More silence in Seattle on ‘Gunrunner’ inquiry, while Ceasefire eyes gun shows

[A] briefing was scheduled today in the “other Washington” with members of Sen. Charles Grassley’s staff regarding the “Project Gunrunner” sting operation that now appears to be linked to the murder of a federal Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agent. [More]
Dave Workman brings us new information in the ongoing "Project Gunwalker" story.
[A] meeting with staff members and, presumably someone from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, was on today’s agenda.
I'd have loved to have been a fly on that wall. Hopefully Workman will be able to give us an update on what transpired. Stay tuned.

Must Be an Exclusive Scoop or Something...

In a letter sent on Wednesday to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder,  complained that the response to his Jan. 27 letter containing the allegation has “been little more than delay and denial.” [More]
Really?

How do you know, Brady McCombs of the Arizona Daily Star?  Surely you learned it from somewhere...?

The Mark of the Beast

The "666" and "Mark of the Beast" in the title of today's column are not really intended as a theological reference--it's just a handy coincidence that "six hundred threescore and six" happens to be the number of firearms going to Mexico that BATFE's operation seems to have "lost" (just as part of "Operation Fast and Furious")  [More]

Sen. Grassley: Time For ATF To Come Clean

It seems clear from Senator Grassley's response that he is not impressed by Assistant Attorney General Weich's categorical denial or the warning to drop the investigation. In fact, the very last part of the letter is the most poignant as it includes a personal plea from Agent Terry's Stepmother...[More]
T.L. Davis once more summarizes where we are to date.  Make sure you share his link. We need everyone pushing this story to the media and to your representatives.

Isn't it something that we have to?  But there it is...

We're the Only Ones Knocking But Twice Enough

A former Walpole police officer, who resigned after being accused of stealing repeatedly from a supermarket, was hired recently by the Norfolk County Sheriff’s Department because the sheriff believes he “deserved another opportunity.’’ [More]
Well, they say character is very important in law enforcement, and he certainly does sound like one.  Thank goodness this isn't indicative of something being wrong with either his morality or the way he thinks--otherwise, if that manifests itself in a way where a citizen is harmed, why, the taxpayers could be sued!

Pleasing No One

I'd like him to hold a press conference. As soon as possible.

There are a few questions I'd like to see asked. And there are some people who deserve answers to them.

A Reasonable Gun Owner

Neil Dickson owns a gun. But he says there should be tighter regulations, more gun control laws. On Monday afternoon, he voiced that concern to his congressman, U.S. Rep. Jim Himes, D-4.

"Ownership should be earned. It's a privilege," said Dickson, vice president and branch manager at Stamford First Bank. "Anybody can easily buy an automatic assault weapon. There should be required training and extensive background checks before people are allowed to own a gun." [More]
Really, Neil?  Anybody? Easily? Automatic?

Do you have any idea what an ignorant quisling you sound like?

Perhaps any gun owner who does business with Stamford First could explain it to you as he closes all accounts and takes them elsewhere.

Or explain it to your bosses...

NOTE: For some reason the paper decided to remove or relocate this story, so I relinked to Google cache.

The Wrong Reaction

One month after Tucson's tragedy, Gabe Zimmerman's fiancee, Kelly O'Brien, is in the state capitol calling for reduced bullets in gun magazines. [More]
Sorry, no.  And I'm afraid that's non-negotiable

If you want to deal with it like this lady, I'll support you.

Welcome to the Party, Pal

You cannot sit on the sidelines and watch, expecting justice and truth to come rolling down without effort. You must demand it. You must jump into the fray, swinging. [More]

Wouldn't it be Terrible?

Retribution?

I just had an intimidation meeting with my local IRS agent. He is looking to put me in jail for failure to pay Social Security Taxes for the past two years totaling some $20,000 over the period of 2008-2010. I wondered why the Social Security Administration continued to hit the Guardians of Liberty website so long after all of the other Feds had left, now I know why. [More]
It's not like it hasn't been done before.

We need to keep an eye on this one.  The best way to do that is under a bright light.

Now THAT'S the Way to Do It

Today was day 3 in DC for me, and I had two scheduled appointments.  The two major issues I wanted to discuss at both meetings were healthcare and "Project Gunwalker". [More]
If Mark Roote can  actually visit his reps, why can't everyone at least write to theirs?

Open for Review

Instead the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives' proposed requirement that firearms dealers near the Mexican border to report multiple purchases of high-powered rifles will undergo a standard, three-month review period, opening it to public comment. [More]
I recommend keeping comments simple and straightforward. For instance, ask them why they should be trusted with even more power and authority when they abuse what they've already got to pull crap like this.

This Day in History: February 10

On February 10, Capt. Robert Anderson received a message from Capt. James Little asking for assistance against the South Carolina Loyalist Militia, commanded by Col. James Boyd, at Cherokee Ford. The ford was located on the Savannah River. Anderson arrived at the ford shortly after the Loyalists bypassed the ford. Anderson and Little's militia crossed the ford into Georgia in order to attack Boyd when he crossed over the Savannah River. [More]

I cannot begin to say how important it is for you regular readers to help spread the word on this by sharing the link with not only all of your gun owner friends, but also with every media outlet you can think of.

If we'd relied on them, it would never have seen the light of day. Now it is being addressed at the highest levels of government and cannot be ignored.
