Gun owners sharply divided over CCRKBA background check support

Gottlieb was also told in correspondence following yesterday’s GRE column that “I kept it straight news without comment, but will tell you I am going to do an editorial piece where I outline my objections.” For what follows, we can leave legal analysis to the experts. These objections are more visceral, based more on observation than anything else. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary asks "Who's rights are they, anyway?"

Our Job

Former U.S. Navy SEAL Dom Raso discusses a situation that happened recently in New Jersey and the complacency our nation has fallen into when it comes to personal protection. [Watch]
I agree -- the New Jersey cops knew they were doing wrong. And I agree, such tyranny is enabled by abdication of the responsibilities of being a free human being.

Bonanza

I dunno. It also seems like a way to expose yourself to more "willful violations," and you can bet they'll come after you with full jackboot-stomping force if one of the guns you do the check for ends up being a straw purchase that ends up at a crime scene. [Read]

We're the Only Ones Modern Enough

“In this day and age people are alarmed when they see someone with what you have,” one of the officers told a handcuffed Grisham. “They don’t care what the law is.” [More]

And, as usual, we know the name of the victim, but the "Authorized Journalists" don't care to tell us the names of the "Only Ones" perpetrating this outrage.

This Day in History: April 15

Col. Cleveland was under heavy guard and a sentinel held one of the colonel's pistols to his head. Capt. Riddle ordered Col. Cleveland to write out passes to certify that each of his captors were good Whigs. Fearing that he would be killed soon thereafter, Col. Cleveland took his time, blaming his delay on poor penmanship.
