An appeal could not be filed due to the Supreme Judicial Court in Boston being closed, Rhodes explained, but despite the rally itself being cancelled, his group went ahead with a ceremony where about 200 members reaffirmed their oaths to uphold the Constitution. In spite of the concerns expressed by the Lexington Board of Selectmen in their revocation of the rally permit, people were freely gathered at nearby Concord Bridge, he observed, which seemingly proves the concerns were groundless. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes some people will go to great lengths to support the Constitution, even when the biggest obstacle in the way is the very government that is supposed to be bound by it.

Oath Keepers holds Lexington oath ceremony in spite of rally ban (Photos)
Heavens, No
A Republican senator said Friday the bombings in Boston raise questions about gaps in the U.S. immigration system, but a Democratic senator rejected such a connection and cautioned against conflating the Boston events with a new immigration bill. [More]Conflation?
Pointing fingers?
Demanding new restrictions?
Chuck Schumer would never do that!

Those are Mike Vanderboegh's words about the oath ceremony on Lexington Green. They conducted it and are now headed to W. Springfield for the afternoon rally.

The OTHER Rally
Tomorrow's, from CCDL:
Groton, CT –
April 19th, 2013- The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (The state's largest grass roots gun rights group) Is hosting a Gun Rally with the purpose of uniting gun owners from across the state, and to lay out plans to challenge the new anti-gun law that recently passed. The event will take place on the north side grounds of the Capitol in Hartford Saturday April 20th from 12:00pm-3:00pm. Guest speakers include Dr John Lott Jr who authored 'More Guns Less Crime' and Stewart Rhodes, who is the Founder of the national organization the 'Oath Keepers'. Other 2nd Amendment activists will be speaking as well.
CCDL states that while the lawful carry of firearms is allowed on Capitol Grounds, the newly passed public act (13-3) forbids the transporting of firearms that meet the expanded definition of an assault weapon, into most places, including the Capitol. Please be reminded that the carrying of firearms is also banned in Hartford city parks. The Capitol grounds share a boundary with Bushnell park.
