Pa. legislator calls for mental health testing of gun owners and their families

How about “No”? How about anyone suggesting that ought to have his head examined, and anyone trying to impose it warrants being repelled? [More]

Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes when it comes to the sanity of “progressive” anti-gunners, Heston was right: It’s a mad house! A MAAAD HOUSE!!

Tickling the Ivory

Any firearm, firearm accessory, or knife that contains ivory, no matter how big or small, would not be able to be sold in the United States, unless it is more than 100 years old.  This means if your shotgun has an ivory bead or inlay, your revolver or pistol has ivory grips, your knife has an ivory handle, or if your firearm accessories, such as cleaning tools that contain any ivory, the item would be illegal to sell. Radio Redux

You can listen to Kate Kreuger's archived show here. I was on in Hour Two:
Guests: What a power packed show it was today! It started with Scott Calvin of TrackingPoint talking about Precision Guided Firearms "PFG". These are those amazing rifles that allow for the perfect 1000 yard shot everytime. You will love this interview. I know I did. http://www.tracking-point.com/, then Katie Pavlich, Author of Fast and Furious: Barack Obama's Bloodiest Scandal and the Shameless Cover-Up, writer & New editor for Townhall.com and shooter. Listen in to hear what we had to say. http://townhall.com/tipsheet/katiepavlich. And then in the second hour I was joined by David Codrea, Talking Guns contributor, Ammoland.com, Gun Rights Examiner, War on Guns and more... on just about everything that happened in the past month... and so much more... It was a great show and over all too soon. Listen up I think you'll enjoy! http://www.davidcodrea.com/

And then there was Armed American Radio:
Idaho pro-gun activist Andrew Wheeler, Nikki Goesser, Ct. Carry’s Rich Burgess discusses the dangerous situation unfolding in CT for gun owners, regular contributors David Codrea and George Hill and we got a call from BBQ pit master and founder of TXBBQRub.com, Bill Cannon
Speaking of Nikki Goesser, she sent me this update on her TV appearance last Tuesday on Investigation Discovery “Obsession: Dark Desires”:
Here is the episode that can be downloaded. https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/obsession-dark-desire-season/id781838706

We're the Only Ones Understanding Enough

"I understand the Second Amendment, and I understand everyone's right, or their belief that they have a right to bear arms," he says. "It doesn't give them a right to use that weapon." [More]
It seems you don't understand much, Sam. For instance, do you understand what kind of pushback your attitude is likely to create a response to?

And as for not being the answer, that depends on the question.  I don't see you and yours giving any up.

Noting how SCOTUS just ducked another one, I have to wonder what the plan is if this passes and the feds say "Tough."

Still Waiting to Score

I had a rude and raging Fairfax loyalist go ballistic on me yesterday. He called me a liar for truthfully reporting that NRA's statement of opposition to the Murthy nomination for Surgeon General does not state that confirmation votes would be scored.

It doesn't. See for yourself.

And that is inconsistent with past practice:

As background, when I called NRA ILA's media office before writing my article, they could not tell me if the Murthy confirmation would be scored and have still not responded to my request for a "yes" or "no" answer.

I'm aware that a report came out after I published my column that says the vote will be scored, and even linked to that in an update. What I'm not aware of is any public statement by NRA ILA directly confirming this.

I have tried again.

If anyone is aware of any official statement by NRA on this, please provide a link.  The object is not to "bash" NRA, it is to make sure the senators are put on notice in a way they can't miss that their vote will have actual political consequences.

Why NRA won't just pledge to score and be done with it is unknown. I'd be happy to stop tugging on their sleeve about this and spend my time focusing on other pressing matters.

Vermont Update

From VTFSC:
Vermont Federation of Sportsmen's Clubs
Burlington Free Press Ad
www.vtfsc.org

Today the Burlington Free Press has a full-page ad paid for by the VFSC and opposing the three proposed gun control ordinances articles on the Burlington ballot on Tuesday. The ad is an attachment to this E-mail.

From the radio ads that have been running on several radio stations in the Burlington area and beyond, the lawn signs displayed in Burlington, to this BFP ad, all are the product of lots of work and the funds donated by many Vermonters who believe freedom is always worth protecting.

The radio ads and BFP ad were necessary to outset the misinformation being published about the actual content of the proposed ordinances.

Burlington has used their Town Meeting Day ballot to attack our Vermont Sportsmen's Bill of Rights, which prevents a patchwork of confusing and conflicting municipal laws that ban/regulate guns, shooting, hunting, reloading, fishing and trapping. Ranges are protected.

Burlington politicians and gun control activist have been very clear that they are using Burlington as their starting point for going after the Vermont Sportsmen's Bill of Rights. Our folks should vote every time the polls are open. On Tuesday, the Burlington voters who want to protect their freedom need to cast their vote. Please Vote "No on 6,7,8"
I posted the radio spots here.
