Before You Decide
Before half the country decides that I am a crazy liberal and stops reading here, let me note that I am a security professional, and a 12 year veteran of the Navy where I served as a weapons system technician, base police officer, and firearms instructor. I am proud gun owner. I’m also a single father. I do not want to ban guns but I do want to protect my son from the dangers they pose. [More]Plus he writes for The Daily Beast!
So before you decide he's a crazy liberal, ask yourself why that impressive summary disavowing "progressive" sympathies and making it seem like he's one of "us," who's only interested in "common sense gun safety," neglects to mention he's also a proud supporter of the Clinton Foundation and California Young Democrats.
Yeah, I've decided. Crazy liberal, no. He knows exactly what he's doing.
Thank You, Boyd!

That's too damn funny. It also lends itself to a pretty useful meme: Respond to their rants simply by saying "You know, you're right. Kim Jong-un agrees with you."
This pretty much demonstrates the need for the umbrella organization, Totalitarians Against (Declared) Illegal Guns.
Do it for the children.
Say, I don't suppose their parents could use some "illegal" guns to kill the tyrants oppressing them...?
As an aside, it doesn't look like there's any way to actually communicate directly with the regime, as opposed to through proxies.

Say, why don't we do something similar with guns...?
I'm wondering if it would be possible to fry whatever apparatus sends out a blocking signal ... without having to physically take it, although perhaps that will be the only choice left.

Disarming the Populace
Interviewed by host Paul Molloy, Mark Thornton discusses gun control and freedom, and also the ongoing conflict in the Ukraine. [Listen]An economist has his mind changed on "gun control," which explains why the Prozis do everything they can to undermine and attack the arguments that convinced him.

Snookered or What?
The Sasse for Senate campaign has reportedly been endorsed by Gun Owners of America... [More]No "reportedly" about it:
I'm not sure allegations of "compromise" are appropriate without first finding out what their reasons were or if they were simply fooled. I need to see if I can find out why, because the Tim Macy summary tells us nothing but platitudes.
This is the first time I recall seeing such a controversy with GOA. I hope they address it quickly and completely. Perhaps they will have a compelling explanation to address the concerns being raised?
This Day in History: May 14
The language of it is at the same time cautious and comprehensive, and seems to make eventual provision for our Independence, without betraying any purpose of acknowledging it. The terms peace and truce are scarcely applicable to any other Conventions than National ones. And the King is authorized to annul or suspend all acts of Parliament whatever as far as they speak of the Colonies. He can therefore clearly remove any parliamentary bar to his recognition of our Independence and I know of no other bar to his treating with America on that ground. All this is however very different from a real peace. The King will assuredly prefer war as long as his Ministry will stand by him, and the sentiments of his present Ministry, particularly of Shelburne are as peremptory against the dismemberments of the Empire as those of any of their predecessors.
