Gun threat against ‘Joe the Plumber’ warrants investigation

One does not know if “Jerry Gregory’s” comment is merely rhetorical or if he’s serious, and if he actually has the motive, means and opportunity to carry out his stated intent. When a stranger threatens to shoot you, it’s probably not a good idea to automatically write it off as being frivolous, especially since it’s pretty obvious this guy is not in a joking mood and since that’s the kind of crazy talk dangerous loons might actually engage in. The person who made that comment sounds genuinely unhinged. Plus, if you need to end up defending yourself, it would help to have a record of a police report, just as legal protection in case the force needed to stop an attacker leads to his justifiable injury or death. Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes more projection going on by those who want to disarm us for “gun violence” committed by others – and kill us for daring to disagree.

We're the Only Ones Unpermissive Enough

“You guys need to contact the park board and get a permit,” said the jackboot tyrant “You can’t promote, you can’t do any of that stuff without a permit.” [More]
Who thinks "it" could never happen here, with feral tuskers like this let out of their pen and set loose among the populace?

We're the Only Ones A-Hunting We Will Go Enough

Prosecutors say Carter, fascinated with the elk, stalked it for days and sought to mount its head on a wall as a trophy. They said he shut off the GPS in his squad car when he shot the animal, and failed to radio dispatchers his location. Prosecutors said Carter later forged a tag to pass off the dead animal as road kill. [More]
King's deer, king's men...what's the problem here?

It's not like the guy is a mere citizen poacher or anything.

If antis truly believe he's right-- and I said "truly" --let's see them sue NRA, as opposed to more likely targets.

A Good First Step

Within days of filing our lawsuit against Eastern Florida State College (EFSC), the college agreed to amended its anti-gun policies to come in to compliance with state firearms laws.  [More]
Great. Now let's continue to work to force them to come into compliance with "shall not be infringed."

Still Crazy After All These Years

People could be even be labeled “mentally ill” because they are outspoken critics of the government. [More]

Surprise, Surprise, Surprise!

“I was surprised to hear that it had some oomph left in it.” [More]

Dangerous and Unusual

I'm not even gonna quote Tench Coxe and his "terrible implement" advocacy. [More]

We see the game being played here. The intent is to prime for another "assault weapon/high capacity clip" ban (as "a good first step," of course).

The only answer here is "No."

The longer version has two words and starts with "F."

Your move.

Note to Iowa Gun Owners

A vote for Mark Jacobs is a vote for...uh...Mark Jacobs.  He consistently refused my requests to unequivocally define his position on RKBA.

And So It Begins

The criminal Holder intends going to war with patriots under the "Homegrown Terrorists" flag. [More]

Oh, sure, he'll probably pick some low-hanging fruit first, just to "legitimize" the effort.

Note to make the case, he and his Fourth Estate Fifth Columnist fellow travelers at The Times show us a photo of a Chechen who was 16 before this country took him in as a refugee.

Here's the chilling part:
Though the original task force, which was little known, focused mainly on right-wing zealots, Holder’s version is aimed at U.S. citizens or visitors radicalized via the Internet.
Define "zealots." I could throw that one back at the damned Prozi scum making that charge.

I've made no secret of proclaiming that radicalizing gun owners is precisely my mission. I've worked toward that goal from the start.

So much for the fraud that "progressives" give a damn about the little guy.  If there's one amendment that codifies true egalitarian power-sharing, it's the Second.

Aside from the obvious flaws in such a scheme, such as a disgruntled, jilted spouse, greedy kids who want to inherit, a new definition to accommodate "modern families", etc., there's this little thing called due process requiring someone to go through more than just a judge rubber stamping a politically desired outcome. Not that Boxer cares about any of that. We all know the end game she wants.

Add to that in the Isla Vista killings, the family evidently didn't know their monster had guns, the sheriff never checked and everything was settled and hushed up nicely without resorting to California 5150 involuntary hold provisions. I still believe lawyers will want to see all of the family's -- and the family attorney's -- communications with the sheriff's office beforehand, to see what extent their being connected and influential had on decisions made, and to determine the likelihood that a family of lesser position would have received the same considerations.

Today's One-Minute Activism

You too can ask AG Dewine to get off the stick on this: https://www.facebook.com/MikeDeWine .

That is, assuming you're not one of those gun owners who refuses to get involved with anything related to "social media."  Here's what I said to one who fears hackers if he does use such sites, like that's the only place someone who knows what he's doing could render the rest of us vulnerable:
You shouldn't use them for trivial crap.  But if you refuse to use it as a tool in the fight, you're ceding an entire battlespace to the enemy:
http://www.examiner.com/article/gun-owners-squandering-valuable-resources-by-ignoring-social-media

I was able to use Twitter and Facebook today to good effect:
http://waronguns.blogspot.com/2014/05/todays-five-minute-activism_29.html

It allowed my piece on Isla Vista to go viral, and reach far more people than I can on my own.  When trying to get my voice out there competing with establishment media, there is just no other way.

It's real simple--you only make "friends" with people you can check on -- for instance, I always look at what they post before accepting a friend request so I don't accept any antis, haters or obvious loons, you cut off anybody who turns out to be an @$$h01e, and you don't post personal details.

It ain't about ego and Look At Me, it's about using the signal. for a purpose.
I was not that good about following my own advice early on. I'm getting better.

This Day in History: June 3

But whatever her policy might at that period be, it is manifest that a very different one is now pursued. British Goods are issued from the Enemy’s lines with greater industry than they have ever been, and as is universally believed, with the knowledge, if not at the instigation of those in power. Indeed they would counteract their new System in doing otherwise. The sense of the Eastern States will appear from the ays & nos on the question. Mr. Adams in his last despatches ascribes much of the late pacific symtoms in the British Nation, and of the facilities which begin to attend his mission in Holland, to our proscription of British Merchandize.
