Concealed carry groups sue Ohio State University for violating state law

“The Ohio Revised Code is clear that the legislature retains sole authority to regulate the possession of firearms,” DeBrosse added, characterizing school policies as a “direct violation of the law.” [More
This evening's Gun Rights Examiner report notes some criminals for "gun control" live in ivory towers, and lawbreakers are punishing lawful gun owners for exercising their rights. How very "progressive."

Two Countries

We're Islamic terrorists and teabaggers.

Little bit of bipolar self-contradiction going on there if you think about it...

Ah well, what is it we regularly demonstrate about "progressives"

Anybody still want to have a "national conversation on common sense gun safety measures" with these hate-filled lunatics?

Target gun poser photo provokes angry backlash

At this writing, he has not responded. It may be because he has no desire to and wants to put an embarrassing act behind him, it may be because he is too busy, or it may be because, in addition to the potential for a police investigation, some activists have taken their outrage a step further and approached his employer, Petroleum Engineering World, leaving comments on their Facebook page obviously designed to get them to reconsider his employment.[More]
Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes a picture may not only be worth a thousand words, it may also be worth a lot more to someone who doesn’t want either the cops or his boss to see it.

Huh. I always spelled it "Seanto." I like my way better. Looks like we're headed for a bitter public falling out!

The nerve of some people!

UPDATE: I wrote up the part of the discussion where we talked about the guy posting photos on Facebook of posing with the gun at Target in today's GRE.

Executive Action

From a range operator in a southern state:
After 50 years of existence, we are suddenly having an OSHA inspection of our ranges. We found out recently that the local skeet/trap club is also having an OSHA inspection. Have you heard of this happening else where? With this administration, I am paranoid with anything involving the Federal Government and attacks on civil rights. Please let me know if you have heard of other OSHA inspections of ranges.
My reply:

Plus see supporting links. The head of OSHA is an anti-gun ideologue a handful of us warned about before he was confirmed by the Senate.

I would not be surprised to see them stepping this kind of harassment up.  I'm not aware of anyone raising an  alarm on this and do not know how widespread it is -- I'll ask around.
OK, I'm asking.

As an aside, leave it to "Every day is Opposite Day" Prozis to deem us all safer by threatening places where we can train and practice.

"It's Going to Get Ugly"

Yeah, it very well could. [More]

Why do you think they would pick California to try this out at?  If they go through with this, they don't want a repeat of Bunkerville, or the potential for another "shot heard round the world."

Seemingly paradoxically, that could provide incentive to find another way besides violence. With nothing to restrain them, things could get very ugly.

Still, if it happens, it won't be without unintended consequences, especially as more American see for themselves exactly whose side the Prozi administration is on.

At that point, things could really get ugly.

The Character of Anti-Gun Characters

I ran across a few comments I though was illustrative of a mentality among anti-gun "males":

You're right, John. You should not have a gun.

Ah, but if he doesn't trust himself, how dare YOU presume to be trustworthy?

Others believe in (agents of the state) disarming their betters so strongly they endorse making false police reports on open carriers and possibly getting them killed-- now there's a novel way to practice "common sense gun safety" and  "stop the violence"!

Pathetic, hateful little characters...

We Get Links

More than I know what to do with over the Independence Day weekend, when I was pleasantly occupied with family and not focused on much else...

Here's some, but certainly not all, of notices I received that merit attention.

Dave Workman has been busy.  Articles he wrote over the weekend can be found on his landing page.

Liston Matthews answers some  questions.

Claire Wolfe waxes poetic.

Buying a Better Mouse Trap

We found mice coming up in the basement through the sump pump floor cover, so I needed to buy a few traps.

Sorry, Ace Hardware in Hudson, OH, but your "No Guns" sign told me I was not welcome there, so I complied and went somewhere else.  When did you put it back up? No business-breaking purchase, for sure, but I'll need plenty of other stuff you sell, and I won't be buying it from you as long as that stupid and offensive sign is up.

Do you think a criminal intent on taking your money (and who knows what else?) will heed it?  Or just people bringing YOU money? From the looks of your parking lot, it doesn't appear that you can afford to drive too many more of them away:

It's not the first time Ace has disappointed. Ah well, they're not the only game in town. If they'd rather have their rule than gun owner business, don't be surprised if the facility decays even further.

About that "Single Issue"
