Holder’s plan received fawning backing from ATF Director B. Todd Jones, who reports to him, and Chicago Police Department Superintendent Garry McCarthy, whose department receives substantial grant money from DOJ. They both know they were merely mouthing expected words demanded for the performance. [More]Today’s Gun Rights Examiner report notes more promises from cynical creatures that have no intention of keeping them, and more corruption from the minions they “lead.” In other words, just another typical ATF update...

We're the Only Ones Short Term Enough
Ryszard Kopacz, 30, of Wauconda, was arrested July 9 – days after he started his job with and then was fired from the Richmond police force -- and charged with official misconduct, burglary and possessing stolen guns. [More]I can't tell you how many new jobs I've lost because of that.
You too? It's like this guy is one of us!

Lowering the Bar
[T]he Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) is considering joining with the Brady Center to submit an amicus in support of Connecticut’s unconstitutional gun law, Public Act 13-3. [More]Oh, are they now?
As I would expect, our friends at Connecticut Citizens Defense League are on top of things, but that doesn't mean they can do it all by themselves. They've put out a call to action via attorney Martha Dean that needs to be done NOW:
The Connecticut Bar Association is about to vote on whether to become a signatory to the Brady Center’s amicus brief in Shew v. Malloy (the federal lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of CT’s new firearms law). CBA’s Human Rights Section is pushing this anti-2nd Amendment position within the organization. Please share and forward this information on to all pro-2A attorneys and any other attorneys who would be concerned about this blatant and, in my view, entirely improper, politicization of CBA. Ask them to make their voices heard in writing and/or at the meeting this coming Monday. Any attorney who is a member of CBA can send written feedback to the CBA executive committee c/o this address: cdejohn@ctbar.org ON OR BEFORE SUNDAY JULY 20, 2014. Any CBA member can attend the Special Meeting to discuss whether CBA should sign-on to the Brady brief on Monday, July 21 at 6 p.m. at CBA Headquarters in New Britain. In order to attend the special meeting, CBA members MUST SIGN UP BY (tomorrow) THURSDAY, JULY 18 here >> https://www.ctbar.org/Calendar/Signup.aspx?EventNo=8195If you are a Connecticut gun owner or one of their supporters, please take action without delay.
Not Debatable?
American AK-47 owners can breath a sigh of relief: Sanctions imposed upon Russia for its actions in Ukraine will not create a Second Amendment debate over the popular rifle. [More]The hell it won't.
What happens to the guys stuck with inventory where payments may still be due? Just where does Obama get legitimate authority to stick his nose in this in the first damn place, as if this isn't just more of his sticking it to gun owners, and how does that trump "shall not be infringed"? It's not like we're at war, and all trade has been suspended with full input from our representatives we can then hold accountable. This is singled out and targeted for a reason.

Yeah, Saddam was a murderous bastard, but he was a containable murderous bastard. Under his tyranny, Al Qaeda and ISIL and the rest did not dare operate, because they'd have ended up getting their vital organs ripped out in Uday and Qusay's torture chambers.
This business of thinking we can bring "democracy" to a hostile alien culture that views us as infidels to be conquered, enslaved or killed, and live forever in "kumbayah" harmony, is something only childish useful idiots believe. The cynical minds behind promulgating that line know full well what the score is.
It looks like they're doing their best to do the same thing to Bashar.

We're the Only Ones Ghoulish Enough
A state trooper, caught on his own dashboard camera stealing a dying motorist’s cash and gold crucifix, is facing up to a year and a half in prison. [More]Well, why not? Mike Lawlor has already told his troops they can use the continuum of force on citizens to steal their guns.

Credit Where Due
“Criminals are getting the message that good Detroiters are armed and will use that weapon,” said Craig, who has repeatedly said he believes armed citizens deter crime. “I don’t want to take away from the good work our investigators are doing, but I think part of the drop in crime, and robberies in particular, is because criminals are thinking twice that citizens could be armed. [More]So naturally, the antis will focus on the 88-year-old who shot at reporters...
I'm starting to change my mind about Craig...

Bulletproof Mind
I talked about the DVD set by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman here.
Ohio and surrounding state gun owners should know that Buckeye Firearms Association is presenting the man live in Columbus in October. That should give plenty of time to make preparations.
You can find out the details and register for the seminar here. It lists the cost to attend at $99. BFA realizes times are tough, so rather than charge full price, they're upping the number of chairs in the room and knocking down the price. Substantially.
"Type MINDSET2014 in the Promo Code box. This will subtract $40 and make your final cost just $59," BFA advises. "This discount is good for you, your family, your friends, or anyone you want to bring with you."

What other credentials does he have?
Well, for one, the SPLC wants you to think he's a "hater"...

The Prozis have no intention of giving you fair representation. Why so many seem enamored of the potential for publicity enough to give them the time of day is, I guess, probably just reflective of human nature, thinking if you only show them how good your intentions are, that will somehow be brought out for all to see.
