"Progressives" love "third way" proposals, if nothing else to get people's guard down on matters of principle and let the camel slip its nose under the tent, so if they're to be consistent, they ought to love this idea. [More]My latest JPFO Alert offers a prescription for immunizing gun owners against agenda-driven gun quacks in states that have not yet enacted appropriate boundary violation protections.

Why Not Offer a 'Third Way' to Let Doctors Ask About Guns?
Gun owners should take White House up on invitation to write Obama
Well, why not? This is still America, as much as Obama's trying to fundamentally transform the place, and as long as you steer clear of anything the Secret Service might not find humor or understanding in, you’re still free to tell the guy what you think of him, or to ask him a question, or to urge him to... well, use your best judgment there. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary encourages gun owners to tell the Organizer in Chief just what they think of him and his fundamental transformations.
Judicial Watch says court ordered DOJ to release Fast & Furious docs index
Well, that oughtta be good for more stonewalling and thumb-nosing. [More]

Letters to Obama
I sent a message to Obama as part of my upcoming Gun Rights Examiner article. This blog post will be a link in that piece.
Here was my message:
It was rejected on submission. It said my CAPTCHA answer was incorrect. Sorry, I don't know much Common Core math, and was always taught to use a comma. They sure make it tough to tell the guy to go **** himself.
Ah well, if at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Will I be up to the challenge this time, and do I enter "four" or "4"?
WTF is with the British spelling of "color"? Are they outsourcing the website to H-1Bs from India now?
Anyway, here's proof of delivery. Now to go and post my article.

He's a Well-Respected Man About Town
This means, as respected firearms blogger David Codrea recently noted, that when it’s time for someone to “pay the piper,” it won’t be real criminals that get the shaft, it will be some poor FFL that hasn’t kept his books up to snuff. [More]I've warned these folks before not everyone agrees with that assessment, and any public acknowledgement may end up working against them in the eyes of those who feel I've stepped on toes or worse. That said, I intend to grab feral sons Uday and Qusay by their collars and read this to them -- it's nice to know there are ways to command their respect other than what I have to do to break up their parties.
I'll drag 'em in for an obedience lesson right after this song is over.

You Sly Dog
At Mayor Sly James’ urging, the City Council voted 9-0 Thursday to ban the “open carry” of firearms, saying Kansas City doesn’t need any more weapons on the streets.I'll say!
“This is not an environment where we need to have everyone armed to the teeth,” James told his colleagues. [More]

A Common Sense Gun Safety Advocate
Louisville Metro Police have arrested a man after they say he hid a gun in his 15-year-old cousin's backpack so he could attend a rally against youth violence. [More]See, this is why they have to disarm you and me.

The Obvious Solution
Disarm the military! [More]
After all, if you don't need a gun because the police will protect you, it stands to reason the police don't need guns because the military will protect them, and the military doesn't need guns because the UN will protect them.
Of course, that leads to the inconvenient question of who will protect us from our protecto... ohhh... so that's why we need guns...
[Via Florida Guy]
UPDATE: I moved on this 20 minutes too soon. I just saw it's the subject of Kurt's latest JPFO alert, and, as per what we expect from him, he packs in plenty of other insights.
Go, read, share.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MR. PRESIDENT!
Well, thank you, Jennifer. That worked better than warm suds and a syringe tube!
Here's the thing: I followed your link and didn't quite see the card I wanted. So I hope you don't mind, but I went ahead and customized a few of my own:
Here's the article I made this for.
Kapo Collaborators of Greater Seattle
Oh really?“It is deeply offensive for anyone to suggest that Jewish supporters of gun violence prevention have ‘forgotten’ the history of our people,” the group said. “For a representative of the National Rifle Association, or any organization, to repeat the out-of-touch falsehood linking gun violence prevention to Nazi Germany and the Holocaust is not only an ignorant distortion but is exceedingly dangerous.” [More]
"I can't tell you how deeply those
Warsaw ghetto fighters offended me."
Oh really?
Oh really?
Deeply offensive? For "progressives," every day is Opposite Day. I'm glad they're offended. To paraphrase Rhett Butler, they deserve to be offended, and often, and by someone who knew how.
For Prozi swine, every day is Big Lie Day. These are the types who would rat out a barracks mate for extra rations. They are beyond contemptible.
And as usual, they're also way off target, but it's intentional. Crediting the concept to NRA makes for a more recognizable boogieman to rouse the rabble with.

Agents and officers marked an X on the hands of everyone they have spoken to.Heck, they should have dragged them out and made them all submit to more reliable investigative techniques. It's not like we don't have precedent from our more sophisticated allies. After all, if you've got nothing to hide...
