Don't Let the Door Hit You in Your Talent.

Ah yes, the talented Chrissy Teigen. No ego problems there.

Just not all that bright. Or all that observant.

Or all that in tune with the fact that she's basically a lottery winner.

Rise of the Machines

The partially autonomously controlled missiles, or so-called "killer robots", will be used for airborne strikes for its new fighter jets and have the ability to identify targets and make decisions to kill without human interference. [More]
"Without human interference"...?

What a nice way of saying they're creating a cybersociopath, the stuff of techno-nightmares, in good old-fashioned lingo, a monster...

Which makes it fair to wonder about the wholesome goodness of its creators, who need be held personally liable for the decisions of their abomination.

Terminally liable for terminal decisions...

See? We don't need bans. We just need to make people accountable for what they do, and for what they set loose.

Prayers for the Living

At least for the wounded grandfather. Screw the other two punks. And the dead looks where he belongs. [More]

The Real Problem...

...is that Streicher Award candidates like Paul Waldman are Fourth Estate Fifth Columnists, not "journalists." [More]

"Borders on anti-democratic"?

Is that what you think rights are?

You want specific justifiable examples?

Wasn't Randy Weaver awarded $3.1 million?

Would you fight uniformed animals trying to stick a broom handle up your @$$, Paul, or is that something you pay extra for?

If Karina Obrycka and blown a hole through that feral swine Anthony Abbate's snout, would you have voted to convict her?

I could keep this up all day.

You want a broader example?  Ever hear of the Battle of Athens?

You want to press people for questions about when it's time to shoot the bastards, Paul, here's one: What level of tyrannical abuses and atrocities, where doors for peaceable recourse have been blocked and bolted shut, will you just roll over for? Is there anything that would induce you to pick up a weapon and resist?

If so, what is it?

If not, may your chains set lightly. Or let 'em weigh heavy, for all I care. It's not like you or your silly anti-gun male opinions are actually relevant to freedom.

Shelter from the Storm

This reminds me of someone I know who has ventured that their family will be able to come get guns from a more prepared relative's household when they need it. I let that go without challenging the assumption that such things would just be turned over, but did point out they would not know how to deploy with firearms if they had them, plus they would never survive unarmed to make it across town to pick them up in the first place. So executive privilege extends to Holder's wife? [More]

What a bunch of goddam criminals.

And the Republicans are OK with this?

Urban prosecutors form group to demand ‘gun control’

Where the funding for the effort is coming from, and if city funds have been used to foot the travel and expense bill for the Atlanta summit and other ventures is another area meriting disclosure. At this point, the group is new enough to where they do not yet appear listed on the Guidestar nonprofit website, and Secretary of State corporate entity searches yielded no results in California and New York, from where Feuer and Vance respectively hail. Yeah, I know it's "Stange," but my way's more appropriate. [More]

Like their self-outed ideological kinsmen, Prozis, too, are shameless promoters of the Big Lie.

To Reach the Unreachable Star

This reminds me of a story I heard long ago about a polling place back when civil rights were trying to be enforced, and  black citizens showed up wanting to vote.  The sheriff had a jar of beans and said they had to guess how many were in it. [More]

One of the big problems with provincial tyrants getting away with this crap is they incur no personal liability. That is, until someone snaps, but they often take it out on the wrong people.

If we had a true Justice Department,  Cathy Lanier would be behind bars.

I dare you.

Why isn't there a Freedom  from Atheism Foundation?  After all, beliefs that come with no proofs are also ones of faith.

Agnostics, I can respect.  Atheists, at least the obnoxious Prozi misfit mad at the world for their own social inadequacy kind, who take an absolutist position they feel compelled to impose on everyone else, I do not.

We're the Only Ones Panty-Raiding Enough

Thank goodness "Homeland Security" doesn't have any actual homeland security issues to deal with. [More]

You know, aside from treating some of us like domestic extremist threats...

One thing: If I had a newspaper, with reporters, and resources and everything, I'd consider it in the public interest to name some names besides the victim.

Who ordered the raid? Who participated in it? Who sought the warrant?  Which judge signed it? Were other agencies involved?  Who, by name, and what role did each play?

Then I'd go on to other details, like why was DHS involved with this? What else do they have their fingers in that bears no relation to their chartered mission?

Did the Royals try to resolve this without having the goons sent in? You know, have someone just call the lady up and explain why if they let one person use their logo, it opens the door to losing control?  Maybe thank her for cooperating and send her a ball cap, or else follow it up with a cease and desist letter from corporate lawyers if she sounded resistant?

What the hell is this show of force over this?  What the hell has become of this country, when that's the official response and most people just shrug and move along?

That is, unless there's more to this story. I can't tell from the linked piece.

Rotten to the Corps

Federal court in Idaho strikes down ban on possessing guns for self-defense on Army Corps of Engineers property [More]
Really? It's their property?

I've been meaning to put some time into this story, along with taking a look at how the CoE at times stands the supposed subordination of the military to civil authority on its head. Based on juggled balls already in the air, that'll have to come another day.

We're the Only Ones Tossed Enough

While I have a tough time buying into the contention of the gun-grabbing Seattle PD that the new use of force policy violates their 2A, the judge's "rationale," that we have a right to keep and bear arms, but just not to use them, defies any benchmark for sanity. [More]

Funny, though, how these guys turn to the Constitution when it suits their purposes.

Still, it does highlight a point more in government need to realize -- it just doesn't "protect" us from them...

We're the Only Ones Breaking Bad Enough

Since the manhunt began, Tully has been stopped and questioned by law enforcement officials as many as seven times in a round trip. The stops have always been simple until last week, when an unmarked law enforcement official from an unknown agency forced Tully to the ground by gunpoint, drove his knee into Tully’s back, demanded to know his name, and then threatened to, "break him." After Tully provided identification, the officer continued to badger him until a state police trooper arrived and told the officer on Tully’s back that it wasn't Frein. [More]
So: What was the thug's name?

I guess it's a good thing the state police say they have no idea...?

This Day in History: October 23

The States are so tardy in collecting the Taxes, that the most trivial sum cannot be obtained for the most pressing purposes—and in one sense it may be said, that the Officers of the Army are actually starving for want of a small portion of their pay—the Horses of it, for want of money to procure forage, are actually in this condition...
