I'm Sure Jeh Johnson Would Tell You...

...machines have earned the right to vote. [More]

Funny, how the "irregularity" only seems to go one way...

Radio host and author Loesch cancels book signing on ‘gun-free’ campus

“Texas Christian University is committed to providing a safe environment for employees, students and campus visitors,” the private school notes in its policy. “Therefore, the university, in accordance with the Texas Penal Code, prohibits the possession of any firearm or deadly weapon on university property or at university-sponsored events even if an individual has been issued a license by the state.” [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes the proper way to deal with "gun-free zones." Avoid them.

We're the Only Ones Compensated Enough

Twelve Baltimore police officers have sought workers' compensation for psychological stress in fatal shootings and similar deadly encounters in the 2011 to 2013 fiscal years, the most recent data available. The average award from a fatal incident was about $30,000, according to records The Baltimore Sun obtained through a series of Maryland Public Information Act requests. [More]
Kind'a reminds me of this for some reason:
"I weep for you," the Walrus said: "I deeply sympathize." With sobs and tears he sorted out Those of the largest size, Holding his pocket-handkerchief Before his streaming eyes.

Fine By Me

Better than a civil war involving the rest of us. [More]

Chariot of the Frauds

I understand not appreciating such things reflects poorly on those who don't get it, at least in the minds of lunatic snobs. [More]

Perhaps it's just a different criteria for what constitutes both genius and value. But what the hell do I know?

I remember... wait, I already told that story.

The New Eloi

The Morlocks will have no problem harvesting this crop. [Watch]

If Only They Would Disarm You and Me

Gray, 59, was arrested at the scene, but has yet to be charged. He recently got off probation in another domestic case this week. He has other felony domestic cases and a manslaughter conviction that began as a murder case. Garth-Gray had recently filed for divorce from Gray, for the fifth time-she dropped the first four cases. [More]
And now the MILMs can tell everyone how women with guns in the home are more likely to be victims!  Perhaps some effective solutions will be identified at the vigil.

Sticker Shock for Hoplophobes?

Some junior journalist at our local NBC affiliate is asking folks to tweet him pictures of their “I Voted” sticker. I’m thinking stick that sucker on the ejection port of my AR and send it along… ;-D

CYDL's sticker looks cooler than mine for some reason.  I'll follow up on this if the photo is posted or na (Hey, younger feral son Qusay talks that way during this phase -- God, please let it be a phase!) and I'll follow up accordingly.

UPDATE:  It's there.

For now.  Let's see if it stays there.

No Guns Were Found at the Scene, Were There?

Gunmen have killed a general in a Mexican state along the US border. [More]
I think we're all probably wondering the same thing here...

Even though the odds are remote, it's a question that inevitably comes to mind on stories like this...

The Adventures of Captain Freedom

A California state senator who resigned his seat after being convicted of eight counts of perjury and voter fraud and sentenced to 90 days in prison has been freed before he even entered the jail system. [More]
Our hero!  (Gosh -- so giving in-your-face fraudulent ratings isn't something new?)

Some "loyalists" got a might peeved at me for that post.  Some were actually livid.  But the Captain never let a little thing like blind apologia get in the way of an agenda.  Thing is, now that he's a "prohibited person," he's hoist with his own petard.

Ah well -- it could have been worse:
After his conviction, Wright faced up to eight years in prison, but in September, a judge sentenced him to just 90 days and barred him from ever holding public office again.
Thank goodness he received no special favors!

Stop Me If You've Heard This One Before

U.S. guns are responsible for Mexican crime! [More]

Funny, there's something kind of obvious these "real reporters" neglect to even mention.

Lie, rinse, repeat.

This line kind of stuck out:
Nine of those were women and some were housewives and mothers.
I can't help but wonder about political affiliations and sympathies...

Played for a Sapp

“Look, I am an IRS agent and I can help you in other ways if you let me go home and make this go away.” [More]
So what kind of moral examples and expectations has his leadership set, playing the rest of us for saps?

And So It Begins

I know, pretty dumb sticker.

There was a good turnout at 6:45 a.m., 15 minutes after the polls opened. If that's any indication of how the day will proceed, there will be lines -- at least in my neck of the woods.

Yo, Mike DeWine: I abstained from voting for AG.  You exemplify where I draw the line.

And yeah, I also know the "choices" I did go with are hardly perfect.

Neither am I.

This Day in History: November 4

I was at York Town in Virginia as a Merchant, when the Army & Garrison there surrendered to Your Excellency; and disposed of a considerable part of my Merchandize to the Public, for which, it was stipulated that I should receive Tobacco in return. [More]
