With events and actions established, the Oakland Police Department probably won’t do anything unless public pressure makes ignoring things problematic. They have evidence that a gun, real or imitation, was brought into a school within their jurisdiction. They have the ability to determine if exemptions were in force if the firearm was real. They have a statement from the school director that if the gun was a replica, it was not authorized. They have cause to investigate to determine if any violations occurred, and no excuse not to aside from they don’t want to. On the flip side, it’s tough to believe they would not throw the book at gun rights supporters for bringing a nonexempt real gun or unauthorized replica gun into a school in order to make a pro-gun advocacy point. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes it looks like real law was broken by those demanding more laws, and wonders if the David Gregory Effect will once again come into play.

School FOIA response points to law violation by anti-gun filmmaker
Exclusive: “Green Decoys” Lure Sportsmen Into Deceptive Trap
Employing a “divide and conquer” strategy against gun owners, often pitting sport shooters against those who own firearms for the primary purposes of protection and freedom, is hardly new. It’s been tried before with other well-funded shill groups established by those who can’t push citizen disarmament edicts through if they’re up front about their intentions, so they instead package them in a way to induce well-meaning but poorly informed gun owners to take the bait. [More]My latest GUNS Magazine "Rights Watch" column is now online.

Consider contacting your commissioners and sheriff to let them know that many counties are taking courageous steps and they should too. [More]I rarely find myself not in lockstep with my friends at Oregon Firearms Federation, but in this case, my reaction is to say "'Consider,' hell, just do it."
Nothing to See Here
So 18 million foreign students and workers — including many university-trained workers — have jumped into the U.S. economy since Obama was inaugurated in 2009. [More]What could this possibly have to do with guns?

As for everything else, Fr. Guido Sarducci was right.

Perpetual Hickenlooper Blues
From CYDL:
Hick was on a local show over the weekend where the public was encouraged to send him questions. Apparently more than a few folks asked about the repeal of our Bloomberg laws. Here’s what he said:
@9NEWSpolitics@hickforco what do you think about the overwhelming push to recall your draconian #2A bills that you didn't even read??
— Dr Conner (@askdrconner)
"Well, I haven't seen the overwhelming desire," Hickenlooper said. "That's a legislative issue." The governor says he hears plenty of support for his background checks bill. (He's said before that the magazine limits measure was tougher for him.) "I think it makes Colorado a safer place," Hickenlooper added. "No one has brought to me information or data that suggests otherwise."
Then, a more, umm… urgent issue. A lack of restrooms on the highways...
Here’s the whole enchilada.
Temporarily Going Underground
I'll be tunneling in tonight at 9 p.m. Eastern to the Moretti Underground to discuss fraudulent ATF and DOJ attorneys -- something I've been hammering on and very few others have noticed.
Too bad it's gotta be done underground, as most "real reporters" have no incentive to tell people about corruption in the administration they still have a giddy crush on. The problem with that, of course, is if it's not "headline news," the politicians figure it's safe to ignore and they can get more ink making noise about something else.
That's why I keep asking for force multipliers to spread the word.
You'll be able to click here to listen.

These people sure are adept at weasel-wording and avoiding admitting the inevitable. What liars -- both Walker and the increasingly useful-to-the-establishment Breitbart, which is proving increasingly useless in other vital areas.

Repeal Rally
The text of Graham’s measure, HB 1886, is fairly simple. It would send the 18-page gun control measure, passed by voters last November, back to the voters at the next general election. [More]If there is information that says gun owners can expect better funding, a superior information campaign and different results from last time, I haven't seen it. The other factor to be considered involves all those "wild cards" who are determined to force the issue.
Maybe this week I can find time to flesh out some further thoughts on that.
Guidance Counselors
So if this isn't an admission that despite denials, the administration was stiffing and choking disapproved industries, why the need for clarification? [More]
Like a Good Neighbor
I have a very good friend whose neighbor is on vacation. Because of beaucoup snow, he has been putting tire tracks in the neighbor's driveway so the house appears occupied from the road. Due to the current heavy snow conditions, this morning, after he cleared his own driveway, my friend took his snowblower next door and did that one, too, on his own initiative and without being asked.
This has multiple benefits of establishing continual goodwill, and also in keeping his neighborhood protected by removing a telltale sign that could attract burglars. While my friend is also active in national and state-level matters -- and in a good way or he wouldn't be my friend -- this is getting involved locally and personally, something we also can't overlook.
And sure, it would have been a lot easier to ignore things, with plenty of excuses to justify non-involvement. My friend is not the type who considers his sole contribution to be having an opinion.
I'm certain there would be no shortage of private jetsetter-funded environmentalcases who would condemn my starting-to-get-up-there-in-age friend for using a gas-powered Briggs & Stratton assaultblower, and would prefer he increase his heart attack risks by doing things the Gaia-friendly way (hey, do we have to show respect and spell that G--a?). Besides, he's one of those evil gun owners, and we could all do with fewer of those selfish haters, right?

My challenges to those of you urging Mike to go:
- Do so publicly under your own name.

A Libertarian Paradox
This time, frequent comment poster russn8r, whose conclusions about the destructive results of "amnesty" I happen to agree with, crosses swords with my friend Bruce Krafft in addressing "no borders" libertarianism as endorsed by another friend, L. Neil Smith. See comments under the linked article. [More]
I agree that, assuming we're not on the cusp of a new dark age, governments, which are a form of social technology, can evolve to the point where the advantages of voluntary and contractual associations and self-government, with private enforcement via positive and negative incentive mechanisms, would replace what is currently being haphazardly and unjustly done through coercion and force. Once we had tribal chiefs, then kings, and now, evidently, sorcerers. Perhaps there will come a time when we can rule ourselves without interference, and render those who would control us lunatic curiosities and pariahs .
That said, I don't see how we are to get from here to there by opening the floodgates to the system currently in place and occupying the same territory with disparate cultures, especially with the next step in that plan apparently being civil war by selective assassinations after the political consequences some of us are warning against actually occur. I didn't see that point denied.
As I've noted before, and will repeat here again, if anyone has actual data -- not opinions or wishful thinking-- to refute the documented observation that the millions of illegal immigrants the Obama administration says "have earned the right to be citizens" will not politically identify overwhelmingly with the Democrats and the gun-grabbers, present your evidence. That's the dispassionate discussion I am offering once more.
But do me a favor and present your views over there. That's where more people need to see the conversation, plus I'm overwhelmed with work today and will make comment moderation here a lower priority than getting my primary tasks done.
