Child demanding entrance to gallery captivates ‘Freedom Knocks’ activists

It was from this scene that a remarkable, unifying, charmingly captivating and inspirational act happened. A little girl, a six-year-old appropriately named Faith, came forward on her own, rapped on massive doors that dwarfed her, and cried “Freedom knocking!” to the delight and applause of all. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report takes a closer look at a group of good, freedom-loving Americans some would love to lock out of the conversation as well as the halls of power.  It might serve you well to see what they're like for yourself.

CCDL Responds to Malloy

My response to this:

More in-your-face tyranny from this wretched domestic enemy. I guess he wants to see if everyone will ignore his subversion of due process the same way so many have ignored his intolerable act infringements of 2A. What a punk this guy would be without his retinue of enforcers.

CCDL's response:
“It’s clear to myself and the membership of our organization that Governor Malloy simply does not like the notion of private gun ownership, and will use any tactic or excuse to erode constitutional rights. This is simply a ploy by the governor and his cronies to further erode human rights”.

Racist-Supporting Moms To Hold Another Public Meltdown

Hey "white privileged" Shannon-- why haven't you condemned your patron's call for race-based disarmament? [More]

Black Criminals, White Victims, and White Guilt

They're going to have to deal with these without me, because I don't care what color a criminal is, and I ain't gonna be a victim, at least without ripping faces off with my teeth. While I do have a very strongly developed sense of guilt, which I view as an asset, I need to actually be responsible for something bad before it kicks in. [More]

Heading for Home

Vanderboegh is at SeaTac waiting to board within the hour.  He can't hook into the wifi there, so he asked me to pass along his plan to update us when he gets home.

Me, I'd expect him to be exhausted, and recommend we not burden him with emails and comments until after he gets settled in and takes care of the pile no doubt awaiting him.

I told him not to pull a Conrad Hilton and start calling people "Peasants"... :-)

Last Night on Armed American Radio

Alan Gottlieb updates gun owners on latest court actions in DC and TX, Lee "The Gun Writer" Williams from Sarasota Herald Tribune joins ranch owner Chris Baden discussing court injunction keeping him from shooting on his own 1400 acre ranch, Rob Pincus talks training tour, Amber Kunau and Carrie Lightfoot discuss The Well Armed Woman, David Codrea wit and wisdom. [Listen]
I was on in the last half of Hour Three. We talked about Bloomberg's latest self-outing as a racist, the gun-free PA mall shooting by someone "legally" prohibited from having a gun, and more.

We're the Only Ones Stripped of Everything Enough

Kensington Sgt. Keith Barrow, 47, was suspended after a woman — who he paid $70 for sex — stole his police gun, badge and handcuffs while he was sleeping in a Reno hotel room, his lawyer said. The prostitute gave the weapon to her drug-dealing pimp, who accidentally shot himself in the leg with it the next day, police said. [More]
$186K/year and all he can afford is a $70 whore? Still, they ought to give him an award. After all, due to his actions, an armed criminal is now off the streets.

The story doesn't say if he's married, and I'm wondering if that might impact the goal of wanting to make it home at the end of his shift...

The Single Failure

The inability to enact new gun safety laws after the Sandy Hook school shooting ranks as "the single failure" of his tenure, Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a televised interview. [More]
But think of all those Mexicans you guys succeeded in killing with walked guns, plus you managed to keep everybody who deserved it out of prison.

Throwing Down the Gauntlet

Why don't we get together at the NRA Convention, somewhere off venue of course, and debate these issues? [More]
As the gadfly/mudbug rhetoric heats up, here's a chance to cool it down and focus on the truths behind the claims, instead of the personalities and emotions behind them. That ought to be the aim of us all.

I don't expect this proposal will be accepted, but if it were, I'd sure want to attend.

"Citizen Sam"

Possibly the ugliest troll I've yet encountered (and I've come across some real hive insect Bolsheviks) is polluting the comment thread over at my column on the tyranny enforcer Bratton making "resisting arrest" -- as defined by NYPD -- a lifetime firearms disability.

I can't tell if he's an Only One, a terminal copsucker, or a "progressive" seeking to disrupt, but in any case, this is a good example of a latter day "Good German" that's every bit the enemy of freedom as the most rabid leftist -- from his other Disqus comments, I'm assuming he fancies himself a "conservative" who's too stupid to realize he's a fascist. .

A Clique of Gadflies

Phil Watson with the Second Amendment Foundation criticized the “we will not comply” movement as a “clique of gadflies.” [More]
Really, Phil?

I repeat my challenge to you personally:

Deconstruct this, point by point. Tell us every assertion that's demonstrably wrong, and prove it.

Sorry you're so invested in what didn't work to where you need to publicly lash out at a new paradigm, and do so relying on ad hominem. I'm sure those he's attempting to appear "reasonable" to appreciate the sound bite, not that they won't turn around and paint the less confrontational as "extremists" whenever it suits their purposes.

This Day in History: February 9

The winter following, Nelson remained at this fort and was in it when Col. Willett advanced with a body of troops, February 9, 1783, with the intention of taking it by surprise. [More]
