I have to prep for AZ. I don't expect to be back posting until Monday.
If I don't catch comments, they'll have to wait, If I can't get to emails, Tweets and FB messages, I may not, depending on how many there are. The best thing to do would be to show some mercy and hold off so I'm not facing hours of processing when I get back.

Attacks on Ben Carson Show Sick Gun-grabber Preference for Death
It’s pretty revealing – not only do these sanctimonious … things not want their countrymen to have the capability of armed defense, they ridicule the concept and the faith of anyone who would presume simply to fight back with whatever means are at hand. That all goes back to their beloved “monopoly of force,” that is, a “monopoly of violence.” And CSGV knows who advocated that, because Executive Director Josh Horwitz wrote a HuffPo piece trying to justify it, citing the philosophical progenitor of the concept, German sociologist and political economist Max Weber. What he didn’t share was that his ideological hero Weber supported approving Article 48 into the Weimar constitution, establishing “emergency powers” to bypass Reichstag consent, and allowing Adolf Hitler’s rise to unchallenged power. [More]The stupid outraged Prozis are having a foot-stamping hissy fit over the exact same advice DHS gives for the last resort.
How Can You Tell André Carson is Lying?
Man, that's a tough one, especially with convincing arguments like this:

CUATF Credibility Validation Continues
The man who would be king |
The Obama administration has no plans to name a permanent director for the agency, and career agent Thomas Brandon has been serving as the acting chief since April.CUATF, September 22:
Word is, Brandon was advised this week he AINT the guy. He will not be nominated as a permenant Director. Sometimes they get it right.Everybody remembers where the first crack in the Gunwalker dam appeared, right?
Murphy's Law
Rep. Tim Murphy ... is the author of a bill that addresses the mental health issues he believes are central to the mass shootings crisis. [More]Just remember, Stalin "adjudicated" mental patients. And then remember another "law." If the Bill of Rights are going to apply to all, anyone subject to "gun disability" based on mental health ought to have the same protections afforded heinous criminals, that is, the equivalent of a jury trial -- otherwise we're putting the fate and the rights of people into the hands of those who may have a personal and/or professional conflict of interest. And ditto for "legal restoration" of rights-- I assume clear protocols are in place where a medical professional will not place malpractice charge concerns over the rights of a patient?
If not, I'd be revisiting that "A-" and endorsement.
We're the Only Ones Descending Enough
SWAT team descends on CO school over student’s Halloween costume [More]And Claudine Lamos hit the nail on the head. I'm sure Prozis decrying the "racist" reaction to Clock Boy will be similarly indignant.
The Dominant Message
I do self searches as a matter of routine, both for reputation management and to see how the work is propagating. Aside from just a regular search, I also check the Google "News" feed, which only picks up on "authorized journalist" sources.
It says something that the top two traffic-based slots, the links that most will ever see, go to the leftist lie pieces. That's one more reason why I ask regular readers who perceive getting value from the work, to return some value by regularly sharing my links.

Practicing Psychiatry without a License
Gun shops work with anti-suicide program [More]So what's the gun shop's liability if they actively participate in the program and then miss one?
Were I an FFL, I would absolutely deny a transfer to someone I perceived to be irrational, such as a Democrat. But I wouldn't formalize it into a program that would open the door to a "knew or should have known" criminal or civil charge. To do so voluntarily strikes me as ... suicidal.

GIGO
After it was discovered that GrC's mass shooting tracker website was using incidents involving pellet guns and passing them off as mass shootings I got curious as to what else was hiding in their lists. Perhaps unsurprisingly, the answer is quite a bit. [More]Interesting.
Between prepping for Arizona and following through on other priorities, I won't be able to look into this in a timely manner. My recommendation for those interested in knowing more is to use this as a launching point for your own validation efforts.

Silent Scream
A Chanute man was indicted Tuesday on charges of manufacturing silencers in violation of federal firearms laws, U.S. Attorney Barry Grissom said. [More]Obama nominee Barry sure looks pleased with himself.
I wonder if the "scofflaw" had any Chore Boys...?

Brooking No Competition
The men are accused of involvement in a conspiracy in which firearms were illegally purchased and sold, then smuggled to Mexico, authorities said. [More]Gee, where would they ever even get such an idea...?

"Conservative" Cover
McCarthy has a challenge from the right, and Cheney's statement should help McCarthy with some of the hardliners, in part by giving them conservative cover to support him. [More]Only if they're really phony establishment tools being deliberately indifferent to this and this.
UPDATE: The cover was all for naught. Let the Dolly the Love Ewe rumors begin in 3...2...1...
"Progressive" Diversity
Oh look, it's Opposite Day again. [More]
And I so want to be friends with people like her.
That said, what's with Piers Morgan Paradise arresting her for that? Yes, she's a crazed @#!*, and yes, any organization should have the right to disassociate from such a diseased lunatic, but I see no actionable threat here.
So much for "progressive" freedoms.

Is there a reason the first three paragraphs in this hit piece on Ben Carson end with exclamation points? Aside from intentional breathless sensationalism, as opposed to journalism? [More]
I'd imagine over the course of a career in neurosurgery, not every effort in sometimes desperate crapshoots is going to be successful, and the best possible outcomes may end up being far from satisfactory. Some things are broken and can't be fixed. I also note the sponge headline is definitive, but the narrative includes an "allegedly" qualifier. What happened in the lawsuits? Then again, maybe the guy has messed up, and were I or someone I loved the one who suffered, I don't think I'd be very forgiving.
I have reasons I've considered Ben Carson problematic, but being capable of blunders is not one of them. Show me a human being who is not.
This could cause real problems for his campaign via sound bites, hashtags and captioned posters to spread and amplify a poisonous meme. Deranged racism is one thing, but something like this can really hit home with people. I'll be interested to see how his campaign responds.

And here's a surprise:
And here's a surprise:
Diller has a long track record contributing to Democratic candidates. In the 2008 election he contributed to numerous Democratic candidates including Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden. But he also gave money to Republican presidential candidate John McCain...Gosh, you'd almost think Carroll Quigley was on to something...
