There IS Something Seriously Wrong

There is something seriously wrong with our democracy when Congress will not act on something favored by 97 percent of the voters. [More]
Yeah, if Question 1, despite Bloomberg millions and a media blitz, passed by less than 1% of the vote (with what pushed it over the top being heavily-populated, Democrat-dominated Clark County), that figure must be right.

The reason we recognize unalienable rights is to protect the individual from an ignorant, manipulated and deluded majority.  And besides, who thinks the gun-haters will stop at "background checks"?

I think your intro to Tom Mauser was this:

I can see that he hasn't 'evolved' ... isn't that how Progs describe conservative betrayal?

First off, 97% of Americans can't even agree that the earth is round.

Second, If that miracle of 97% agreement were to come to pass, Congress men and women would be falling all over themselves making sure they were seen on camera out in front of the charge. Getting whatever it was that 97% of the electorate agreed on passed into law would be a sure bet.

Third, if 97% of the folks in Alabama were to vote in favor of the return of slavery, they'd be out of luck, law or no law. Constitutionally protected civil rights are not subject to being overruled by a majority.

And that's all I have to say about that.
