The Self-Defense Menace Redux

We looked at this the other day. Jeremy Hatfield provides additional details, including a link to John Lott's dissection of what we just knew would turn out to be a BS agenda piece. [More]

Playing to the Gallery

The Virginia House of Delegates on Monday voted down a proposal to ban guns in the chamber's gallery while lawmakers are on the floor. The proposed change was defeated on a narrow, 48-49 vote along party lines with Republicans opposing the change and Democrats supporting it. [More]
Looks like Yancey cast the deciding vote.

Which means, due to Virginia gun owner apathy, it was dumb luck.

Out of the Blue

This Virginia law prohibiting weapons in a place of worship should join its blue law counterparts in the dust heap of history where it belongs. [More]
You'll note the Separation of Church and State atheists are keeping quiet on this one.

I See the Problem Here

Defense attorney Phil DiLucente argued that the shooting was self-defense even if his client’s fears were mistaken. But Allegheny County Assistant District Attorney Edward Scheid called the self-defense argument “meritless” and told jurors that premeditation can form in an instant. [More]

Yeah, "hate" doesn't seem too strong a word.

What are his qualifications to reorder things again...?

Other reports suggest the gunmen were carrying AK-47 machine guns and “came looking” for the young victim who is of Moroccan origin. [More]
Let me guess: They weren't wearing wooden shoes.

And yes, of course the natural question was anticipated.

Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Piers Morgan Paradise

The event took place in a controlled, safe environment with trained firearms officers. All the weapons were, of course, made safe prior to the event, no live rounds were in the area and all weapons had the yellow clips that show they do not contain live rounds. [More]
How do you get more appropriate than that?

We're the Only Ones Recognizing Enough

The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agency has officially gained agency-wide access to a nationwide license plate recognition database, according to a contract finalized earlier this month. The system gives the agency access to billions of license plate records and new powers of real-time location tracking, raising significant concerns from civil libertarians. [More]

“New Jersey cannot and must not become part of the race to the bottom,” said Murphy. [More]
Because the head start will make it unfair...?

It's a Knife to the Throat for the Rest of Us

When asked about illegal aliens, my wife says, "It's a slap in my dad's face.  My dad didn't bring us here to be Mexicans.  He brought us here to be Americans.  My dad followed the law and the rules, and those rules are there because it weeds out those who really don't want to truly be Americans, and those who pose a danger to the United States." [More]
We're about to find out if Trump is joining the slappers or if his latest "deal" is a ploy to make Democrats move themselves even farther away from what makes sense to most of the country. What those sentiments will be 10, 20 years from now is what's going to be determined.

You Mean They Have Double Standards?

Aw go on. [More]

Not that I consider a socialist country that imposes "gun control" to be much of an example of "freedom," and the relativism needed to make that argument excuses (actually, leaves unmentioned) a lot of sins.

We're the Only Ones In It for Kicks Enough

He was escorting the handcuffed man into the jail booking area when Carson kicked the man’s legs out from underneath him, causing him fall on his back onto the floor. [More]

A Bundle of Joy

"Demand action!"
Hallandale Beach Mayor Joy Cooper, who was removed from office Friday after being snared in an FBI sting, solicited illegal campaign contributions not only for herself but for two political allies, court documents say. [More]
Why do you think this report deliberately left out any reference to a relevant piece of political information...?

Cultural Marxism on full display. Where have we seen that before?

I've got no dog in this guy's fight, but I will note the claims against him appear to reflect more on those making them than on anyone else.

Noting that force was not alleged in any instance, if you don't want to blow somebody but do it because of career considerations, what does that make you? Ditto if you don't want to appear in sex scenes?

And that makes me wonder about the job pressure actors and actresses face to either submit or never work again -- what if you get picked for a minor Game of Thrones role or some such and have to perform what is essentially soft core porn, and if you balk, it's back to waitressing? Or what if a scene demands a passionate "same-sex" kiss, and if you decline you will be forever labeled a "hater" and your career hopes destroyed?

That the Hollywood #MeToo #TimesUp crowd is comprised of hypocritical narcissists, exhibitionists and sociopaths hardly comes as a surprise to those who have seen them take the "lead" for citizen disarmament from behind the protection of gated communities and security details.

'In Light-Hearted Political Commentary'

That's what they call a propaganda attack designed to delegitimize the faction they want to replace? That's some "straight reporting," AFP! [More]

Then again, AFP...

Nice to see Sniff Doggy Butt had a place of "honor" in a ceremony heavy on the #MeToo/#TimesUp.  Talk about an industry rife with sexplotiation, particularly in the genre exalted more than others. Too bad Russell Simmons wasn't there.

At least special guest and rape-enabler Hillary speaks their language. And I guess I shouldn't use it because, like another selective taboo, that's their word.

I'm reminded of a Halloween of years gone by.

I was still living in California, and four preteens, two boys and two girls, rang the doorbell for trick or treat. One of the girls said something and one of the boys said "Yeah, bitch!"

"Why do you talk to her like that?" I asked him, making sure he grokked the eye contact. "Why do you let him?" I asked her. "If you allow him to disrespect you and put up with abusive language, you're going to get abusive behavior."

They all tried to laugh it off and went on their way, but it's clear whose culture and values promote dignity for all who merit it. That's not the cultural influence those kids were immersed in.

So naturally, which culture is deemed the enemy to be destroyed?
