'About Us'

Republican Group Hits Donald Trump With Scathing New Billboard Campaign [More]
"Republicans for the Rule of Law"?  A "conservative group"?

That's what the leftists at HuffPo would like us to believe. They don't have an agenda, do they?

Here's their website, where I see they're soliciting donations-- and also presenting "conservative consensus" quotes with no indication that the politicians who said them have any actual affiliation with the group.

So who are these guys? Because all Who.Is shows is a proxy in Panama.

Ahh... "About Us"!

The very first guy they list on their "Legal Advisory Board"? Charles Fried.

He supported Obama in 2008.  Then he endorsed Hillary in 2016.

These guys are soliciting money and telling the marks they're "lifelong Republicans"?

Chris Gagin is a former staffer to a Democrat congressman. Slade Gorton voted against Bill Clinton's perjury charge in 1999 and did not vote for the Republican presidential candidate in 2016.

I've seen enough to know all About Them I care to.

Except that they're a 501(c)(4) project of Defending Democracy Together, and their "About Us leadership" includes William Kristol, Mona Charen, Linda Chavez, Christine Todd Whitman...

These people are every bit the enemy as Democrats. If this is where the Republican Party chooses to go, it is doomed.

Because look what their "moderation" buys them from the left.

In a rational society, after full due process resulting in proof beyond a reasonable doubt, such dangers would be eliminated.

Again, my concern is with a society that would reward such this.

We're the Only Ones Negligent Enough

But a close look at unintentional shootings by law enforcement officers, including at schools, raises doubts about whether more guns would help keep students safe [More]
So if I'm reading this right, you can't have a gun because only the police can be trusted with guns, but since the police can't be trusted with guns you can't be either...?

It would help if Martha offered some comparisons, or noted how average annual police qualification requirements involve less shooting than many people I know engage in over a typical weekend, but somehow, I don't think that's her agenda here...

I wonder if offering the opinion that a stupid woman is engaging in journalistic malpractice would be actionable?

Or do those in charge of such matters have other interests that take precedence?

I just became Facebook "friends" with Mr. Polishchuk. His story sounds fascinating.

It's been my experience that intelligent and moral people who have known oppression appreciate and fight for freedom.  Compare that to what so many ignorant, overprivileged young savages here are throwing tantrums to destroy.

This is my first impression, mind you. I intend to learn more. If you're intrigued as well, start with the above link. You can also go to my Facebook page and find him under "Friends."

System Working as Intended

Of the 345,547 ammunition background checks performed, only 101 stopped the buyer because he or she was a “prohibited person” who can’t legally possess ammunition, according to state Department of Justice data. Yet another 62,000 ammunition purchases were rejected as well. Those people left empty-handed because their personal information hadn’t been entered into the state’s system, or the information on their identification cards didn’t match what officials had entered into the California gun registry database, which retail sellers must review when they do the ammunition background check. Pensacola Murders Tell Us Much about Background Checks and More

It’s curious that while “universal background checks” are one of the key demands of the Democrat-dominated citizen disarmament lobby, they reverse themselves when it comes to letting foreign nationals of unknown ideologies into this country, particularly when it comes to illegals. Instead, they demand open borders, amnesty and admitting and embedding “refugees” in communities throughout the Republic, most for whom no checks are possible because such records either don’t exist or are unobtainable.
