Here We Go Again
The Disarm Everyone Who Has Ever Been in a Scuffle Act
To amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit the sale or other disposition of any firearm or ammunition to any person who has been convicted of a violent misdemeanor, and for other purposes. [More]
It's the "other purposes" we need to focus on.
I can see a lot of people of limited wherewithal who didn't do anything wrong getting caught up in a situation where a prosecutor threatens them with more charges unless they take a plea deal.
The bad news is John Wayne is out.
The good news is, Real Man is in (assuming he doesn't just p!$$ himself and cry).
GovTrack doesn't list this yet, so I can't see their prognosis, which I would guess will end up being around 2%. One real deficiency that the website has that needs to be addressed: Their "Issue Area" dropdown menu doesn't have a "Guns" category.

For some reason, I just recalled Jimmy Swaggert getting caught with a skanky whore, and his wife and supporters stood there in front of the congregation and the cameras and praised God because this was giving them all a grand purpose lesson in how to repent!
I guess in both cases, the important things are emergency damage control and keeping the money coming in.

The Devil is In the Details
Sen. Eric Burlison (R-Battlefied) pre-filed the legislation Wednesday. It would grant a person criminal immunity for using deadly force in self-defense unless the force is used against a law enforcement officer in the line of duty. [More]
And who will the burden of proof be on if you have to defend yourself against an "Only One" crossing that line?
I wouldn't be waving the flag and screaming "Second Amendment, f*** yeah!" until we find out.

The name on the unverified post matches his, but there are conflicting reports about what his Instagram handle was and several people who appear to be imposters have recently created Instagram accounts or are part of a group that celebrates his “work”. [More]
In a rational world, that would be probable cause to obtain warrants to identify and investigate them, and if corroborated by findings to initiate a full due process hearing to determine if the suspects can be trusted without a custodian.
Instead, we have "red flag laws" and LE being weaponized to expend resources conflating patriots with "white supremacists."

Whitley told deputies that he thought he was holding a replica BB gun when he tried to prank his friend and part-time employee by shooting him with it ...[More]
What kind of total @$$hole would even think to do that?
In any case, I'm not buying it. I don't believe a gun shop owner could be that incompetent and irresponsible. Did they offer training? That would be a good indicator of how likely such a "mistake" would be. I don't see a website and a Facebook page that appears to match has been locked down. In any case, their books would tell.
In case you can't tell, I have no sympathy for this guy. He has no excuse.
If it had been a BB gun he could have put an eye out and he knows that. Just for deliberately pointing it, he deserves to have been beaten into the ground.

Sounds Like a Non-Damn Apology to Me
Done to him by whom? It was Sebold who identified Broadwater, Sebold who drove his prosecution, Sebold who testified under oath, in court, that he raped her. Our “flawed legal system” consists of the police officers, prosecutor, and ultimately the jury that believed Sebold’s testimony–testimony that turned out to be false. There is no “system,” there are only people trying to do their jobs as best they can. And the person who perpetrated this injustice, far more than anyone else, was Alice Sebold. [More]
Narcissistic sociopaths always blame everyone and everything but themselves.
So what's the "flawed legal system" going to "do" to her?

It's Only 'Commonsense'
Mitchell is one of a number of public defenders who’ve sided with Second Amendment activists on this case. They argue that restrictive licensing, combined with a police force that is eager to charge Black and brown people with weapons possession, adds up to mass incarceration, and that loosening gun restrictions might right a tremendous wrong.
