The Italian Rapscallion

The rumor that Sylvester Stallone was issued a CCW permit struck my interest as I had recently been made aware that he had attended a Los Angeles event sponsored by the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence. The "Brady Bunch", as they are commonly referred to by gun-rights advocates, are one of the most well known organizations that are lobbying to take away our rights as lawful gun owners. I was also learning that Stallone had been quoted in the past saying some very anti-gun statements, even advocating door to door gun confiscations!

I've written about Sheriff Baca's corrupt celebrity suck-up policies before, as well as Stallone's (and other Hollywood Squares') astounding good-for-me-but-not-for-thee hypocrisy.

My hat is off to RifleGear.com for an outstanding piece of investigative reporting--I can't help but note that "authorized journalists," who look down on "amateur" bloggers, never bring us this kind of information.

In an update, we find the story has been picked up by Cam & Co. Anybody holding their breath waiting on CNN, CBS, ABC...?

THAT'LL Teach Him...

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca has revoked the concealed weapons license of a retired sheriff's captain who waged a fiery but unsuccessful campaign to unseat him in last week's election, a move the candidate's lawyer called "blatant retaliation"...

"This has nothing to do with retaliation or curbing one's democratic right to freedom of speech. This has to do with misusing department data and mechanisms"...
Ordinarily, I'd make some comment about permitting rights and abuse of power, but Larry Waldie has proven to be an unapologetic police statist, so I can't really get too worked up over what he perceives as an injustice done to him.

UPDATE: I made a big goof in this post. See comments for details.

We're the Only Ones Sexually Predatory Enough

"I asked him, 'Why are you doing this?' " the 42-year-old beauty parlor owner and mother of two said Wednesday. "He would not talk. He just kept raping me. I couldn't run. He was armed. He was a cop."
Yep. Good thing Sheriff Lee Baca has a policy of his guys being armed and the rest of us being defenseless.

L.A. Prisoner Killed in Chow Line

An inmate was stomped to death after he cut in front of two gang members in a dinner line...The attackers spent 10 to 15 minutes beating and stomping the victim's head...Sheriff Lee Baca ...said through a spokesman... that the department will begin segregating gang members charged with murder from other prisoners

The police will protect us?

They can't even protect you when you're in their custody, guarded 24/7. They know this, and use it to their advantage to enforce their will on inmates, to threaten them into compliance, and to get revenge for disobedience. Hell, Bill Lockyer, the highest law enforcement officer in the state of California, publicly relished the thought of jail sodomy as punishment for a man who, at the time, hadn't even been charged, let alone convicted of anything. And he's the same guy who says you have no individual Second Amendment right.

Make no mistake--defy an unconstitutional "gun control" law and get caught, and you will end up on your own in the nightmare animal pit. Remember that the next time Wayne LaPierre calls on the government to "enforce existing gun laws."
