Get Back on That Plantation!

Far Left Salon Mocks Disabled Black Woman With Gun In New NRA Ad [More]
But we're the racists.

And I'd reply to Shannon and ask her what kind of cover she provided her corporate masters for the black groundskeeper who a jury concluded they'd given cancer to, but suppressing her role takes priority over having that "national conversation on guns" the grabbers keep saying we're avoiding:

And if you want to argue about glyphosate, that's not the point. The left says they believe it-- I'm merely pointing out how they give selective passes to those pushing another part of their agenda, proving they are insincere opportunists who scream bloody murder when they can smear an enemy but sweep everything under the rug when one of their own gets caught.

About That 'National Conversation on Guns' the Antis Want to Have...

The totalitarian-minded want you dead. They want the government to kill you. They have no problem with the military executing citizens without due process on American soil if it's their bidding that is being done.

Aaaaaa Hooooo! Aaaaaaaa Hooooo!

In fairness, what place would it have when the object is to dictate terms of surrender?

It IS a Mental Disorder

But perhaps no incident better expressed the protesters' tenuous hold on sanity than a demonstration at the Supreme Court, where protesters — mostly women — broke through a police line and barged to the Court's chamber, where they proceeded to wail, gnash teeth, and pound at the doors while Kavanaugh was being sworn in inside. Just the people I want to have a "national conversation on guns" with.

About That 'National Conversation on Guns' The Antis Say They Want to Have

Moms Demand Action members posted, “Do[n]’t arrest them just shoot them, these people are crazy,” “Time to use an assault weapon on this trash,” “Just shoot them all…,” and “Mow them down.” Another added, “a**hats. no one has taken your guns. you are the ones causing problems. [P]lease just shoot each other.” [More]
I love it when MILMs do all the heavy lifting for us.

'Progressive' Communications Theory

Robert Grow, who organized the protest on behalf of the Summit County Progressive Democrats, had warned protesters not to engage with gun enthusiasts who might approach. [More]
Yeah, can't have any easily-refuted lies debunked.

So much for that "national conversation on guns" the liars keep demanding -- as long as it's one way, where they're the only ones who get to transmit and they've turned off their receiver.

Then again, what can you say to a fanatic who insists "The concealed carrying of weapons is nothing but vigilantism and the open carrying of weapons is nothing but the legalized version of a threat to do harm"?

All I can think of is two words, and the first one starts with an "f."

An Open Mind

I don’t care what you tell me. I’m blaming the National Rifle Association, its supporters, its law-making lackeys and anyone else who has promoted the idea we should all be paranoid gun-carriers... [More]

Captain's Log

* By the way, Herschel's link to the Moloch piece has a great example in comments of what that "national conversation on guns" -- the one "progressives" say they want -- looks like in practice:

The Mask is Coming Off

Radical as it may seem, perhaps it's time we took deadly force off the table for all but the most extreme of circumstances. In some countries, police don't even carry guns during day-to-day patrols and are still able to maintain law and order. [More]
And if our highly-trained, professionals are disarmed, why should we let you keep and bear arms?

This is something I've been pointing out for at least 15 years:

It's know making its way into the "national conversation on guns" with more frequency, and while I know some of you are fine with that, think through what that would mean, including how that does not make you a proponent of "gun control."

As for you "Only Ones" who have no problem coming after us mundanes, the bell is tolling for thee, and to quote a theme song of yours, "what'cha gonna do when they come for you?"

Polyphemus may promise to eat you last, but eat you he intends...

Me, I see such calls from zealots who just don't have the self-control to hold it all in as a good thing. Nothing like their ox getting gored to wake some people up, plus I'm sure the more pragmatic in the gun ban crowd would prefer not to have such plans openly discussed -- yet.

The Power to Destroy

White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest confirmed Monday that President Obama is "very interested" in the idea of raising taxes through unilateral executive action. [More]
Yeah, it's right there under Article.II. Section... well, I'm sure there's some precedent somewhere.  Who would even think to question it except some right wing extremist hater we'd better just keep an eye on...?

Speaking of Josh Earnest -- and what an Opposite Day "progressive" name that is -- did you catch what he said about the ammo ban?
The president has long believed that there are some common sense steps that we can take to, and what I mean is the federal government including Congress, to ensure that we are protecting the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding Americans...
Yes, by all means, let's allow these people to lead that "national conversation on guns" we're supposed to be having.

Can you imagine being Josh Earnest?  That's a weakness I have, because I still can't. Ultimately, I guess it's not important to know why a snake bites, is it?

Plastic Fantastic Lover

It works with plastic, it is fantastic, and I love it. [More]

So naturally, the antis want anyone who feels that way to die, and are even eager to help kill us.

Really.

Go read Kurt's piece. He not only explains, he shows.

Kind'a makes me want to go have a "national conversation on guns" and maybe even offer up a "compromise" or two in the name of "common sense." Either that or tell them to f*** off and come show me what they're made of.

How 'bout you?

So Much for that "National Conversation on Guns"

A new book scheduled for release next week reportedly says that the Obama administration preferred “politics over policy” when it “ignored a willingness by the gun lobby to help in the fight against illegal guns and gun violence”... [More]
"Illegal guns" is insulting and degrading. I insist on "undocumented firearms," which is an honorable term and a practice I wholly endorse.

I was privy to some private telephone discussions after Newtown along and some industry reps, "friendly" media types, and "lobby" folks, who felt we HAD to come up with SOMETHING for the politicians to give away. A few of us hardliners made it known in no uncertain terms that we would not cede an inch, nor allow them to get away with any more of their trademark "compromises."

That danger hasn't passed, by the way.  There are still some "leaders' who think the best way to dissuade circling jackals is to throw them a scrap of flesh, and the best way to protect their piece of turf is to throw someone else under the bus.

My position has not changed. Feel free to join me:
