With Emphasis on the 'Bang' Part

Tap Rack Bang posted these photos of a shotgun, sold and shipped to a Virginia dealer, which had been rigged to KILL the person using it. [More]
What with those "online sales" we see the antis melting down over, is it really a leap to wonder if some fanatic is trying to discredit this transfer option?  Let's hope a package trace can be matched to a corresponding security camera recording from the place of shipment.

It's Not About the Flag

NFL players on protesting: 'It's not about the flag' [More]
Don't tell us. Tell him:
"I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game.
And there's a real double standard when it comes to "free speech."

The thing is, it's really not about the flag. It's about two countries.

A Place in the Sun

There will be no outdoor activities between the hours of 9:00 am and noon. That means no outdoor lunch, recess or PE. Parents who choose to keep students home on August 21 may contact the school to have the absence excused. However, if you do choose to send your student to school, there may be opportunities to learn more about the eclipse, but from the safety of the classroom. [More]
Can't have the snowflakes melting.

In re the eclipse, the local WalMart told me last week their glasses were recalled, Best Buy wanted to upsell toother gear, and the bottom line is, I ended up using a cereal box and foil to make a camera obscura, which produces really unimpressvie results. I also took some "selfies," which you couldn't really tell anything from as the blackout here was far from complete. My regrets are I did not have a nearby primitive tribe I could convince I was a god, or a supply of old 3-D glasses I could stamp "ISO 9000" on and tell the local Young Marxist Losers for Annihilation chapter I liberated them from fascist oppressors.

I did notice it didn't feel anywhere near as hot during maximum occultation as before and after, but I'd better not talk about that because I don't want to be called a denier for suggesting the sun might have anything to do with "climate change."

I haven't been this underwhelmed since Y2K (which was actually good for my family, as the better half was a mainframe programmer consultant in high demand in the years before).

We're the Only Ones De-Escalated Enough

In making these determinations, the commissioners weigh not only an officer’s decision to fire his weapon, but also the tactics he used as the incident unfolded. And, even though an honest appraisal of such an incident would presumably require a certain level of experience and expertise, not one of these commissioners has ever served so much as a single day as a police officer. [More]
I guess I need to apologize for my entire "Only Ones" archive, because I never have either.

Any guesses on what "Jack Dunphy" would do if you told him you were keeping and bearing arms  as is your right but nonetheless unrecognized as such by LAPD enforcers? I wonder what "conservative" PJ Media would have to say about that...

We're the Only Ones Losing Enough

Laptop With "Highly Sensitive" Trump Data, Clinton Email Probe Info Stolen From Secret Service Agent [More]
Between that, taking 17 minutes to detect a White House intruder, known hostile agents and a professional assessment that "Trump is no longer safe in the Whitehouse," and nothing so much as a Goldfinger quote comes to mind.

We're the Only Ones Darwin-Awarded Enough

Darwin said having the head of a state agency focused on providing services to the poor ... carrying a gun and badge “does seem strange, yes.” [More]
Yeah, whoever heard of needing to defend yourself against that demographic?

The larger point of a bureaucracy being armed to the teeth evokes the words of Mr. Mason:
Who are the militia? They consist now of the whole people, except a few public officers.
And yes, funny that word used to describe much lower numbers collected by private citizens was never brought up...

On the Move

A bill to shut down most gun shops -- in Illinois, of course...  [More]

There's a laundry list of commonnonsensical bureaucratic harassment and police resource-wasting requirements that won't make a lick of difference where it's being purported to matter. But we all know that's not the real intent behind this anyway...

Who You Gonna Believe, Us or Your Lying Eyes?

The City of Phoenix has "No Guns" signs on its buses that it's not authorized to enforce.

This is from a Yahoo group that I'm not a member of, so the link won't work for you unless you are. Here's how they're saying the city responded to an inquiry about the signs:
Mr. Jones:

You recently inquired about a sign on our buses. The sign depicts various visuals and is intended to address the improper use of items such as weapons on our buses. Guns are and have been allowed on our buses. It is only when there is misconduct involving guns that the authorities are
notified. We have very few incidents, but the signs are intended to remind passengers that guns must be handled appropriately. We appreciate your concern regarding the rights that we all have in our community. If you see anything on one of our public transit buses that you believe is contrary to what I state here, we want to know. Please feel free to email or call me at the number below.

Thank you again for being a customer in our public transit system and for your concern. Best wishes in everything.

Damned if They Do, Damned if They Don't?

Of course, the point of view depends on if you believe truth trumps offended sensibilities of subversive enemies of Western civilization, or if you're a member of the UK Parliament. Notwithstanding that, I do like the term "digital gangsters."
