None But the Brave

Two Georgia gun dealers have agreed to monitoring in settling the federal lawsuit brought against them in 2006 by New York City. That leaves only Smyrna-based Adventure Outdoors in an unusual case set for trial next month.

..."[Adventure Outdoors co-owner] Jay Wallace will go as far as to hock his car and his shop and all the guns in to see this case through," attorney John Renzulli in an interview Friday night. "This guy has complete moral conviction that he did not do anything wrong. ... He feels he has been wronged and he's going to show the jury [New York] City is wrong. They sued the wrong guy."

So why would any Georgia gun owner give their business to one of the roll-overs, instead of to the man of principle?

What, Us Worry?

Classes are back in session this noon at Alfred University, after officials say a toy gun led to a lock down.

From the usual gang of idiots...

Not Relevant

After a weekend spent making direct appeals to gun owners and church goers, Hillary Clinton said Sunday a query about the last time she fired a gun or attended church services "is not a relevant question in this debate” over Barack Obama’s recent comments on small town Americans.

“We can answer that some other time,” Clinton said at a press conference held in a working class neighborhood here.

Yeah, she needs time for everybody to get their story straight. Maybe it was when she returned fire on that sniper...?

When you get to it, why not tell us about the last time you pulled a hunting tag, too?

"Be Prepared to Die"

St. Xavier University began evacuating its dormitories and shut itself down Friday evening after threatening messages were found on a bathroom wall.
Is that all it takes to get out of a test these days?

Even with "a professional Public Safety Department"? Those sure are a lot of "Only Ones."

And just for good measure:

"Despite repeated efforts by the gun lobby to legalize concealed carrying of guns, ICHV has been instrumental working with Illinois residents to prohibit the carrying of loaded, hidden handguns in public. ICHV has staunchly opposed concealed carry, and we have continued to be successful in prohibiting efforts to legalize the carrying of loaded, hidden handguns."

Yep, "Be prepared to die" sounds like advice to take to heart. Especially when the state won't allow you to be prepared to live.

That is, for those without the resolve of men to prepare to live in spite of dictates forbidding it.

Rate My "Only One"...

...is back online.

Easy as Ever

One year after the deadliest school shooting in US history, guns are as easy to find here as ever and Americans seem to like it that way.

Ever?

So I can walk into a hardware store and buy a pistol with no background check? Or own a current model machinegun?

AFP printed it, so it must be true...

No history of the colonization of America and our progress as a nation is complete without describing the earliest settlers and those following with a Bible in one hand and a gun in the other.
What most don't seem to realize is that history was once considered "today." They also don't seem to recognize that nothing in human nature and needs has really changed, either.

We're the Only Ones Between the Sheets Enough

Two troopers at the Sandusky post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol nearly lost their jobs after one snapped a photo of the other dressed up in a Ku Klux Klan-like outfit and sent the picture to another trooper.
That was mighty white of them.

OK, stupid judgment, no doubt.

But the "diversity awareness" Taliban is now showing these hapless oafs a whole 'nother level of "Only Ones."

The Good Grendell

Not this one.

This one.

In response to this.
Senator Grendell is a longtime supporter of our Second Amendment rights. He is also a cosponsor of SB 184, the Castle Doctrine.

At this time, Senator Grendell is working with the Sponsor of SB 184, members of the Criminal Justice Committee, and all of the interested parties to ensure that we are able to pass a bill that ensures Ohioans have the right to defend their homes and their lives.

To date, we have had five hearings on SB 184, and we plan on hearing the bill again next week. This is important legislation, and we want to make sure that we get it right. That means that it is taking a little longer than we originally anticipated. However, we are dedicated to getting this bill passed out of committee as soon as possible, which we hope will be as early as next week.

Thank you, once again, for your email in support of the Castle Doctrine and our effort to get a strong bill passed here in Ohio.

If you have any questions or would like a copy of the substitute bill, please let our office know.

Sincerely,

Roman Jerger
Administrative Aide
I'm sure all Ohio gun owners reading this have already sent their emails, right?

Riflemen

Mindful Musings brings us the latest liberty essay by Mike Vanderboegh.

A Prime Example

My heart has been full this week. Here, I'm adding my words to the volumes already preceded.
Mike H shares his thoughts on the passing of Charlton Heston.

A Community Hazard

An 84-year-old man who kept nearly 500 guns, 800 pounds of gunpowder and 75,000 rounds of ammunition at his Ridgefield home pleaded guilty Tuesday to creating a community hazard...

Instead of getting his guns back, Raymond also agreed to have a dealer sell them and turn over the proceeds...

Raymond admitted in court that he kept gunpowder in his garage, where static could have sparked an explosion and a fire in the neighborhood...

Raymond also admitted that he possessed a large-capacity magazine that could carry up to 30 bullets. It is illegal under state law to own a firearm magazine that carries more than 15 rounds.
So "could" is the new standard of guilt in New Jersey? I wonder how many homeowners in his neighborhood have gasoline cans in their garages that "could" release vapors and explode from a static charge?

And while "Investigators have tested the guns and determined that none of them had been used in a crime," I guess breaking an old man is a damn site safer than going after these guys.

She's One of Us!

She described herself as a pro-gun churchgoer, recalling that her father taught her how to shoot a gun when she was a young girl...
And to show us how much on our side she is:
She promises...To renew the ban on assault weapons and repeal the Tiahrt amendment, which restricts federal authorities from sharing gun-trace information with local law enforcement.

Good ol' Hill--the gun owners' champion.

Forgive me if I'm not sure what she means by "the faith of my parents and my grandparents"...

If, as with guns, the opposite of what she claims is true, I hesitate to wonder What she worships.

One Milwaukee, Two Milwaukee...

Or should that be "Mississippi"?

Anyway, about the most intelligent thing that comes to mind is the punch line to a really corny old joke.

"One Milwaukee" is yet another in a procession of "progressive" diversions that keep society from addressing the elephant in the room, that is:
And we also can't forget to look at race--not as a cause of violent crime, but as an indicator of populations most directly affected by and responsive to a continuing history of destructive government policies.

With Equal Patriotic Fervor

Fred Delia, co-owner of Delia's Gun Shop in Wissinoming, had a different take.

He said the gun crackdown "sounds like the British are coming back."

With equal patriotic fervor, he declared that Nutter and City Council should be arrested for violating state law and a 1996 Pennsylvania Supreme Court ruling that said only the state legislature can regulate firearms.

No, not "with equal patriotic fervor," you astoundingly ignorant "Authorized Journalist."

Nutter's fervor is treasonous.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

A state gun control group is holding a public forum on gun violence on the two-month anniversary of the Northern Illinois University shootings.

Members of the Illinois Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence are staging the forum at 7 p.m. Monday in a conference room at NIU's Naperville campus at 1120 E. Diehl Road.
So how about it, Illinois gun owners?

Are you going to let these guys dominate the message, or will more of you show up to record the proceedings and ensure the truth is known?

"I'M More in Touch...

No, I'M More in Touch!
John and Hillary stand up for we, the little people, as Thulsa fires back.

Me, I think I'll just go sit in a corner and cling to my gun.

God forbid "The Audacity of Hope" applies to people who stand for freedom instead of the farce playing before our eyes by these shameless Bolsheviks.

Under Pressure

No doubt Gov. Perdue is under lots of pressure to veto this bill...

I don't see why there'd be a problem. I mean, the guy is into sporting clays...
