From BATFU to BFF

From "Maximum Mike" to "Moderate Mike":

Sullivan added that most licensed gun dealers are law-abiding and that, to be fair, ATF needs to apply the rules more uniformly across the country.
Holding out the olive branch:

We don't even want the Alabama Free Militia people to be injured...
We just want them to, you know, obey us or be destroyed.

Why how very reasonable and common sense.

This is a dangerous time. If Congress does not pass a new "assault weapons" ban, who wants to lay odds that BATFU won't step up efforts to "reinterpret" things...?

Meanwhile, Over in Sarah Brady Paradise

Japanese professionals in their thirties are killing themselves at unprecedented rates, as the nation struggles with a runaway suicide epidemic.

Newly published figures show that 30,093 people took their own lives in 2007 — a 2.9 per cent increase in a year — leaving the country as the most suicide-prone anywhere in the developed world and rendering government efforts to combat the problem a failure.
If it's any help, our "experts" here say citizen disarmament is effective at reducing suicides. Maybe you could try that?

We're the Only Ones Making You Kneel Before Us Enough

"Are you going to kneel there and argue with me all goddamn day? … How about nodding your head and saying 'OK, yeah I won’t do it again'." [More]
Listen to the audio of the encounter, linked at the bottom of the article, and prepare to have your blood boil. These brownshirts exemplify the odious and unmerited elitism that is "The Only Ones."

Yo: Bob Barr! Libertarian Party!

Forget something?

If you'd like to know what he's got to say for himself for supporting the Lautenberg Amendment, send an email to his campaign and to the LP and tell them you expect a candidate who is truly different to give a straight answer.

Of Course it's Fair...

A hotel busboy noticed that Spittles had a gun. And what a gun it was. Police found it, and noticed its serial numbers had been filed off—a federal offense the last time I checked. They also found recreational drugs.

In the lockup, Spittles kept insisting—gun or no gun—that he'd walk in a few minutes. But not before he spit on a female sergeant, told her to find another female to have sex with and made rude comments to other cops who wanted to slap him.

But they couldn't. Because just then, in walked a powerful Chicago alderman and that alderman walked him out, just as Spittles had predicted.

"The Chicago Way," indeed.

"Spittles." "Pastries." "Little Pistol."

You gotta be kiddin' me. It sounds like a damn episode of "The Sopranos."

This was forwarded to me by my editor and he got it from Don Kates, who introduced it by writing:

The column...reminds me of a debate I had w/ Sam Fields [GeneralCounsel of Handgun Control Incorporated. See HANDGUN PROHIBITION AND SOCIAL NECESSITY] 30 years ago in front of the law school. Though he was volubly and OSTENSIBLY an advocate of total handgun prohibition and confiscation, when I pointed out that under NY's extreme anti-gun regime the publisher of the NY TIMES had a permit not just to own a handgun but to carry it everywhere, Fields response was that he saw no problem w/ "Punch"Sulzberger carrying a gun.

Out of Africa

Somalis flee terror, pour into Kenya refugee camp...

Forget it Jake. It's Africa.

Yet all the enlightened liberals sneered at the late Neal Knox for suggesting arming Somali mothers would enable them to defend their children.

We see over a decade later the fruits of doing things the IANSA/UN way.

I see over in Tanzania, albinos are being hunted down so witch doctors can extract skin, bones and hair to make potions. I wonder if the shamans collaborate with their Canadian colleagues and peers?

And meanwhile, no less an authority than Mia Farrow is urging us to stop the genocide in Darfur.

Naturally, she and useful idiots like her are the first ones screaming blue bloody murder against non-politically correct/Hollywood endorsed foreign interventions, and none of them seem to understand that revolutions are won by the people rising up and taking control of their own destinies. To do that, they need the tools.

So where does Mia stand on the only proven deterrent against genocide?

The following is from "The Fandom Menace," my first published article for GUNS & AMMO (Nov. 1999), and unfortunately, not available online:

Mia Farrow, elaborating on the Second Amendment to anti-gun Larry King: "It's time to amend that right." (Like all rich socialists, she sees the Bill of Rights as a menu of privileges bestowed by government, and thus revocable. The concept of unalienable rights not subject to mob opinion no doubt affronts her democratic sensibilities.)

She has a number (toll-free, naturally) where fans can "find out who their congressman is." (You don't expect them to already know, do you? Who better to demand Constitutional change than people so detached from the process that they don't even know who their representatives are?)

On why the Second Amendment is no longer is applicable: "There were muskets or something…" (Aren't informed opinions wonderful?)

A scrap for the vassals: "I'm not talking about hunting guns [but about] guns used to kill people." (God help me, I'm starting to sympathize with Woody Allen. How on earth could anyone endure such impaired reasoning?)

As long as we're locked into primitive superstition, the killing will continue. Matter of fact, as we continue to replace reason with feeling in our own governance, hope won't be enough to stop the type of change that always results in widespread and very real misery.

We're the Only Ones Psychic Enough

The mother of an autistic girl says the public school board was "completely unprofessional" to formulate a theory that her daughter was being sexually abused based on a psychic's perception.
Forget it, Jake. It's Canada.

You don't need to be psychic to know what will happen to freedom--hell, to life itself--if "Only Ones" are permitted to enforce tribal magic. Any civilized human being would be justified to repel these witch doctor savages by whatever means necessary, and with whatever weapons at hand.

Freedom of Speech--Within Reason and as Allowed By Law

I can understand Canadians going after Mark Steyn for speaking candidly about the effects of radical Islamist influences in his native land. It's a Chinatown thing:

Forget it, Jake. It's Canada.
But naturally, there are domestic enemies in this country who think we need to be more like our neighbors to the north (south, east and west).
“It is not clear to me that the Europeans are mistaken,” Jeremy Waldron, a legal philosopher, wrote in The New York Review of Books last month, “when they say that a liberal democracy must take affirmative responsibility for protecting the atmosphere of mutual respect against certain forms of vicious attack.”
This guy's a professor. Why does that not surprise me?

And then you have the idiot former New York Times columnist arguing against "the imminence requirement."
“I think we should be able to punish speech that urges terrorist violence to an audience, some of whose members are ready to act on the urging,” Mr. Lewis wrote. “That is imminence enough.”
Think this would qualify, especially when the government gets to be the ones to decide just who qualifies as a "Homegrown Terrorist"?
Honour, justice, and humanity, forbid us tamely to surrender that freedom which we received from our gallant ancestors, and which our innocent posterity have a right to receive from us. We cannot endure the infamy and guilt of resigning succeeding generations to that wretchedness which inevitably awaits them, if we basely entail hereditary bondage upon them...

With hearts fortified with these animating reflections, we most solemnly, before God and the world, declare, that, exerting the utmost energy of those powers, which our beneficent Creator hath graciously bestowed upon us, the arms we have been compelled by our enemies to assume, we will, in defiance of every hazard, with unabating firmness and perseverence, employ for the preservation of our liberties; being with one mind resolved to die freemen rather than to live slaves.
What about this?
"Tell me," I was once asked, "What do you think about gun control? Give me the short answer." To which I replied, "If you try to take our firearms we will kill you."
Careful there, neo-Marxist eggheads. You're getting awfully close to a tripwire.

I guess these guys think they'll end up with cushy jobs and privileges at the Ministry of Truth, instead of, you know, being tortured and executed?

We're the Only Ones Protecting You from Yourselves Enough

...the city is now changing the rules and will not allow any more people to return to their homes.

Because obviously, "The Only Ones" know best.

I do think a special Eloi Award is due to refugee Veronica Johnson for the following bit of blind trust:
We have no right because they're trying to protect us.
Congratulations, Veronica. Because you have pleased us, we will eat you last.

Not really, but then again, we're sure you'll find some rationalization to excuse us, because you "understand safety comes first."

Following Procedures

This sensitive US military counterinsurgency manual could be critically described as "What we learned about running death squads and propping up corrupt government in Latin America and how to apply it to other places".
Like, what kinds of "other places"...?

Enquiring "Homegrown Terrorists" want to know...

In the mean time, it makes for interesting reading. I recommend saving a copy of the file rather than assuming it will always be available online.

In All "Fairness"

From Michael Dukes:
I just signed a petition opposing the so-called "Fairness Doctrine" and similar efforts to silence conservative host like Rush Limbaugh, Mark Levin, Glen Beck and myself.

Now I understand that liberal leaders are blocking an effort to protect the rights of conservatives.

At least if your looking for 'Fairness' this legislation should also apply to television/cable as well.

Please join me in signing this petition:

http://www.mrcaction.org/512/petition.asp?PID=16873840&NID=1

I'm not sure how much good this will do, but I like Michael and if he asks for my help that's good enough for me. I do, however, always caution against giving complete addresses and phone numbers on these things, and also advise checking the "no email" boxes.

We're the Only Ones GLBT-Bashing Enough

"Actually he was trying to get me to come over to where he was, and I responded by telling him that wasn't my name - that my mother didn't name me a 'faggot' or a 'he-she,' so he got upset and approached me. And that's when it started."
Somebody beats you in the head and face with cuffs, that's assault with a deadly weapon. It sure would be were the situation reversed.

As usual, we have the apologist telling us how this is an aberration and not the norm for the fine folks at the Memphis PD--but that doesn't explain why the animal felt free to administer a vicious beating right there in the main booking area--why no one stopped him--and why he was actually joined. It doesn't explain why the nurse ignored the victim.

All that is left to conclude is that it's not out of the ordinary, but rather, expected, condoned, encouraged, aided and abetted--and rewarded as long as you don't get caught.

And as usual, we know the victim's name but not the sociopathic, brutal "Only One."

We're the Only Ones Committing Highway Robbery Enough

Drivers caught speeding in this north Atlanta suburb soon will have to pay an extra $12 — to cover $4-a-gallon gas costs for the police officers who stop them.
Gotta keep Sergeant F..k-Buddy Morrison (!) from starving to death from the looks of things. Oh, I'm sorry, bad eyes, that's "F.K. 'Bucky'."

Without realizing it, "The Only Ones" are more and more becoming bad parodies of Dennis Moore:

Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore
Riding through the land
Dennis Moore, Dennis Moore
Without a merry band
He steals from the poor.
And gives to the rich
Stupid bitch.

(Dennis Moore reins to sudden halt and looks over to camera.)

Dennis Moore:
What did you sing?

Singers:(speaking)
We sang... he steals from the poor and gives to the rich.

Dennis Moore:
Wait a tic... blimey, this redistribution of wealth is trickier than I thought.

Avoiding Tyranny

TSA has its rules and Williams has his, and one of mine is to avoid tyrants and idiots.
If only they'd let us.

True, we can for the most part avoid flying.

But the thugs impose themselves on us in so many other ways.
