Jer...uh...KirkWatch

We've been following the latest treachery in the form of an "assault weapon" ban by Republican Mark Kirk. Here are some new observations:

Sean says it's about registration, and we know where that leads to. You're not wrong, Sean, that's one of the results.

What do you do if you're a "moderate republican" who attacks gun owners and they give you the response you deserve? Go crying to your democrat friends about the mean old "right wing gun zealots/loonies."

What a political genius you are, Mark Kirk, as is your sycophant, Team America. What better way to win a toss-up race than poking a stick into this hornet's nest--and keeping it up?

Speaking of T&A, "Anonymous" posted a comment (at June 22, 2008 2:45 AM) showing us how to recognize techniques used to manipulate an argument--which is all some have left to them when the truth isn't on their side. Funny how that always seems to be the case with control nazis and their mantra-chanting drones.

It Beggars Belief

It doesn't make any sense to me. Great successes have been won in defending the Second Amendment recently but the fight isn't over. Obama and the Democrats might be in power soon- and Republicans Kirk and his Republican co-sponsors Castle, Ferguson and Shays have put forward anti-gun legislation. It beggars belief.

Not once you come to accept the fact that you're being bare-ass naked in the town square conned.

Our friend from across the pond, Cryptic Subterranean, gives us his perspective from the UK on scuttling the miserable Mark Kirk. This guy supports American Constitutionalism more than most gun owners I know--by a long shot. That such as he still exists over there is a cause for hope.

And by the way--I put yesterday's post up in a rush. I'll get to the other 3 GOP stooges, Castle, Ferguson and Shays next week.

Smokey Mountain Traders Update

I went in and spoke with the owner today...

I asked about what I read in the news and he informed me that it was the regular ATF visit and they found a form that didn't have Male/Female box checked and they told him "We can shut you down for this". From what I could tell, he was tired of the ATF's strong arm tactics and abuses. He said he decided to quit selling firearms, so he gave them the license.
We talked about this here.

Harass dealers out of existence with bureaucratic nitpicking. Do it to everybody. I guess this is what "Maximum Mike" meant by "apply[ing] the rules more uniformly."

This Dud's for You?

Note on InBev's bid to take over Anheuser-Busch...

You knew that Ambev (InBev group, on Brazil) was a major donor campaign to prevent the Brazilian citizen possessing arms and ammunition?
We shall see what develops, and if it results in any policy changes.

I'm a Beck's Dark man, myself, although there is something more than a little creepy about advertising that you comply with the Reinheitsgebot, a German Purity Law, albeit one from 1516. That, of course, is before they knew about microscopic organisms, so I can only assume it referred to how many rats could be pickled in the barrel and still get a pass...

Behind Closed Puertas

Republican presidential John McCain assured Hispanic leaders he would push through Congress legislation to overhaul federal immigration laws if elected...

...But supporters who were in the room denied that McCain held the closed-door session out of fear of offending conservatives, many of whom want him to take a harder line on immigration.

Nothing to see here.

I'm sure The Award-Winning John McCain had a perfectly good reason for meeting in secret...

The Chocolate Paradox

Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama said on Friday he expects Republicans to highlight the fact that he is black as part of an effort to make voters afraid of him.
Meanwhile, Thulsa supporter Spike Lee is...uh...highlighting the fact that he is black.

What's Good for the Gus...

Few Americans would invite an investigation by the Internal Revenue Service, but that's exactly what Minnesota pastor Gus Booth wanted when he stood behind his pulpit and told his congregation God wanted them to vote Republican.
Who the hell does this guy think he is?

Snuffy Pfleger?

GOP Women Show Cracks

Uhh...it's not my title, honest.

But it is illustrative of the Big Tent Bolsheviks who have replaced Constitutionalists in the center ring, and relegated advocacy of principles to the midway barkers and sideshow freaks.

Jillian Manus-Salzman, Susan Eisenhower, Harriet Stinson...perhaps one of you could show us where "funding birth control and support of sex education" are within the purview of the executive...?

And this is enough to get you rich and privileged old Establishment broads to jump ship for The Lightworker?

But it's all rigged anyway. Now that he's no longer needed to clear the field, "Maverick" John McCain, the darling of the media, will henceforth be portrayed as the "evil conservative" they'd like us to believe he is.

And it's working.

We're the Only Ones Negatively Impacting Others Enough

A Santa Clara County sheriff's deputy was charged Thursday with two misdemeanor manslaughter charges after he ran down three competitive bicyclists in his patrol car in Cupertino, killing two and injuring the third...

Council crossed the center line on Stevens Canyon Road in Cupertino and struck the three cyclists at 10:25 a.m. on a Sunday, authorities said. Witnesses at the scene said there were no skid marks and that the officer said he had fallen asleep at the wheel.

And it's the job's fault. Long hours.

We've all worked long hours. I'm just wondering if the same charges would have applied to any of us under similar circumstances, not being "Only Ones" and all.

We all know what it's like to go the extra mile for a paycheck. But we all have a responsibility to make sure our pursuit of that paycheck doesn't put others at risk.

we're d 1ly 1s txtN nuf*

The ruling stemmed from a lawsuit by Ontario Police Sgt. Jeff Quon and three others against the city's service provider and the city and Police Department for violating the 4th Amendment prohibition against unreasonable search and seizure.

...Quon and another officer exceeded a department limit of 25,000 characters per month for texting. The police chief ordered a subordinate...to determine whether the pagers were being used purely for work purposes.

...The city determined that many of Quon's messages were personal, and several were sexually explicit.
so d 1ly 1s now rSpect d 4th?

Scuttle Mark Kirk: It's Past Time for an Example

Way past time.

Bear with me while I connect some dots.

Western Rifle Shooters Association analyzes the new federal "assault weapons" ban bill.

Note the Orwellian purpose these liars use: "To reinstate the Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act."

The head liar behind this tyranny is "Republican" Mark Kirk. We've met this piece of...work before.

45superman tells us about bearding the lyin..uh...lion in his den--or at least his apologists.

The chief apologist is your typical obnoxious RINO who calls himself "Team America"--fitting for someone who sounds like a wooden-headed marionette. Per this great patriot:

I myself own a Baretta92 with several high capacity clips. I also support concealed carry - for me - not sure about the rest of the yahoos out there (but that's another debate).

But do I really NEED my Baretta to carry 15 bullets instead of 10? I think I'd be OK without the extra firepower.

Do we NEED guns that can shoot right through a policeman's vest?

Do we NEED .50 caliber rifles that can take down a plane?

Rambo might say yes, but Mark Kirk says no, and I happen to agree with him.

Go read the post and the comments. Get good and mad at these devoid-of-all-principle aparatchiks. Then give 45s some backup and let these weasels know what you think of them.

Here's the thing: If you're a gun owner and live in District 10, you can continue to cede the GOP to the Big Tent Bolsheviks--or you can send a wider message that what worked in District 10 can be applied in every district in the land.

It's amazing what behavior modifications a little judicious human sacrifice can produce--even people who aren't true believers will fall in line if for no other reason than self-preservation.

There is another choice, you know. And for those soulless cowards over at Team Amerika for Gungrabbing Traitors, who say this will just ensure a win for Dan Seals, who will then take all our guns, well--y'all are WarOnGuns regulars. You know what to say to that.

This is the perfect candidate to make an example of--he's just been downgraded from "Lean R" to "Toss Up," so he's vulnerable--and in a close race, it doesn't take much at all to tip the scales.

"But if Mark Kirk loses, you'll lose all your guns, not just the ones we want to ban!" they bleat, like we haven't heard that one before.

What's that Tweety Bird line? "He don't know me vewy well, do he?"

Newsflash: I won't lose any rights unless I surrender them or they are stripped from me by overwhelming force. Besides which, the decision to surrender or not is mine.

Let the Team Amerika comments sink in and ask yourself if you really want to let that gaggle of party hacks dictate the terms under which they will surrender your rights...

Which would you rather see scuttled? Your political voice or tyrant wannabe Mark Kirk's bid for ever more coercive power?

We're the Only Ones Taking a Tip from a Cop Who Does

Jacksonville police are investigating an anonymous allegation that a narcotics detective was providing inside information about criminal activity to at least one female acquaintance who used it to collect reward money.
I can't be the "Only One" who saw that coming...

What Does It Say About a Government...

And what does it say about citizens who put up with--and in many cases demand it?

The US military cannot locate hundreds of sensitive nuclear missile components, according to several government officials familiar with a Pentagon report on nuclear safeguards...

One official said the number of missing components was more than 1,000.

Sounds like time for the feds to crack down on more gun stores.

We're the Only Ones Wakey Wakey Eggs and Bacy Enough

Troy Molde awoke at 3 a.m. Thursday to police flashlights shining in his face. Two uniformed Lakeville officers were in his bedroom, knocking on the wall to wake him up.

They were there, they said, to warn him to keep his doors closed and locked.
A personalized wake-up call, "Only Ones" style.

And yeah, Troy sounds like he needs to wake up. It's a question of how.

A Turnaround for Wayne?

But times have definitely changed, and LaPierre—predicting that he will be vilified for bringing it up, “but I don’t care”—told the audience that “The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun.”

“Instant responders,” he said, alluding to armed teachers, school staff or in the case of college campuses, armed students, “are always better than first responders.
Welcome aboard. It's about damn time.
