We're the Only Ones Fundraising Enough

More Tickets in Hard Times

Cities searching for revenue look to their police departments as a way to cash in. [More]
Hey, why should your hard time be their hard time?

The issue should be safety? Good one!

So what if you can't afford it? You'll just have to do without something else. Your brats don't need milk every day.

But you will come up with the money. It's not like you can do anything about it.

Gotta pay for "Only Ones," you know--so that they can keep on...protecting you.

UPDATE: And look--they don't just write them for money. They can also write them for revenge! [Via Jeff H]

UPDATE 2: And there is still more motivation for an enterprising fixer-upper... [Via DJK]

Meddling with Powers

Rep. Grant Burgoyne, D-Boise, spoke against the bill, saying no one ever expects to see an invasion or a declaration by the governor of martial law, but no one expected to see planes crashing into the World Trade Center either.

"We're meddling here with one of the most fundamental and necessary powers, and I think we need to be very careful how we do that," he told the House. [More]

Interesting perspective--it's not government infringing on your rights, it's you meddling with their powers.

I'd say this country isn't big enough for such divergent philosophies. Something's gotta give.

Who do you think will fold first: You or Grant?

Teach Your Children Well

Per M Terry:
How much h....s... can an "authorized journalist" spew in three minutes of video?

BSNBC reporters on the job...

Couldn't find any contact info. Little wonder - if they were taken to task for spouting bullcrap they'd have to have a legion of ombudsmen on staff...

Special Forces in Iraq use semi-auto AR-15s? And where's the AK-47?

The kids look like they're having a ball--reminds me of some of the teaching adventures I had with mine. The boy has such an endearing laugh...

Must be tough for the narrator to realize a seven-year-old girl is more capable than he at an essential adult responsibility.

Better not tell Bodyguarded Boss Daley though...he's even less of a man.

We're the Only Ones "Say Cheese!" Enough

Two years ago, a Pennsylvania man was thrown in jail for 160 days for refusing to allow police to take his picture. [More]
And what happens if a lowly citizen tries to make it a two-way street and photograph an "Only One"?

Yeah. That's what I thought.

Gun Carry Law Shut Down Over Environmental Impact

A federal judge ruled there must be a full review of the possible environmental impact of allowing citizens on national properties to carry concealed guns in holsters rather than locked cases. [More]
WorldNetDaily's Bob Unruh weighs in on the recent national parks gun ruling.

He quotes extensively from me and from fellow GRE Ed Stone.

If you like such articles and inclusions, they do take letters. It certainly wouldn't hurt to let them know you'd like to see them use us as sources and link to our columns more...

You might also tell them the link they gave for my column doesn't work...and when a poor writer gets paid by page views...

UPDATE: Emailed the reporter. They fixed the link.

Freedom Fighter Radio

I'll be on.

Tonight.

Blame Criminal, Not Guns for Oakland Shootings

It also sidetracks our attention from what we should be focusing on: the criminal.

And how is he presented?
Oakland shooter unable to escape cycle of violence...

Family members, angry and upset after their loss, describe Mixon as an deeply frustrated young man who likely snapped under the weight of opportunities missed or denied.
Personal choices have nothing to do with it, you see. It's not like he had anything to do with the "cycle of violence," is it? [More]

Much of the media is focusing on banning guns and sympathy for the Oakland killer. Today's Gun Rights Examiner column is an attempt to steer the debate back in the right direction.

Also get the latest from my fellow GREs.

Please read the column and share the link. And Digg if you're inclined. If a small fraction of regular WarOnGuns readers were members there and helped propagate these links, it could literally increase Examiner column readership by tens of thousands by pushing them to the front page before the resident Marxist Liberty Suppression Brigade could bury them.

This Day in History: March 25

The Only Other One I Know Besides the "Man from Nantuckett"

A criminal from Limerick said
I'll put this gun next to me head
Then he made it go bang
And it scared the whole gang...

...who probably couldn't tell the difference, since this Darwin Award finalist was obviously brain dead to begin with. [More]

Gun Rights Examiner on Andy Caldwell Show

That would be me, tonight at 6:00pm EST/3:00pm PST on KUHL AM1440 Santa Maria. You'll note in the top right corner of their page there is a provision for live streaming.

We're going to talk about "Ammunition Accountability."

We're the Only Ones Exempt Enough

Delegate Mark Hunt, D-Kanawha, is co-sponsor of HB3248, a bill aimed at adding members of the Legislature to a list of officials and others who are allowed to skip the waiting period and carry a firearm. [More]
Because everyone knows a threat on "Only One" Mik...uh...Mark Hunt is much more serious and deserving of an expedited response than a threat on you or me...

Don't these parasites have Barbies to ban or something...?

And might such conduct make us wonder why some people are apparently upset?

Meanwhile, Over in CCW-Free Santa Barbara

Business window shattered by gunfire on Milpas Street in Santa Barbara. [More]
Here's a video clip of the feral morons being rescued.

I left a comment thanking Sheriff Bill Brown for ensuring by mandate that everyone except "Only Ones" and "criminals" are armed. I don't see it posted yet.

Feel free to add your voice.

Oakland Shootings Show Uselessness of 'Gun Control'

Being a "prohibited person," it was illegal for Mixon to touch any gun. It was illegal for him to have a handgun, to carry it, to kill with it. And California has "assault weapon" bans that cover not only the model Mixon used, but also the characteristics...

The other problematic choice of words? Using the term "Automatic rifle."[More]

Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at some of the basics in the way the Oakland shootings are being reported.

Also learn about the new Gun Rights Examiners website and read the latest from my fellow GREs.

Please read and share.

Getting the Word Out About Gun Rights Examiner

I'll be on a couple radio shows and wanted to get the word out--I was going to append these announcements to the column I couldn't post today due to site server problems.

Anyway, click here to read this announcement. I'll be back with my regular GRE column tomorrow.

I Still Can't Access Examiner

Apparently there are intermittent server problems and the tech team is working on it. Some of you can access it and others cannot. I'm in the "cannot" faction.

Because the opportunity to capture traffic today has been so severely impacted, I'm going to hold off posting what I wrote for today about the Oakland shootings.

In the mean time, keep trying to see if you can access my page for what I posted over the weekend. I have an announcement for this Thursday I think the regulars here will appreciate.

UPDATE: Everything appears to be working again.

There Oughtta Be a Law

Now, Jessie's parents are attempting to launch a national campaign seeking laws to address "sexting" - the practice of forwarding and posting sexually explicit cell-phone photos online. The Logans also want to warn teens of the harassment, humiliation and bullying that can occur when that photo gets forwarded. [More]
The Logans are free to warn anyone they want about anything they like. As for the rest of it, my natural inclination to feel sympathy for them has been overshadowed by more negative sentiments.

We're the Only Ones Certified Enough

Cutts was one of 10 officers convicted in the past five years that the AP found still had the authority to make an arrest or carry a gun, at least on paper. [More]
So according to the law, a convicted murderer "Only One" is technically still more trustworthy to keep and bear arms than I am...?

[Via Ron Bokleman]

Propaganda is Routinely Being Parroted

“Firearms are routinely being transported from the U.S. into Mexico in violation of both U.S. and Mexican law,” William Hoover, assistant director of field operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), told the subcommittee. [More]
If that's true, it does kind of show you how well those laws work at stopping bad guys, doesn't it?

I truly am tired of these opportunistic functionaries.

Hey Bill--tell me which gun store or "damned American gun show" I can go to to pick up a few cases of full-auto battle rifles and grenades.

One north of the border, I mean.

Gun Rights Examiners Launch Website

While we're waiting for the official Examiner.com site to stop producing error messages, I want to introduce you to a site you can go to that will give you "one-stop shopping" for all Gun Rights Examiner commentary--mine as well as the folks handling a dozen cities nationwide.

Check out (and bookmark) www.gunrightsexaminers.com. It's the creation of Cleveland GRE Daniel White, and I'm very grateful that he took the time, made the effort and showed the leadership to do this. It's especially been a pain because Examiner urls are long and convoluted--so this give us a common link we can use to better publicize our work.
