“Which of the following is an example of low-level terrorism?”Does this make me a suicide blogger?
— Attacking the Pentagon
— IEDs
— Hate crimes against racial groups
— Protests
The correct answer, according to the exam, is "Protests." [More]

I, "Low-Level Terrorist"
We're the Only Ones Revoked Enough
A district court judge has upheld a decision to revoke Ashland Police Officer Ed Pomponio's license to carry a gun. [More]But fear not:
Pomponio joined the Ashland Police force last year, and is still permitted to carry a gun while on duty there.Interesting classification of "Only One." If I understand this right, he's not considered trustworthy enough to carry a gun unless he's in a position of authority over you and me, and then he automatically gets his judgment back.
Did I miss something?
We're the Only Ones Well-Grounded Enough
A Suffolk police officer chasing a suspect on foot in Brentwood on Tuesday accidentally fired a bullet at the ground, police said. [More]Because, you know, he's the "Only One" professional enough...
And no, you may not know his name.
We're the Only Ones "Reunited and it Feels So Good" Enough
"The only thing that stood between Marxist street thugs and public order was a thin blue line of dedicated, tough Chicago police officers.... [More]So...who are the "Only Ones" standing between the Marxist street thugs and the public now?
Forget it Jake. It's Chi-Town.
I wonder what their commemorative T-shirts will look like...?
Clay and 12th

A man who was fatally shot Thursday night on Clay Street near 12th Avenue North has been identified as a Metro Schools assistant principal. [More]Clay and 12th?
Y'know, if that turncoat Phil Bredesen hadn't resigned himself to not provoking another veto override, guess who the people stopped by a park gun ban would have been?
Hint--not the guy who shot the principal.
In light of this murder, who thinks using "opt out provisions" to make Buena Vista Park a "gun free zone" is just the ticket for fighting violent crime?
Somebody needs to "opt out" that weasel Bredesen next time he runs for anything.
We're Not the Only Ones Outraged Enough
When a stray bullet from a gang member's gun struck 3-week-old Luis Angel Garcia in the heart and killed him in 2007, police, politicians and ordinary Angelenos expressed outrage over the infant's death.Actually, if you look at who is carrying guns in LA, it really pretty much is limited to "Only Ones" on both sides of "the law": Police and gangbangers.
But they weren't the only ones. [More]
The only ones who aren't carrying are those inclined to obedience.
And isn't that outrageous?
GAO Report Blames U.S. Gun Laws for Mexican Crime

See, the problem is, criminals laugh at all the laws against illegal purchases and international arms trafficking that we have now--those are for the suckers who obey them. But if we can just enact a few more prohibitions that will affect the "law-abiding," why everything will fall into place!
And we can confidently make these recommendations while admitting that the data we're using to extrapolate a conclusion is nowhere near complete. But once we get those "bureaucratic problems" ironed out, why, we "expect to fix" that any time now. In the mean time, let's pass more 'gun control" edicts! [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner looks at reports about a new report. I hope to have a report on the actual report later today, and will report on that here.
Got it?

KABA in Need of Funds
URGENT FUNDRAISING APPEAL - NEED TO RAISE $9,870.00 FOR OPERATING FUNDS - PLEASE HELP [More]I'll add my voice to Vanderboegh's.
I'm not on board with them on everything, including on the best approach at times, and I've had my share of disagreements with Alan Gottlieb over the years. I'm sure I will continue to.
But I think KABA offers a necessary service and is a valuable gathering place.
And yeah, I'm aware they've recently begun registration and realize many don't like it--by the same token, the amount of thread hijacking has greatly decreased, so hopefully some of the newslinks are actually being read instead of having off-topic squabbles started that have nothing to do with what the discussion is supposed to be about...
Regulars here know I never ask for money for myself. So take that for what it's worth.
I have an affection for the site, having worked on many projects hosted there during Angel's tenure. I'd hate to see it become another profile in apathy.
Jesse Jackson Adds to the Hate

And while you're lecturing us on anti-Semites and "hate speech," why not also lecture the inhabitants of...what did you call it...?
Hymietown...?
Maybe you can repeat for them how you're "sick and tired of hearing about the Holocaust"...? [More]
I was finally able to get a Gun Rights Examiner column posted today. This one is about one of the premier hypocrites of our age.
The nerve of this racist con man, lecturing the rest of us on hate.

UPDATE: Looks like the problems that prevented me from posting today have intermittently spread to preventing access to the column. All I can say is please keep trying and hopefully the work I put into this will make it worth your while.
That's it for Me Today
I've spent the last three hours dicking around with the Examiner.com publishing tool, losing two formatted drafts in the process. I've got the basic draft saved, but am not going to waste any more time prepping it for publication there until they get whatever the problem is solved.
Sorry. Very frustrating, because I've got plenty of stuff piling up that needs attention.
It also means I've used up all my allotted time for WoG today, too.
Sorry again. Ease up on the emails, OK?
I'll try again tomorrow.
In the mean time, if you feel kindly toward my efforts, feel free to click on this link and then explore around on some of the others.

"The Police Have the Power to Suspend Your Rights"
So says Shreveport, LA mayor Cedric Glover.
Listen to Part A of Tom Gresham's "Gun Talk" for Sun, 14 June 2009, featuring guest Robert Baillio. The page to access podcasts is here.
Then when you're done, you might consider telling Cedric what you think of his unique view of the social compact.

We're the Only Ones Doing What Was Proper Enough
``I did what was proper,'' Passaic Officer Joseph Rios III said at a news conference at the office of his attorney, Anthony Iacullo. ``I did what I was trained to do under the circumstances that existed at that time. I stand by my actions.''[More]Here's the latest on this.
It's like a peculiar form of "Only One" psychopathy, where the victim is to blame.
Here's hoping Officer Rios didn't bruise his arms or anything...

We're the Only Ones Girls Gone Wild Enough
A Portland police officer accused of making dozens of harassing phone calls made his first appearance in court Monday.I just Googled "phone sex chat" just to find a slogan I could adapt for this story, but prudently decided against clicking on any of the links. Suffice it to say if you're an "Only One," you can "reach out and touch someone" and all you have to do is "let your fingers do the walking."
Prosecutors claim Joseph E. Wild, 28, made the phone calls to more than one woman, but they won’t say how many women were involved. [More]

Meanwhile, Across the Pond in Sarah Brady Paradise...
The first “anti-stab” knife is to go on sale in Britain, designed to work as normal in the kitchen but to be ineffective as a weapon. [More]They're OJ-proof!
Good Lord. The idiots are serious.

More Guns, More Regurgitation
Faced with the potential loss of 300 deputies due to budget cuts, the Sacramento County sheriff may consider issuing more concealed weapons permits. [More]Naturally, the Brady shill is mooing in terror.
Becca Gonzales would evidently rather see citizens dead than armed.
I wonder what her qualifications are to make tactical defense judgments? I mean, why would KCRA seek out a quote from her, but not one from anyone on the gun advocacy side?
Aside from membership in the Stupid Club, does she have any special credentials or expertise that make her an authority on the effectiveness of armed self defense, or is her opinion as valid as, say, asking a cow what it thinks and then posting the content of its cud?

A Thousand Cuts
Have you heard about the latest from Customs and Border Patrol? They now want to classify nearly every pocket knife out there as a “switchblade.” If that weren’t enough, they’ve limited the period for comments to only 30 days and refused to consider extending that period by 120 days. The deadline is June 21. But wait! There’s more!!! [More]Parrothead Jeff comments on an issue we touched briefly on here.
I've been meaning to weigh in but have had other priorities. Fortunately, some of my fellow Gun Rights Examiners have been able to address this in their columns:
From Dave Workman: "Obama’s Customs agency declares war on pocket knives"
and Kurt Hofmann: "When gun bans are not enough--the war on . . . pocket knives?"
We're the Only Ones in a State of Rage Enough
O’Carroll said the veteran paramedic was trying to protect his patient and that the trooper had no reason to stop the ambulance, let alone try and arrest White. The trooper’s arms were bruised when White resisted arrest, James said. [More]We talked about this here.
On the job injuries? I'm surprised the "Only One's" not claiming carpal tunnel syndrome from repetitive work-related throttlings.

And the delusional bully thinks it proves he was justified.
TXMarko sent me this last link, along with the following commentary:
The Ambulance yielded as soon as it could, another vehicle was in its way, yielding to the ambulance.
He was apparently running high-speed Code 3 to pick up his wife at the restaurant. A “Mystery Woman” enters the vehicle at the restaurant (purported to be his wife), and off he goes again to start trouble.
Why is he running Code 3 after picking up his wife, and involving her in the dangerous “chase”?
The ambulance immediately yields and stops.
The cop disrespects the authority of the paramedic immediately, even after the P-medic informs him that he is the senior official onboard the ambulance.
Even after being told that they have a patient onboard, and that this can be sorted out at the Hospital, the little tyrant still presses and escalates the issue.
The press release on Fox above states that the Troopers decided not to press charges against the P-medic because it would leave that County without a Paramedic. Last time I checked the law was supposedly the law, regardless of circumstances?
The tyrants’ attitude pisses me off to no freakin’ end. His attorney trots out that he is a US Navy Vet that just got back from a tour in Iraq.
I hope you can find the opportunity to work this in, David. The video says it all.
This is an out-of-control child throwing a hissy fit because he didn’t get his butt kissed just the way he likes it (or he was late picking up the wife for dinner, what an excuse to risk public lives).
What Could 'Hate Crime' Bill Mean for Gun Owners?

One thing we should agree on: the right of the people to keep and bear arms is inclusive. It belongs to us all. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at the prospects of adding concealed carry reciprocity to a federal "hate crimes" bill. We need to consider real costs, not just perceived benefits.
