A Not Quite Conversion
These days, I think differently about the Second Amendment. I now know that the conventional wisdom about firearms is often wrong-headed. You would think that gun control would automatically reduce violent crime, but that wouldn't be true. [More]That's a good realization, Gregory Alan Thornbury, Dean of the School of Christian Studies at Union University.
So you guys are gonna drop this prohibition, then, right?
POSSESSING FIREARMS, OR WEAPONS. This is the possession, whether open or concealed, of any weapon (including, but not limited to paintball guns, slingshots and airsoft guns) that could be used to intimidate, scare, or harm others or possession of materials used to manufacture bombs, firearms, or weapons.I said "Right?"
ADL Engages in Stereotyping, Bigotry Against Gun Owners
We're not supposed to have prior restraint on rights in this country, Mr. Foxman. That's what makes us different from all those places refugees like you have fled from. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at a small-minded bigot masquerading as a civil rights leader.

We ought also to consider that it was so unexpected, and must have been so humiliating a thing, for a whole British army to surrender their arms, and deliver themselves up prisoners to those of whom they had been accustomed to speak with such contempt and disdain -that it is not to be wondered at, if the common soldiers did some things out of spite and ill humour, not to be justified. I Wish They'd Settle This
'Negro' Race Choice On Census Form Sparks Outrage [More]I'm afraid to send contributions here or here because I don't want to offend anyone...
Perhaps the most helpful thing I could do would be to make a donation to the people responsible for this...
We're the Only Ones God-Like Enough
A TSA agent was arrested on January 3rd in Terminal One at LAX, a source told NBCLA. He had just gotten off duty and was behaving erratically, saying, "I am god, I’m in charge." The agent was arrested. [More]Well, it's not like they don't, as a whole, insist on being be treated like they are.
Not just "Only Ones"--TSA "Only Ones"...
We all saw what happened to Michael Yon, right?
We know the only thing that saved everyone from the crotch bomber was the passengers? That TSA totally, as Obama put it, "blew it"? Just like with the airport worker's bag that cause such panic? Or the honey?
Hey, at least the video cameras were on when one of the "gods" let a man walk under the rope barrier and into the terminal without passing through security. Or were they?
Then there's the old vaudeville joke "Does your dog smell?"
Meanwhile, our overlords are telling us it's because a nomination is being held up. I mean, why shouldn't someone who abuses confidential databases for his own personal use--and then lies to Congress about it-- be in charge of the nation's air security?
We know what the solution is, don't we?
Disarm you and me, of course, silly.
So our gods can get back to the serious business of partying with drugs and securing the one thing they treat with attention--their place in the collective...
And oh, looky here: We're going to be shocked, shocked to find that gambling is going on...with our lives.

Self-Defense "Archaic" for Bay Area Enuretics
"I think it's kind of archaic," Livermore resident Grant Balfour told ABC7. He and a friend sat on a nearby bench watching while the officers frisked Stanley. "I don't see any Indians or cowboys running up and down the street. I think it's time to grow up." [More]Nice Sarah Brady Paradise accent there, Grant old chap. I don't know what ever happened to "when in Rome," but I love how people come here and demand we adapt to their native tyranny. Yeah, expecting the government to be your protector is a lot more grown up, you simple child.
And then we have this expert opinion:
"I think that you're asking for trouble if you walk around with an exposed weapon on your hip," Livermore resident Yvonne Douglas said. "Because I think it would be easy for someone to take that away from you."Why don't you show us how easy that is, you ignorant cud-chewer? Maybe you and Grant could gang up...
We're the Only Ones Sharpshooting Enough
Metro Parks, Serving Summit County has received state approval to shoot 300 white-tailed deer this winter.
Park sharpshooters are expected to start soon, said Scott Peters of the Ohio Division of Wildlife. [More]
No doubt because the rest of us aren't crack Ohio government worker "Only Ones"...
A Request to Vacate
Wayne Fincher is trying to get his case dismissed. MOWCA Blog has the court documents. [More]
NWA Online has the story here, but you need to be a subscriber to read it for free. If anyone else is reporting on this, I can't find it.
What, you didn't think it was in the interests of our government watchdog "Authorized Journalists" to keep us informed on the persecution of unalienable rights activists, did you?
Ironic. When the feds want to "vacate" our rights, they don't "request" a damn thing.

And They Say There Are No Stupid Questions
Aside from law enforcement officers, does anyone really have a valid reason to carry a gun onto a school campus? [More]Yes, you bleating idiot, we do.
You missed the lesson of "Simple Jack," didn't you?
Don't go "full retard."
Or do. It could work to our advantage.
MSNBC's Ed Schultz: Ban NBA Players from Owning Guns
OK, how about if the networks ban all of their talking heads from owning guns? Hey, with great power comes great responsibility, right? See, I can rip off Spiderman dialog, too.Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at power combined with irresponsibility--or more accurately, subversive domestic enemy action.
Why don't you press MSNBC to set the example, Ed? As a condition of employment there, no one who has any "visibility" with the public may own a gun. [More]

We're the Only Ones Ensuring Incompetence Enough
The Chicago Police Department is seriously considering scrapping the police entrance exam, sources tell Fran Spielman. So they won't actually have to understand that Constitution they're required to swear an oath to support? And these boobs are going to tell us what the law is?
Dropping the exam would bolster minority hiring and avert legal battles, according to one source, while others confirm that the exam could be scrapped to open the process to as many people as possible. [More]
So much for the argument that they're the professionals. Wonder how the Brady's are going to lie their way around this?
Why not just put up a "Thugs for Hire--Inquire Within" sign? Oh, right--because they couldn't read it.
Not just "Only Ones"--Chicago "Only Ones".
Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.
Has everybody had just about enough of this yet?
We're the Only Ones "What Goes into 13 Twice?" Enough
Ward is charged with 10 counts of aggravated sexual battery for a victim under 13, two counts of attempted aggravated sexual battery for a victim under 13, two counts of sexual battery by an authority figure and two counts of sexual battery. [More]Actually, more than twice, huh? I just don't like to let a good Roman Polanski joke go to waste.
Still, as with all related "Only Ones" tales, I note my Eternal Question remains unanswered...

We're the Only Ones Planning a Visit Enough
A former Philadelphia police officer pleaded guilty to planning the violent home invasion robbery of a drug dealer. Why is it we wouldn't automatically act in defense against a break-in--regardless of who was smashing in our door? Or perhaps especially if it was an "Only One"...?
Alhinde Weems, 34, faces a minimum of 15 years in prison after pleading guilty Tuesday to distributing crack cocaine and plotting to use his badge and gun as part of the robbery. [More]

Book 'em, Danno
Kent McManigal has written a children's book and a liberty primer.
He asks that we all go out and buy multiple copies so he can live in the lifestyle he'd like to get accustomed to.
Believe it or not, only a few of us in the liberty movement can afford caviar on our yachts to feed all those supermodels. Every once in a while a fresh change of pine needles under the buffalo skin really helps improve the ol' morale--not to mention the homey ambiance of our yurts. And an occasional meal is pretty nice, too.
So if you're in the market to discuss liberty with kids or with yourself, why not do something voluntary and mutually profitable?

Nothing Succeeds Like Success
By definition, terrorism succeeds by making us feel powerless. [More]Now substitute the word "government" for "terrorism."
And with each successive erosion of Liberty in the name of security, they succeed even more.
What was it the Founders considered "necessary to the security of a free State" again?
Never mind--I'm sure it's outdated...
Besides, I've already defined the obvious solution to air travel security.
Now take off your shoes and step into the Wienertron.
Say "chee-eese..."
