Message to Neal Boortz
Go to hell, you self-serving fraud.
The only one I see playing into the hands of the left is the one siding with the satisfied Rapex customers.
There.
Somebody's gotta say it.

GRE Round Up for Apr. 21
There's some good stuff being turned out by the Gun Rights Examiners. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.
A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."
These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.
Here are their latest offerings:
Steve D. Jones/Fort Smith:
Home invasion; cop or not?
Local emergency gun control
Liston Matthews/Knoxville:
Parkwest Hospital murder - suicide
John Longenecker/Los Angeles:
Safer Streets 2010: Smear answered by Senator Randy Brogdon.
Safer Streets 2010: Informed streets have to come first.
Dave Workman/Seattle:
Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:

Here's Another Shot...
...of this. [Read]
I really can't wait to see the videos--meeting and speaking to so many people meant I actually didn't hear most of the folks who spoke while I was there--and, of course, those who spoke after I left. So in a funny way, being in the thick of things had about the same effect for some of the presentations as being absent.

A Perfect Crime?
Interesting and moving, but if Liberty dies, I suspect the cause will be from neglect, that is abdication, laziness, apathy and cowardice. [Read]

We're the Only Ones Deploying Our Sex Crimes "Unit" Enough
DNA evidence in an alleged sexual assault at a police squad building matches that of a sergeant who led a sex crimes unit in suburban Philadelphia, a district attorney said Tuesday. [More]Quis custodiet ipsos "Only Ones"?
I understand though. Whenever I am mourning a loss, I always get drunk and try to rape people too. Doesn't everyone? Nothing I like better than leaving some weaker victim who trusted me traumatized and curled up in the closet, which is probably why I'm not as worthy as professionals like Sarge here.
Or something...

Idiot or Liar?
And yes, I own guns, and I know how to shoot them. Campus Carry is a BAD IDEA. [More]Anybody see a third choice for this comment poster?

Fingering a Terrorist Threat
Student suspended after finger gun incidentOh fer cryin' out loud. I guess handling things like an adult is too much to expect.
..."That was considered a terroristic threat because the teacher feared for her life"... [More]
Funny. Often times, the "Authorized Journalists" don't disclose the names of minors accused of things. In this case, because a unionized government worker is involved, because sacred AUTHORITAH has been challenged, well, that's a different set of rules. It's their name that gets protected.
Besides, the girl says she was practicing to be a Furious Mike "Only One." Hell, looks to me like she's a natural.
Still, I understand how the sight of someone doing this would make some feel threatened. For instance, the guy pictured here appears to be making a double-threat. But because of that different set of rules, we're expected to just take it.

How Long...
...would you survive? [Read and take poll]I view this assessment as useful but incomplete, as it doesn't take into account will and willingness. In some cases, we won't know until we're put to the test just what we're capable of doing and just how much of our mental/emotional/moral conditioning we're capable of overcoming.
Would you rescue and take in children in need? Even if you'd only made provisions for your family?
Etc. I'm sure we could think up a thousand more scenarios that would require an on-the-spot moral/intellectual/survival decision and still end up astonished by the one that confronts us.
That's not to put down preparation in terms of hardware, training, supplies--just my observation that we must not neglect the "soft" aspect of things, which just may prove the hardest to prepare for.
Funniest Damn Thing I've Read in a While
The PERFECT ending to the story would be that Mike had plastered a "We Are Everywhere" on the bastard's back :o) [More]Can you imagine...?
I'm still laughing here.
NRA Sidelined on Firearms Freedom Acts
Understand I can't claim to know, but that's my read on their thinking. And I don't claim to like it, but I do acknowledge it is a consideration that would affect their decision. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner looks at why the 800 Lb. gorilla prefers the bench to the line.

Helmke Admits 'Polite' Attendees at VA Armed Rally
Perhaps if the arm of friendship is extended we can all get along and Paul will learn to trust his fellow citizens, and stop demanding enforced obedience to his will? [More]I thought this warranted a second Gun Rights Examiner column today...:)
Will you help me spread this link far and wide?
Saldana Said
Saldana said it would be better if only law enforcement officers were permitted to publicly display firearms. [More]Because Saldana said, you see.
Good for the sheriff candidates who, without coming right out and saying so, tell us she's full of...baloney.
Thing is, Mr. Sniff, some of us protected our lives doing that which you term "a more direct threat." I'll be damned if I'll apologize to you or to anybody else for it.

And Now, An Editorial Reply...
April 19 is almost over, without violence, this year anyway. No thanks to right-wing hate-mongers. [More]Cover your children's eyes before proceeding to the appropriate response.

Peaceful Pro-Gun Rallies: A Firsthand Account
I'm back from a rather exhausting past couple of days. I'll have time over the next few days to catch up on what the media is saying about the Second Amendment March and the Restore the Constitution rally, but for now I just wanted to share some of what I experienced. This Day in History: April 20
On or about April 20, 1778, Capt. William Patrick of Ichabod Alden’s Massachusetts regiment were ordered to the Schoharie Valley by Gen. John Stark, commander of the Northern Department. Stark gave Patrick this instruction:
"Sir, You will keep continual scouting parties in the adjacent country to where you are posted, to discover the motions and movements of our internal enemies. If any of them should be found under arms, aiding, assisting, or forthwith detect them (if in your power) and with their crimes send them to me or the commanding officer at this place. You will do the utmost in your power to find out if any British Officers should come to that country, as it is highly probable they will do, because they have there so many friends; and let no pains be spared in detecting them, making report of your proceedings, from time to time, to me or the commanding officer at this place." Field Report
In Arlington getting ready to take the shuttle to the mall for the 2A March, then will head on over to ther Restore the Constitution rally. Took part yesterday in a press conference on 2AM, met many of the principals in person for the first time, reconnected with Stewart Rhodes and then in the evening conferenced with the Merry Band and a reporter.
Oh, and an AP guy interviewed me last week about FFA and it was supposed to come out yesterday--gotta check and find that, no time now.
Will be back late tonight--please hold off on emails per my earlier post and please be forgiving if I do not answer anything sent during my absence.
I have a Gun Rights Examiner column I posted today on armed defense stories. Click the little dealy-bob over in the left margin and that will take you to my main page where you can access it. Sorry--outta time--gotta go.
