Firearms possession issue splits Finland [More]I have the perfect solution and it couldn't be easier: Those of you who don't want guns, don't have guns. And leave those who do the hell alone.

An Amicable Split
The Reason is Obvious
The reason is obvious: Obama and his aides don't want to spark a backlash from the NRA and voters who cling to their guns—especially as Democrats ride toward a difficult mid-term election. [More]True enough.
But if he gets a second term, Katy bar the door.
The antis and their "progressive" (that's Orwellian for "Marxist traitor") media allies are counting on everyone believing Obama doesn't want to take away guns. Of course he does.
Don't for a second believe otherwise, or that the Brady "F" was not calculated.
A Condition of Probation
Javier’s father, Emilio A., told the police there were two guns in the home. [More]Well there's your problem right there...
It Didn't Mean I was Opposed to Gun Control. Quite the Contrary.
[M]y students and I narrowly avoided being shot during a field trip when a gang member chased after us with a gun... [More]And you prefer being an adult who is powerless to protect juveniles entrusted to your care?
Smile! You're on Camera Oscuro!
Does anyone really believe this entire "War on Drugs"/open border is not one big government scam, and that they're not depending on it for money, power, control...? And the Republic be damned? [Watch]

Great Expectations

Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen said Wednesday he expects lawmakers to once again override his veto of bill to allow handgun carry permit holders to bring weapons into bars and restaurants that serve alcohol. [More]The true outrage is how we've come to expect this kind of contempt for our rights from so many A-rated endorsees.
We're the Only Ones Still Ticking Enough
Imagine being ordered by airport security workers to put your very expensive watch on a scanning belt, over your objections. Then imagine going to retrieve it and it’s gone. [More]Seeing as how their belief that they own us has been tolerated, their belief that they also own our property isn't all that hard to imagine.

Jamaica's Problems Due to Government More than Anything Else
Yeah, these are the guys who should enjoy a monopoly of violence. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column rounds up the usual suspect.
Also see Trigger Sports RECORDED!, circle back to CNN doing a 360 on ATF, read a Romanian newspaper, and meet a candidate from W VA who thinks you ought to be armed.

This Day in History: May 27
The Jersey Privateer do us a great deal of mischief by intercepting our supplies. It has been mention'd to one that your small vessel, commanded by so brave an officer, might render great service by following them where greater ships dare not venture their bottoms... [More]

AC360 features ATF expose tonight
On Monday I announced that CNN's Anderson Cooper was going to broadcast an expose on the bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). That will happen tonight at 10:00 PM EST. [More]This warranted a second Gun Rights Examiner column.
I know what I'll be watching tonight.

GRE Round Up for May 26
There's some good stuff being turned out by the Gun Rights Examiners. I hope you're availing yourself of it, and importantly, sharing these links via emails, on blogs and forums, with your local newspaper editor, etc.
A common complaint is media bias and absence of representation for "our side."
These people work hard to change that and ask for nothing from those of us their labors serve other than to help spread the word. I hope no one thinks that's too much to ask.
Here are their latest offerings:
Howard Nemerov/Austin:
80-year-old Chicago man kills intruder, may face charges
Paul Valone/Charlotte:
Marriott lies to gun owners: 'No firearms' signs remain
John Longenecker/Los Angeles:
Safer Streets 2010: America Speaking Out not listening.
Dave Workman/Seattle:
As SCOTUS ruling on Chicago gun ban looms, one case defines gun control bankruptcy
Kurt Hofmann/St. Louis:

There Must Be Some Mistake...
I don't see a retraction and correction.
Even though the truth is out there.
And has been provided to her...
You don't think that might be intentional, do you?
Gosh, if we can't trust rich "progressive feminist" lawyers, who can we trust?

We're the Only Ones Scuffling Enough
The IAB is investigating what led up to a pushing and shoving match involving rival law enforcement officers inside the Radisson Hotel. [More]So they were all arrested for assault on police officers and resisting arrest, right?
Just like a non-"Only One" would be? Assuming he survived the experience...?

Too Much to Ask?
[W]ould it be too much to ask the NRA to choose only locations for conventions where we can actually exercise our freedoms while we celebrate them? [More]Some of these "principles freaks" certainly make some outrageous demands, don't they?
