After repeatedly ordering him to stop taking pictures to no avail, they tackled and arrested him for several misdemeanors, one of which claimed he had been obstructing traffic. [More]Simon Owens profiles Carlos Miller of Photography is Not a Crime.
When We Die as Martyrs
It seems like an evolutionary dead end to me, but I guess it would be intolerant and hostile to that cultural diversity we're told is our strength for me to condemn this. [Watch]

Is NRA Changing Stance On Campaign Finance Exemption Deal?
Perhaps this will amount to nothing, and I expect criticism for posting an uncorroborated statement, but with the intense interest that has gripped the gun community over this story, I owe it to Gun Rights Examiner readers to put the raw intel out there. And who knows? If enough gun owners opposing this call, perhaps it will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column presumes that regular readers would want to know about this.

We're the Only Ones Contradictory Enough
A Boston police officer under investigation for allegedly giving contradictory testimony in a 2008 federal case is now being accused of misleading a Suffolk Superior Court during a jury trial, which ended in the conviction and a four- to six-year prison sentence for a Dorchester man. [More]There are jurors who automatically assign more credibility to "authority" figures. That there are others who automatically disbelieve cops is hardly the issue.
It sure complicates the truth...

Count Me in the Minority
Americans Should be Allowed to Have Guns, Say Large Majorities [More]Sorry, but I don't recognize anyone with authority to "allow" that. And unalienable rights aren't subject to majority rule.
As I said here, because I believe it, "At some point we must acknowledge that, democracy notwithstanding, two cannot lawfully withhold rights from one, NOR MAY THEIR ELECTED REPRESENTATIVES."
This may seem like nitpicking over grammar, but establishing the proper mindset is crucial.
A Clean Sweep?
Among the goods seized were a .38-caliber revolver, Outlaws meeting notes, records identifying officers and associates of the gang and a veritable gift shop of vests, patches, pins and T-shirts. [More]What?

Anti-Hunting Cosmetics Firm Uses Human Guinea Pigs
Even if voluntary consent is given, can we establish with certainty it's informed consent, as opposed to, say, exploitable zealotry? It's unacceptable to expose real guinea pigs to potential risks, but human guinea pigs are OK? Where are the anti-capitalists protesting "corporate greed" when you really need them? [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner column looks at self-loathing humans.
