Using Gross Logic

We can begin by making our voices heard to defeat the George Zimmerman Armed Vigilante Act. [More]

If we're going to do guilt by association (remembering no legal guilt for Zimmerman has been established at this time), then Minister King Samir "Kill Some Crackers and Their Babies" Shabazz is the Brady Campaign.

After all, just like Dan Gross & Co., the King's court rushes to judgment without all the facts under the promise that "No Guns" will "Stop the Killing!"

As an aside, if Gross is the best the Bradys can do, that's just wonderful.  So far their vaunted new advertising professional is making Paul Helmke look like the paragon of effectiveness.

This Day in History: March 27

Gen Washington writes that a failure of bread has already commenced in the army, and that for any thing he sees, it must unavoidably increase. Meat they have only for a short season and as the whole dependance is on provisions now to be procured, without a shilling for the purpose, and without credit for a shilling, I look forward with the most pungent apprehensions. Pawn Star

A member of the New Black Panther Party who went on national television to offer a reward for the capture of George Zimmerman was arrested in Gwinnett County. [More]
Maybe he was just trying to make good on that "No Guns" sign?

Should People Rush To Judgment On Mississippi State Shooting Death?

It’s good that we don’t see opportunists and haters showing up in Mississippi, jumping to conclusions before all the facts have been established, proclaiming guilt without weighing the evidence, but stirring up racial animosity and threatening violence anyway due solely to the skin color of the men in these reports. [More]
I think we can all agree that would be wrong.

The Prime Directive

He could have said: We understand that a U.S. senator’s first duty is to represent the people of his state and that their interests occasionally might conflict with those of a special interest group such as ours. We would expect Richard Mourdock to vote in the interests of his constituents in those circumstances. [More]
Except that wouldn't be true.

His first duty is keeping his oath by legislating in accordance with the Constitution. And Lugar has betrayed his.

About Damn Time

Remington Arms Company threatens to pull plant out of New York in response to Bloomy-backed gun bill [More]
Good. Don't just say it, do it. And take the valuable workers with you.

I wish more gun companies would tell hostile states to go get their revenue from someone else.

Vanderboegh Medical Update

We just got finished talking. He had a real rough night, lots of pain because by the time they got home from the hospital the pharmacy was closed.  He may post today as the medication kicks in, or he may not if it kicks in too much or not enough. Home health care folks won't arrive until this evening.

They're looking to buy a piece of furniture he can actually relax in, like a recliner or some such, which they don't have--and can't afford.

As always, go easy on the emails and comments you'll be compelling him to field. Contributions can be made at Sipsey Street via the PayPal button, or you can send cards with well-wishes and/or donation to him at P.O. Box 926, Pinson, AL 35126.

Open letter to AG Holder: Investigate New Black Panthers for criminal conspiracy

Their own words give you probable cause to open a thorough investigation to obtain all relevant documents, including electronic, telephone records, financial records, etc., and based on the evidence, to arrest and vigorously prosecute any member--or financial supporter--determined to be engaged in this conspiracy. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column challenges Eric Holder.  Will he turn a blind eye, and if he does, why shouldn't we believe these domestic enemies aren't serving his agenda?

DOJ charges release of ‘Gunwalker’ reports impedes investigations

And Weich is still out there deflecting, redirecting and stonewalling, trying to shutter the windows, pull down the blinds and make the villains in this murderous government intrigue the ones with the light.  [More]
This evening's special Gun Rights Examiner report looks at accusations from a proven liar. As far as I can tell, the letter appears in its entirety exclusively here.

Why are ‘racial justice’ advocates silent on other 17-year-old?

Those stirring up the mob are taking full advantage of anger, and it’s hard not to think of the death of the Florida teen as an opportunity for their self-promotion, as opposed to a sincere concern for color-blind justice. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner column condemns evil opportunists who are egging on violent racial conflict.

Rush to judgment on George Zimmerman reminiscent of mob behavior

“If I had a son, he’d look like Trayvon,” President Barack Obama felt compelled to toss into the spreading flames of divisiveness.

Curiously, as Obama’s political base in "stand your ground"-free Chicago prepares for a Trayvon Martin march today, the names of last weekend’s 10 dead/49 wounded seem destined for obscurity. Evidently these lacked an important exploitable factor. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes that ginning up the mob has certain advantages those who crave control can rely on.

No Slur

Bruce W. Krafft shares a conversation. [More]

I've been occupied with other priorities and haven't had time to weigh in on this case, but do note the antis are dancing in the blood with all their might in order to kill "stand your ground" and to keep it from spreading.

Here's the thing--Workman asks a good question: "Was ‘SYG’ law even relevant?"

I've been marginally watching this from the sidelines and here's a sneaking suspicion I can't shake: I’ve read officials aren’t prosecuting him saying they can't because of stand your ground laws that need to be changed. I’m wondering if that’s a cynical strategy on the part of prosecutors who are hostile to anything making their burden of proof more difficult to overcome—it seems they very well could charge and prosecute the guy—who followed and confronted the teenager after being specifically told not to by the 911 dispatcher. I’m suspecting the decision to not prosecute is a calculated legal and political exploitation of the situation.
