Shooting Destination Night

Precision long-range shooting tonight on American Trigger Sports Network...[Details]

No It Does Not Either

It goes against the Constitution, which gives me the right to keep and bear arms and that right shall not be infringed." [More]
I hate when people say that and others spread it.  A big and unnecessary part of the problem is that "The 2nd Amendment is my concealed carry permit" line popularized by Ted Nugent.

I know what they're trying to say, but that ain't the way to say it.

The Eye of the Storm

Perhaps scariest of all is how many were totally unprepared, totally clueless as to how to provide even the most basic of necessities for themselves, and how the “solution” articulated by their leadership is to be dependent on others. [More]
My latest "Rights Watch" column for GUNS Magazine is now online.

Yesterday was my deadline, but I the way things are going, I hope I don't need to rewrite this completely before it goes to the printer.

The Great Outdoors

Another Fudd for Obama says anybody worried about Barry and gun control is a paranoid. [More]

There's something about "sportswriters." That's how Keith Olbermann got his start. And we've revisited Mike Lupica's subversion ad nauseum... And don't get me started on David Petzal...

Vigilante Justice

How dare she take the law into her own hands?  [More]

Doesn't she know if she had let them shoot her, the Bradys could have used this to decry another casualty of "gun violence," and their professional male spokesvictim wouldn't have had to deal with yet another woman showing him how an adult is supposed to behave?

Jedi Mind Tricks

You know, convincing us he's this big supporter of the Emperor all the while profiteering off the Rebellion...

Seriously, how hypocritical and just plain cheesy is a socialist billionaire dodging  taxes?

5 Questions...

...with Ted Nugent [More]
Here's a sixth (actually, I asked mine first): What possible excuse can you have for not doing this?

Happy Halloween!

Yeah, I know it's a day late, but I just got sent the link to this video. [Watch]

The Way Things Oughtta Be

Excellent! [Read]

If I lived there, this guy would be my banker.

"A Staunch Gun Advocate"

I actually condone this action...Gun owners - be reasonable. [More]

Tell you what, why don't you do what you want and stay the hell out of my private affairs?

You call for more "gun laws," make a point of telling everyone how law-abiding you are, and then turn around and tell us "Even if a business is posted, I carry anyway."

If the antis were really for "reasonable" background checks they'd be pushing for BIDS, which would allow for those without creating a purchase record. But what they're really interested in is that purchase record.

In the meantime, we don't need useful kapos ceding  ground in the guise of "staunch gun advocates."

Unpreppers

"I don't have any lights and need this gasoline for my generator," Abdul Rahim Anwar told Reuters as he waited at a Getty service station in Gowanus, Brooklyn. [More]
What? Abdul, old sport, you didn't know a Big-Ass Hurricane was coming your way?

And now it's "to each according to his need"?

Won't things get interesting when something even bigger, more widespread and longer-lasting comes along? They still might.

Yet "preppers" are figures to be ridiculed and even demonized.

Hey, maybe we can charge them with hoarding and "take back" what should rightfully be mi...uh...ours.

Students Teaching...

Well, that's your problem right there. They're supposed to be learning. [More]

I guess if someone really wants to be offended, they'll find a way. If this is all they have to worry about, life must be pretty good.

S.T.A.R. reminds me of that group created by Al Capp...

Still Plagiarizing After All These Years

"As they say in my business, I'm going to give you the whole load today," said Biden. [More]
I guess a leopard never changes its spots.

But really, word-for-word?

Giving the Devil His Due

“It's about time we start taking this sh—back," the youth, who identified himself as Jesse James, told the Daily News. [More]
Right, because you've no doubt spent a lifetime putting so much in and giving so much, so it's your entitlement.

This Day in History: November 1

That such of the sixteen additional regiments as have not been annexed to the line of some particular state and all the seperate light corps of the army, both of horse and foot, [(Colonel Hazen's regiment, Colonel Armands and Major Lee's corps excepted)] and also the German battalion, be reduced on the 1st day of January next: that the non-commissioned officers and privates in those several corps, be incorporated with the troops of their respective states, and that such of them as do not belong to any particular state, be annexed to such corps as the commander in chief shall direct. Gun ‘Buybacks’ Endanger Citizens, Help Crooks and Crooked Officials

“The idea is to cut down on the amount of potential guns that could be stolen during house breaks,” the mayor is quoted as saying. If someone were breaking into their house, would the people he’s appealing to not wish to have the means to protect themselves and their loved ones?  Would Hizzoner? [More]
I just posted this short piece over at AmmoLand.

Rhymes with "Ditch"

Guess who? [More]

Hit it, Gomer.

Texas church bludgeoning shows no place is safe from violence

Whether or not the church in Forest Hill was posted is unclear at this time. What should be crystal clear is the law, particularly if criminal penalties can be applied to those unwittingly violating it, or if it has the consequence of discouraging people from protecting themselves. [More]
This morning's Gun Rights Examiner report notes that purposeful obscuring of rights creates a clear and present danger that may not be resolved solely with prayer.

Burden of Proof

And if you have evidence that your use of force was justified, it’s the state’s burden to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn’t. [More
So what we need is a system of guilty until proven innocent? Do you think Emily Bazelon ever listens to herself? And she's a Slate senior editor?
