Public Unaware

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware [More]
I guess they were all busy trusting Tom Hanks.

I see WaPo is quick to find that touch of grey in the silver lining. It's only natural that "legitimate media" responsible for propagating such li...uh...misconceptions wouldn't want to dull that fear edge they keep trying to sharpen.

If you vote for disarmament edicts, they get what they want, and then when you deservedly lose your disgusted core constituents, well, what the hell did you think the plan was?

They're pushing you through the chutes like stockyard cattle. In the end, you'll probably be just as stunned.

This Day in History: May 8

On May 8, a fortunate howitzer blast hit the magazine in Fort Crescent. Black smoke billowed into the sky as the gunpowder supply exploded, killing 57 British troops and devastating the fortifications. Ezpeleta, commanding the light infantry, was then able to lead the charge to take Fort Crescent, and moved howitzers and cannons in place to open fire on the next two fortifications. The British fired back from Fort George, but were overwhelmed by the Spanish firepower. [More]

Opposition to Ohio gun shop based on ignorance, prejudice

That none of the complainers need prove they know the first thing about guns, gun shops, gun shop clientele and the statistical significance of nearby hoagie shops, bars, day care centers, school drop-offs and houses to create any kind of public safety concern, other than what their own prejudices conjure up, has not been questioned. Their unprovoked anger is entirely self-created, and to imply their peaceable neighbors will lawfully patronize a gun store and then do something evil because a tavern or a day care are nearby is, frankly, insulting, and not worthy of a response except to return such disrespect in kind. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes if all it takes to keep a gun store from opening are three indignant hoplophobes and an airhead reporterette spooking a trough-feeding careerist, then maybe it's time to show Her Honor some real anger.

Yeah, we noticed.

How could we not?  You unleashed nine of those beasts.

A knowledgeable opponent--not the inexperienced loser located by a homeowner going outside for a smoke that all your king's BearCats and all your king's men missed in their Constitution-trampling frenzy--would be able to exploit such reliance on overkill, and would probably find an advantage in encouraging you to apportion even more of your resources toward the procurement, staffing and maintenance of such costly misapplications of technology.

Ain't it something-- this from a government that would deny semiautomatics to We the People using the platitude that weapons of war don't belong on our streets.
