We're the Only Ones Rectum? Damn Near Killed 'em Enough

Chicago Police Accused of Using Gun to Sodomize Innocent Man [More]
Sadistic. Perverted. Sick. Evil.

No whole person could do this. And while this is an allegation, we've seen such examples before.

What kind of hive insect would demand a monopoly of violence?

Anyone doubt there are those in the employ of government who would enthusiastically staff death camps?

Standing By

The Kitty Genovese Syndrome is strong in these bystanders, but for that brave woman at the end. [More]

Before condemning them, I wonder if I would get involved if I saw this unfold before me. I dislike the "sheepdog" analogy, and never made any pretense of wanting to be a security resource for others. My biggest fear would be legal repercussions, and doesn't that just say it all?

I did get involved once back in college, and instantly regretted it after finding my well-meaning friend and I were surrounded and the girl we presumed to be rescuing pretty much brought the whole thing on herself.  Very fortunately, I've been able to maintain presence of mind and posture to talk and/or bluff my way out of similar situations of being outnumbered a few times during the more reckless phase of my life.

Proposed bridge over gun divide built on shaky foundation

See, the problem with this editorial is it assumes both sides of the debate have fact-based positions of equal merit, and that citizen disarmament schemes are worthy of respect. That's bull, and it’s a denial of the truth. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner offering notes a divide that not only shouldn't be bridged, it can't be unless someone surrenders.

Oh, Those Kooky Teenagers

Call It the brawl at the mall [More]
How cute. It rhymes..
Investigators told CBS 4 News they do not anticipate any criminal charges being filed in the brawl.
Well, of course not. None of them were hit.

"Heavy artillery" kind of has that effect.

We're the Only Ones Fighting Enough

“My client — he’s a fighter... " [More]
I believe you.  As long as the bout is fixed.

Which made him the perfect guy to decide if YOU were fit to have a gun (screen shot taken anticipating they'll be changing the page):

Just Give Them What They Want

Mirza said Rodgers then demanded he raise his head to expose his neck. Rodgers jabbed the knife into him under his left ear and sliced across his neck, just shy of his right ear. He wrapped metal wire around his neck, stuck the knife into his cheek and fled with $240. [More]
Good thing Mirza didn't play vigilante, otherwise the Bloomberg bus might have another victim of gun violence name to read off.

Besides, it being Manhattan Beach and all, Russ Lesser would have chastised him for "incredible bad taste and stupidity."

Some People Never Quit

The Rockland County Times has confirmed that the Journal News daily newspaper has requested from Putnam, Rockland and Westchester Counties a complete list of gun owners who did not file “opt out” papers exempting themselves from pistol permit public records. [More]
I never really thought Gannett Corporate had ethics anyway -- I just wanted to prove it.

This will continue until major advertisers are made to understand their dollars enable all this.  But that requires someone leading and others supporting the effort.

I guess it depends on how important this is to area gun owners.

Some people never quit and others never start.

Cop rape case highlights life-endangering outrage of ‘Only Ones’ mentality

But at what point would physical resistance to officer abuse under color of authority become appropriate, from both a moral and legal standpoint? At what point would a citizen be able to engage in self-defense against an attacker with a badge, up to and including using lethal force to stop a threat? [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner commentary adds another dimension to that "national conversation on guns" the antis say they want to have.  Why not see if they're serious? Send them this link, then watch them shuffle, evade, change the subject, attack, ridicule and do everything but directly answer the following question: Under what circumstances would you find it morally justifiable to shoot a police officer?

Giving Them What They Want

Instead of what they deserve. [More]

It figures the reaction is to install a security system that won't be able to get a response out in the time it takes to watch this video. It's New Jersey.

Hey, at least the Bloomberg Bus wouldn't have to add another "victim of gun violence" to it's list.

Think about that: The CSGV/VPC/Brady hive insects would rather this woman endure this brutal beating than be armed --even if she'd ended up dead.  They really would.

Elon's Belgian Waffle

So, your outrage and indignation aside Elon, what did Ann Coulter say in the video that was demonstrably wrong? [More]

I've been saying for years that the millions of members in the NRA, arguably the most armed-to-the-teeth civilian population on the planet, are responsible for fewer homicides and have a lower violent "gun crime" rate than gun-free Japan, to the point where it is statistically negligible. That should prove for all to see it's not the guns, it's the individuals. Anyone care to prove me wrong with valid data?

I understand why the point Coulter raises makes everyone uncomfortable - "R" is the new Scarlet Letter, even though we see it is pervasive in the very quarters that condemn it. Those of us who see how the concept of racism has been so cheapened and devalued by those who exploit it  are no longer afraid.  In truth, the biggest puzzler for me is why victims of real racism aren't out there chastising the opportunistic hustlers.

The problem with boiling things down to race is it obscures root causes. It's cultural. People raised in an environment based on honoring principles of liberty and responsibility are going to reflect social values and behaviors different from those raised in a government dependency environment.

That this so often manifests itself along racial lines tells us much that society as a whole is afraid to address, which suits those moving the chess pieces and pulling the strings just fine.
