An Independence Day Message

Say what you will about the guy, he has the courage of his convictions.

We've Exceeded Our Goal!

Thanks to you, it works!

Perfectly Cast for the Role

[I]f you wanted to go to central casting and say, 'Give me one alderman that represents the culture and the history and the kind of spirit of Chicago,' Dick Mell would pop up and he would win the casting call without a doubt. [More]
And doesn't that just say it all?

As does the "Authorized Journalist" who  penned this retrospective attributing such corrupt and hypocritical abuse of power to his being "a colorful scamp."

Forget it Jake, it's Chi-Town.

Email Slowdown

I have over 200 emails currently unread and more are going to pile up before I can get to them--sorry, but I have family in for my annual Independence Day barbecue and many preparation duties to attend to.

I did ask for a slowdown a few days back on emails and it's gotten to the point where I probably won't even have time to read all of them, let alone respond to them.  I apologize and feel bad about it, but there is only one of me.

Expect only a few priority posts on this blog and I may or may not do a GRE column tomorrow.

If you have time to be on the internet and are just itching for something to do, why not add a name to Bloomberg's declaration, and get everyone you know to join in the fun?

Brilliant!

I love it!

Mississippi Supreme Court denies petition to undo open carry block

A three-judge panel of the Mississippi Supreme Court ruled yesterday against the state attorney general’s petition to undo an injunction blocking a firearms open carry law from going into effect. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner report can't help but notice merits don't matter and form trumps function.  If you think about it, that's a very dangerous and arrogant attitude to take, especially when justice is being over procedural matters denied and the truth is so obvious.

Anti-Colins

Not everyone chooses poorly. [More]

This should be a daily stop. [More]

Come All Without, Come All Within

You'll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn. [More]

But even that's not good enough for Furious Mike and the Shortshanks III of the Daley Dynasty, who, conveniently, is part of the Obama faction of the Chicago Machine.

No shortage of tyrant wannabes, is there...?

The Long, Hot Summer

IF the riots some are promising and promoting come to pass, the thing to watch out for will be if any are shot by responding "Authoritah." [More]

IF that happens, that could be the catalyst and excuse for widespread "emergency measures."

Parental Controls

No doubt with the goal of having government be the ultimate parent to us all...[More]

We're the Only Ones Redistributing Enough

This is like a grand convergence of entirely foreseeable consequences. [More]

Legislators go first. I like it. [More]

We're the Only Ones of the First Water Enough

A University of Virginia student had just bought some bottled water, cookie dough and ice cream for a sorority fundraiser when a group of people in plainclothes approached her car. One person jumped on her hood, another pulled a gun on her... [More]
Seems like a perfectly reasonable reaction if they suspect a college student of buying beer, don't you think?

No?

A lot of hive insects in comments seem to think so.  They've been indoctrinated well.

Sheriff says CBI advises breaking law, stolen gun owners to be victimized twice

In today’s post, Smith gave an example of how a gun owner would become part of “Colorado’s new criminal class,” being victimized once by a burglar and a second time by the state, citing the fictitious example of "Diane," who had a hypothetical "Glock Model 17" stolen. [More]
This afternoon's Gun Rights Examiner report looks at an official Catch 22 where the victims are punished again by the state and even its top enforcers can offer no other option but for local cops to break the law.

Mein Kampf

Many would be happy to supply them with worse accommodations. [More]

Bloomberg, MAIG celebrate Independence Day with declaration restricting freedom

And in a Bizarro parody of the Declaration of Independence that, true to the nature of all “progressive” claims, means just the opposite of what they say, they demand government control the populace in an even more “perfect,” that is, perfectly totalitarian union. Considering that Bloomberg and his fellow mayoral travelers are government “officials,” it’s akin to British colonial officials penning the foundational document from 1776 to argue George III needed more power. [More]
Today's Gun Rights Examiner notes that to Bloomberg, "FREEDOM IS SLAVERY" is more than just an Orwellian quote -- it's a way of life. It also suggests a Five-Minute Activism task that lets you join in for some Alinsky Rule 5 fun.

Magical Misery Tour
