Jerry Henry from GCO, David Codrea fresh off the trail of the Gun Rights Policy Conference, Seanto and the Mad Ogre.I was on for the last two hours after getting in from the long drive. I was exhausted, but it was a good way to unwind.

Last Night on Armed American Radio
A Fond Farewell
Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham set the right tone with his tweet: "I appreciate AG Holder's service to our country even though we had strong disagreements at times. I wish him well in future endeavors." [More]Thanks, Grahamnesty. Between that and we ought to thank the guy, who needs syrup of ipecac?
Naturally, they refer to "the bungled 'Fast and Furious' gun-running sting operation," without ever questioning where the potential for a sting was. But what the hell: Even The Washington Times is still throwing out "the botched Fast and Furious gunwalking operation" as if not botching it would have been a better outcome.
The important thing to remember:
Analysts said Mr. Holder — the first sitting Cabinet official ever to face a contempt citation from Congress — will likely duck any legal punishment...
Not the Only One
‘Good Cop’ Could Go to Jail After Reporting Misconduct in His Department [More]We rightfully complain about officers who allow corruption and abuse to occur through their silence. What incentive will we provide to change that, and how are we any different, if we stand by and remain silent ourselves when this occurs?

Shades of Grey
WarOnGuns Correspondent GMW notices every photo in the Everytown banner is in color except the flag, and wonders why. He also notes their logo uses three horizontal lines in an obvious representation of the flag.
Not that I'm signing on to the belief that such stripes have any actual occult significance, and that's not a rabbit hole I intend to go down, except to note that some among the culturally influential elites evidently believe they do...

A Strongly-Worded Letter
You've gotta lay the groundwork and show you tried to resolve things. That should help in the ensuing defamation lawsuit, which one would think would include SPLC. [More]
Lies, Damned Lies and Gun-Grabber Claims
“What we've essentially done is empowered felons to have guns.” [More]Really? Here's Amendment 5:
And here's from the "fair ballot language":
This amendment does not prevent the legislature from limiting the rights of certain felons and certain individuals adjudicated as having a mental disorder."Editorial boards." Is it any wonder we love them so?
UPDATE: See Kurt's take in "Police chief sues to overturn will of the voters, make gun rights 'alienable'."

Those Like Her
Is there any doubt what's in store for us if this domestic enemy and those like her "win"? [More]
Seeing as she's Vice Chair of the DNC, and a contributor to CNN, ABC News, Ms and O Magazines, guess who "those like her" are?

John Snyder decapitates arguments against armed self-defense. [More]
Anti-Gun Activist Maria Faisal is Furious.
Good. Noting the last name and instances in which it occurs on the internet, I have to wonder if she eats pork anyway. [More]
Think about the type of indignant control freak who would react that way to something that is none of her damn business, that is, your typical MILM.
And if you're ever in Port Allen, LA, stop by Bergeron's Restaurant to get your 10% discount.
Give 'em an attaboy here. And ignore the whiner throwing crossbows into the mix just to be a spoiler. If his Facebook page is any indication, he's a Prozi disruptor.

GRPC Update
This one is from Dean Weingarten, who I got a chance to meet in person. [More]
He's a nice man. Those are very kind words.
Check out more from Dean at Gun Watch, at TTAG and at AmmoLand.

GRPC Update 3
in spite of air problems and several speakers not making it, the room was almost full, with hundreds of attendees. Halbrook talked about his Nazi gun law book. Lott took on the FBI report and flawed reporting. Lots of awards given out--even I got one. I give my talk on Authorized Journalists tomorrow morning.
Will have a complete report, probably Monday.
Will be on Gresham's Gun Talk tomorrow afternoon and AAR with Mark Walters tomorrow night.

Venezuela marks International Day of Peace with Orwellian contradiction
This is the ultimate path those who would impose total citizen defenselessness, like all those monopolies that have gone before, would lead us down. That they couch their scheming under banal terms like “common sense gun safety laws” is no matter, because they’ve let slip their end desires too many times, and too many real world examples exist, to ignore they’re playing a game of incremental gains to a deadly end goal. [More]My latest JPFO Alert notes "progressives" who would go so far as to establish common sense toilet paper control" confirm how anal and dangerous they are. That and they're a bunch of psychotic as......
GRPC Update 2
Successful opening night, Hundrreds of attendees in spite of air travel issues. Saw names like Gura, Gresham, Halbrook, Ayoob and plenty more. Noticed conspicuous absence of many more. Attended a special meeting afterward I can't talk about yet.
It's late and tomorrow starts early. There will be schedule changes due to some speakers not being able to make it (I heard, but have not confirmed that Lott will make it in tomorrow afternoon). Here's the agenda pre-airport foul-up.

GRPC Update
We're at our hotel, a few miles away from the event. Heard on the news about the FAA fire debacle closing down Chi-Town air traffic, and am naturally curious to see how badly attendance is hit. Will be going to the gathering tonight at 7pm and will get a feel, although it will no doubt be tomorrow before we get a full read on how many had to cancel completely and what impact that will have on the agenda.
Will try to do updates throughout the stay.

Off to GRPC
I'll be leaving for the Gun Rights Policy Conference tomorrow at dawn's early light. Feral sons Uday and Qusay will be let out of the basement to patrol the premises in my absence, and I'm sure after fighting over the one bowl of kibble I'm leaving them, they'll be ravenous.
I'm told there is still room to accept walk-ins, so if you're anywhere within doable range, there will be plenty of good people there, and plenty of reasons why attending is something all activist gun owners should find a lot of value in, not to mention just a good time. Click here for more details.
I'll be meeting up with colleagues and friends, doing some interviews, learning from all the speakers, having some fun, and doing a panel on the sorry state of journalism with Dave Workman on Sunday morning. While I will be taking a laptop, I probably won't be doing much if any blogging or reporting. We'll see.
So please hold off on all comments and emails until Monday? Because anything I get over the weekend may just need to go unaddressed, so save yourself a useless effort.

Kennedy heir shows ‘progressive’ threats to freedom include more than guns
As an attorney with the finest education from exclusive schools money can buy, Kennedy certainly must be aware that conviction for treason can be punishable by death. And subjecting American citizens to international tribunals for “war crimes” over political differences in environmental policy is not only unprecedented; it’s stark, raving nuts. [More]Today's Gun Rights Examiner report notes an environmentalist-driven reason to stock up on more lead ammo.
