While I have a tough time buying into the contention of the gun-grabbing Seattle PD that the new use of force policy violates their 2A, the judge's "rationale," that we have a right to keep and bear arms, but just not to use them, defies any benchmark for sanity. [More]
Funny, though, how these guys turn to the Constitution when it suits their purposes.
Still, it does highlight a point more in government need to realize -- it just doesn't "protect" us from them...

We're the Only Ones Breaking Bad Enough
Since the manhunt began, Tully has been stopped and questioned by law enforcement officials as many as seven times in a round trip. The stops have always been simple until last week, when an unmarked law enforcement official from an unknown agency forced Tully to the ground by gunpoint, drove his knee into Tully’s back, demanded to know his name, and then threatened to, "break him." After Tully provided identification, the officer continued to badger him until a state police trooper arrived and told the officer on Tully’s back that it wasn't Frein. [More]So: What was the thug's name?
I guess it's a good thing the state police say they have no idea...?

This Day in History: October 23
The States are so tardy in collecting the Taxes, that the most trivial sum cannot be obtained for the most pressing purposes—and in one sense it may be said, that the Officers of the Army are actually starving for want of a small portion of their pay—the Horses of it, for want of money to procure forage, are actually in this condition... Colored By Penny's Feelings
“York, who admitted that her “decision is colored by my feelings,” described her experience of knowing five people who have died from gunfire, four by suicide and one in a hunting incident.” [More]What the hell does that have to do with our rights?
She knew four people who have offed themselves? Who does she hang with, pun intended...?
Again, what does that have to do with the rest of us, and why do these scenes from Airplane! come to mind?
Think Retrogression
It must be Opposite Day: Look who mentions me along with some other folks I'm honored to be mentioned with, in their attempt to show how gun ranges have no better pals than the Obama administration. [More]
I can't speak for what anyone else wrote about, but I specifically cited Illinois Gun Works back in June, 2012.
Oh, look.
By the way, John Monson of Bill's Gun Shop: Do you really think trying to appear reasonable to these hive insects is in the interests of your customers, your industry, your business, or yourself?

So Much for Technological Innovation in Japan
Japan stomps on 3-D printed gun maker for rendering 'gun controls toothless' [More]I wanted to write about this but got sidetracked by other topics.
I'm glad to see Kurt picked up on it, especially since he's written extensively about the 3D printed gun issue, he's absolutely right on about the moral principles and background history involved, plus, let's face it, it's tough to compete with a guy in a red beret, on many levels...

Uncontrolled admission of foreign nationals threatens more than gun rights
Has the administration done impact studies in either case? Might an injunction halting Obama's plans, based on both or either potentiality, be something opponents could use to slow things down until after the elections and the seating of a new majority? [More]This morning's Gun Rights Examiner report considers a "progressive" tactic in the spirit of "Any chair in a bar fight."
Majority Opinion
WA sheriffs oppose 594. [More]
I still note no one is calling the gun-grabbers' bluff by asking them if they only want background checks, and not the registration data that comes with them, why aren't they pushing BIDS?
UPDATE: Workman follows up with "Q. to Giffords in Seattle: ‘What about growing sheriffs’ opposition to 594?’"
