That Rogen and Schumer (and anti-gun sports leagues and networks) rake in tons of money by encouraging people to drink alcoholic beverages seems more than a bit hypocritical. After all, per the National Institute of Health, “Nearly 88,0009 people (approximately 62,000 men and 26,000 women) die from alcohol-related causes annually, making it the third leading preventable cause of death in the United States.” [More]I suspect no one would have anything to do with either unless they were drunk or paid...

Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen Super Bowl Ad Inconsistent with Gun Stance
Less Talk.More Action?
Russ Ramsland, a Texan running for Congress, shoots some boxes. While that in itself doesn't work for me, it's at least indicative that he'll let himself be identified with the issue. [Watch]
He does promise the right things.
The incumbent, Pete Sessions, has an "A" from GOA. He does really well on all immigration issues with the exception of "unnecessary worker visas," where he fails.
All told, I'd need to see more on why a new horse should be saddled. I suppose my old questionnaire could be dusted off and maybe updated, and we could sort the wheat from the chaff...
If anybody has insights, that's what we have comments for. If so, share them now, because I'm not sure when I'll be able to revisit a race that most readers here won't even be aware of, let alone watching.

We're the Only Ones Denied Enough
Confusing N.J. gun laws deny some ex-cops right to carry [More]Why, I'm ... outraged!
Let me put this one right at the top of the ol' priority list!

About That Fourth Circuit 'Strict Scrutiny' Decision
This is another one I need to find time to discuss in detail.
For now, one of the best write-ups I've seen is on Legal Insurrection.
I'm glad to see the standard applied. I find one of the points being emphasized to be extremely dangerous.
More later.

The Militia Menace!
RIGHT-WING EXTREMISTS ARE A BIGGER THREAT TO AMERICA THAN ISIS [More]It says I have to subscribe to read it because I've reached my limit of free reads this month (which I don't recall doing), but that's OK -- it's not like Kurt Buchenwald here is parroting an original talking point.
Yeah, Dylann Roof was all about what we're trying to do here.
I need to find the time to do a write-up on who is behind these claims, and their incentive motives. Hint: They ain't part of any club you and I belong to.
Even if we accept their figures...
Islamists launched nine attacks that murdered 45, while the right-wing extremists struck 18 times, leaving 48 dead......we need to look at what the tally would be if the populations were comparable in size. I mean, that's the same tactic the antis use when they try to con everyone into thinking high "gun control" states housing places like Chicago are more peaceful than the heartland, so why not? Especially since, in this case, it's relevant.
Wanna see who the biggest threat really is...?

What's in a Name?
The Three Percent idea, the movement, the ideal, was designed to be a simple, powerful concept that could not be infiltrated or subjected to agents provocateurs like many organizations that I observed in the constitutional militia movement of the 90s. In this I was both correct and dead wrong, as I have been battling folks almost since the beginning who have misunderstood, deliberately or not, what the Three Percent was in history, what it is today and what its aims are for the future. . . [More]It's more than just a name for someone to call himself.
There are those appropriating it out of ignorance and those appropriating it out of intent.
Control the language and influence the way people perceive, think and act.
Most Americans Agree?
Not if the yellow-to-red indicator at the bottom of the video is any ... uh ... indicator. And ditto for the comments. [More]
All six of them. Which doesn't show much interest, let alone agreement, especially when you consider all that free publicity from the "Authorized Journalists."
Have another drink, Dennis.
Everybody knows who co-founded "Funny or Die," right? And who has emerged as one of the more self-important of the citizen disarmament-enabling "celebrities"?
This overrated tool.
And the Bipolar 'Convictions' Award Goes To...
Chuck Hagel Encourages Michael Bloomberg on 2016 Race [More]Yeah, that Chuck Hagel:
Hagel scores A by NRA on pro-gun rights policiesSo who they want to give power to count? Just the "right" political trade off votes?
That certainly explains the single-minded focus on that "single issue."
You know, the NSA collecting phone records.
As for "pathway to citizenship amnesty"? Hey, it's not like reconstituting the electorate has any bearing on gun laws, is it?
We can still give "A's" to politicians who vote our way -- for now -- and who support that, can't we?
'The Best Provocateurs are Well Trained Con Men'
That's been a concern from Day One of this. [More]
From before this, actually.
No, I could not name names without wholly relying on hearsay and circumstantial evidence.

Organizing for Action Lying about Guns (Again)
“Someone from the sheriff’s department told me later that the killer used a gun that he bought legally, with no background check, from a seller on Facebook,” Clark continued in the OFA email. He was a convicted felon.” [More]Simply put, if he was a convicted felon, the man could not have bought a gun “legally.” And OFA knows that.
J'Accuse!
Federal grand jury returns indictments against Bundys and co-defendants [More]Here's the redacted complaint. When indictment docs are available, I'll look to either update this post or do a standalone.
WTF on the controlled release of Shawna Cox but not letting her to go to LaVoy's funeral?
We've seen such unwarranted federal cruelty before.

Oath Keepers Interviews
In this audio Interview Stewart Rhodes interviews Greg McWhirter, an Oath Keeper SWAT officer, about the road block and tactics used on LaVoy Finicum and the rest of the Citizens for Constitutional Freedom on that fateful night last Tuesday, January 26, 2016. [More]Also, if you missed it, here's Stewart's last interview with LaVoy Finicum.
Clear and Present Danger
Extremist groups motivated by a range of U.S.-born philosophies present a "clear and present danger," John Carlin, the Justice Department's chief of national security, told Reuters in an interview. “Based on recent reports and the cases we are seeing, it seems like we’re in a heightened environment.” [More]And guess who the "extremists" are? Go on, guess.

First Time ‘Progressive’ Gun Owner Confirms Views Shaped By Ignorance and Fear
“All of that rapid fire made me just want to duck and hide, not fight,” Sullivan whimpered. “I let out a little cry each time I fired. It was all so startling.” [More]This is the one I had to rewrite from yesterday because I thought the writer was a guy.
The Antis Have Been Right All Along!
A gun in the home is more likely to cause injury or death, and the greatest danger is likely to come from someone you know! [More]
That is, if you're "an active member with the 52 Bloodstone Villians" (and yeah, that's the way the spell it)...
The MILMs bring some much-needed perspective:
