Seems Like Everybody's Getting in on the Act

The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence sent out a press release today with four proposed questions for Judge Gorsuch’s confirmation hearing. [More]
Ramesh Ponnuru's answers hardly shed any more light on where the nominee actually stands on RKBA, but it does provide neocon cover from answering any questions that would.

The same kind of deflection kept most from grokking the point on Grover, too. That's what happens when smaller voices are drowned out.

Unclear on the Concept

It would appear some comment posters don't have a problem with NRA/Republican brand "gun control." [More]

We're the Only Ones Licensed to Kill Enough

[I]t’s a case in which judges held that an officer was immune from even possibly paying compensation to the family of the man he wrongly killed. [More]
No, of course such "immunity" doesn't work both ways. That's why it's "qualified."

Duh.

'You are Being Lied to and Intentionally Misinformed'

[W]hy can’t Law Enforcement Officers pull over, detain and search anyone that they see on the road to check and make sure that they have a license and that they are not under the influence? Because you have the right to be free from unreasonable search and seizure as recognized in the Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution as well as Article 1, Section 7 of the Connecticut constitution. [More]
The antis don't much like those, either.

I mean, I know it's Detroit and all, but the presence of Border Patrol and ICE suggests Pollo Jorge was running things.

I guess "progressive animal rights" people prefer to embrace the cultural diversity, just like the environmentalcases who warn us about the migratory disruptions of a wall are pretty much silent about trash and hazardous waste impacts.

Sessions Embracing ‘Project Exile’ a Result of Exclusive NRA Influence with Trump on Guns

So expect AG Sessions to go forward with a renewed “gun control” enforcement emphasis, and attribute that to NRA having near exclusive access to President Trump’s ear on the gun issue. That’s due not only to its early and continued political support of his candidacy, but also because the other national gun group with a dog in the Exile fight, Gun Owners of America, sat on its hands, declining to endorse Trump after its preferred candidate, Ted Cruz, had been sidelined. Agree with that stance on principle or not, the political reality – and that’s the field lobbyists play on – is that NRA has a seat at the table. [More]
So Project Exile not only doesn't work and isn't Constitutionally authorized, but I never did hear back from the "enforce existing gun laws" crowd on how that's any different from saying "enforce existing Intolerable Acts."

The Wearin' o' the Green

Nope, no stereotypes here...
St. Patrick's day encourages and perpetuates the idea of whiteness and white culture. It otherizes non-whites and promotes nationalism. [More]
I actually hope it's not a joke because of the alienation potential.

Take Action!

You will be able to thank your Representative if he or she voted for the bill. Or express your disapproval if your congressman voted against it. [More]
If they voted against it, it's because they are secure on their blue turf and know they can do so with impunity.

So What's the Problem Here?

We're the Only Ones Course-Setting Enough

During the intermission however, Parker must have decided that guard work was too monotonous, as he left Fords Theater to instead attended a local saloon, at one point even briefly conversing with the actor and soon to be assassin, John Wilkes Booth. [More]
And the tradition continues to this day.

Right Justification

Can the armed citizen justify defensive display of a firearm or shooting to stop a physical beating? [More]
Of course, but less successfully (legally) if the beater has a badge and disarmament edicts are in place.

Just ask Karolina Obrycka.

We're the Only Ones Cutting Edge Enough

The officer mistook wadcutter .38 bullets for blanks. This is the consequence of hiring cops who aren’t “gun people.” [More]

And If You Act Now, We'll Throw in the Ginsu Knives

"[H]igh-capacity semi-automatic pistol" told me all I need to know. [More]

And Oathbreak Ridge being behind it confirmed things for me.

So the "solution" is intrusive sensors everywhere and a team of "rapid response" thugs ready to assault anyone who produces a hit? What could go wrong?

My first thought would be to coerce Alex here to walk through in a manner guaranteed to trigger the "first responders" and then have my team take them out. But I've been watching too much "24."

Besides, it's not like the Founder told us what was really "necessary to the security of a free State" or anything.  Who would have thought it was a subscription to "investment advice" from a guy with no discernible professional security (as opposed to securities) credentials in his CV?
