USMC Unit Deploys to Norway with Suppressors, Doesn’t Want to Go Back [More]
What they're doing in Norway notwithstanding, the experience-based reaction is interesting and a key to increasing demand.  It sure makes the infringements against them seem absurdly evil.

An Indisputable Truth

Court records show the man authorities say gunned down an Ohio village police chief and two nursing home employees had a history of violence, including against the nurse who was among the slain. [More]
No matter how hard you try, no one can escape the law.

A Permanent Solution

But Superior Court Judge James Cox refused to evict the 65-year-old's nightmare tenant and gave him a five-yard restraining order. He told them both to attend a court hearing in two weeks for them to organize a permanent solution. [More]
Man that judge is good!  His mandate was so effective they didn't even need that hearing!

We're the Only Ones Rolling Over Enough

A Miami-Dade County Parks and Recreation officer ran over three Crandon Park beachgoers with his county truck as they lay on the sand Friday evening ... The officer, whose name has not been released ... had not been cited. [More]
If you don't like the way he drives, get off the damn beach.

Less than Ideal Conceal?

Gun disguised as smartphone made by US based Ideal Conceal about to go on sale [More]
Note the criticism of the concept by the police trainer. You can learn more about his creds, and they are considerable, here.

Undoubtedly its deployment and capacity limitations make it less than ideal for all situations, but it would still be plenty better than nothing for many situations. Plus I just think it's kind of a neat idea, and obviously a labor of ingenuity and love. And there are a couple advantages I can think of:

There are many urban and commercial areas in "open carry" states, where bearing arms has not been normalized. And that's something to consider for gun owners who refuse to get a concealed carry "permit" out of principle (and are tired of putting themselves at "legal" risk by carrying anyway), and who wish to avoid the negative consequences of standing out in the crowd by wearing openly.

Plus, Chuck Schumer hates them.

New Washington State Background Check Failure Reporting Law Raises Questions

“Work on the bill represented coordination among the National Rifle Association, the Alliance for Gun Responsibility, law enforcement organizations and victim’s rights groups.” [More]
Is helping with incremental steps toward the gun-grabber goal really a good idea?

Well THAT'S F#@!*d Up

It looks like all my old Examiner.com stuff, including all of the original Fast and Furious reports, is now being blocked from Wayback Machine retrieval "due to robots.txt."

I hope it's just a temporary glitch over at the Internet Archive. Otherwise, that's years of stuff that I often still need to refer to because it's the only documentation out there.

Yes, I still have Word documents, but those do not contain revisions or links added in the publishing tool on the journey from draft to final. It would literally take thousands of hours to reconstruct everything, a task I'll never be able to even attempt without giving up everything else.

I need to look into this, but not today. I need to focus on what's in front of me and channel the negativity (putting it mildly) I'm feeling over this into some serious workaround calculating.

God, those people were/are douchebags.

Big for Their Age

From The Gun Feed, via email:
May 2017 marks the four year anniversary of the launch of the firearm news website called The Gun Feed.
The Gun Feed is a 24/7 news website (Its like Drudge Report, but for guns) that is proudly devoted to the online firearms community. The site showcases the latest firearms news headlines from around the web and is updated many times throughout the day, everyday.
The Gun Feed was first launched in May of 2013, and since its inception it has seen a ground-swell of support within the firearms community and has experienced exponential growth in traffic. During it's four years on the web, The Gun Feed has covered more than 62,000 firearms related stories and established itself as the go-to resource for the most up to date and breaking firearms news on the web.
The Gun Feed has helped bring far reaching recognition to some of the great stories of the gun rights movement, and it has helped to shape and define the fight against the civilian disarmament movement that is currently being waged in this country.
If you have not visited the site before then go check it out... Bookmark it, make it your homepage, and visit back often. The website is continually being updated with fresh news headlines so there is always something new and interesting for firearm owners to read.
The Gun Feed also has a dedicated mobile page and it works great on mobile devices.
All correspondence, advertising inquiries, and news tips can be sent to TheGunFeed@Gmail.com.
You can also connect with The Gun Feed on Twitter… @TheGunFeed... and on Facebook.
It's a really good aggregator. And with routine suppression from news feeds, the dominance of "mainstream media" agenda spin and social media bias, we need all the channels of truth dissemination we can get.

Good Job

Stewart Rhodes interviews well. [Watch]

You can tell the reporters were expecting a different demeanor and level of knowledge, probably due in no small part to prevalent parroted talking points originating at SPLC.

Even the Gun-Grabbers Agree

"... Shannon Watts is a self-promoting tyrant.” [More]
Well...yeah. And that makes me wonder about preexisting conditions.

But here's what really caught my eye:
Everytown announced a slew of new hires in April ... including ... former Republican congressional staffer Kirk Fordham.
Any RINO politician who has anything to do with this character ever again should be made to regret it.

What's in YOUR Holster?

I typically stay away from "hardware" posts for a number of reasons, not the least being that's not what I choose to focus on, and another being "A man's gotta know his limitations." That said, The Survivalist Blog gives its rationale for whose guns to carry, and significantly for my niche interests, whose guns not to. [More]

The Hawaii Loophole

In Monday's opinion, the [Indiana] Supreme Court wholly agreed with Judge May's analysis.  Specifically, the court ruled that a police officer, acting only on a tip that a person possesses a handgun, may not detain that person to confirm that he has a license to carry... [More]
As George Pace reminds me via email:
Hawaii would be the only state in the nation where this ruling would not apply (should it be appealed to and upheld by SCOTUS), and would allow police to do the stop and frisk because the "only ones" here would state in court "Your Honor, we knew this person in "the mere possession of a handgun" was illegally carrying a firearm because not one single person in the state of Hawaii may lawfully bear a firearm outside their home because no such currently valid permits have been issued."
Aloha ʻOe.

The Wild West at Its Worst

Curtis-Gazit argues that Forest Service Road 357 should simply be closed to recreational shooting. But in addressing concerns there or in any one specific location, Williams said, "We want to ensure that we don't continue to move the issue across the forest or into less desirable places." [More]
Translation: She doesn't want shooting anywhere. I'd be curious to know the split of residents making noise and those who enjoy living in an area where they've always had access to nearby areas.

Methinks Jane has a broader agenda:
“It sounds like you’re in a war zone, especially when they have the high powered rifles and AK-47s,” said Jane Curtis-Gazit who lives less than a mile from where she says irresponsible shooting is abundant on shared public land. A few weeks ago, she said, one of those bullets flew right over her head.
Local media sure likes to parrot her talking points.

The fact that "A person was recently ticketed for illegal shooting" also tells us there are already restrictions in the area that the "reporter" has not seen fit to elaborate on.
