Doing the Jobs Mexicans Won't Do?

American model Lauryn Elaine, French model Marie Brethenoux and Turkish model Elif Celik were taken into custody on Thursday because Mexican authorities believed they were “‘working’ without a visa.” [More]
Huh. I guess "sanctuary" isn't reciprocal. Their citizens come and work (and use public resources)  illegally here, by the millions, and those objecting are called racists and told to go back to Europe.

That said, nice huddled masses yearning to breathe free.

We're the Only Ones Undisclosed Enough

The FBI and investigating law enforcement agencies have declined to identify the other four agents who were on the scene. The FBI spokesman also declined to discuss whether they were still members of HRT or, like Astarita, had been moved to an “administrative capacity.” [More]
Stonewalling? The Feds...?

"You take the red pill—you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes."

On a tangentially-related note, anybody ever figure out how many hostages the HRT has rescued? Last time I raised that question, some bird of prey feathers got ruffled.

Right. They're the ones doing this.

Paul Waldman. Figures.

It also figures they don't provide for comments.  Mustn't alter the echo chamber acoustics.

GOGI

Repeated and widespread fraud within the global refugee system highlights the limitations of the vetting process.  [More]
Now wait just a damn second there-- we have it on good authority the process is "rigorous."

The biggest problem with this (positively Groverian) Heritage Happy Talk about "reform":

Anybody see the words "vote" or "Democrat" in those 50 times throughout the report they mentioned the word "assimilate" in some form? And what "American values"?  The ones that are being disparaged and eviscerated as racist, sexist and LGBTQphobic, by the very party the neocons are assuring will become a politically unchallengeable majority, with attendant control of legislatures and courts?

Nothing here will stop the cultural terraforming and the political takeover. And no one at Heritage can answer my challenge:

Produce credible data – not anecdotes, not opinions, but something that can be independently validated – that "birthright citizenship" and a “pathway to citizenship” for MILLIONS of foreign nationals, "legal" and illegal, WILL NOT overwhelmingly favor Democrats and anti-gunners.

And while you're at it, explain how the best thing we can do for that "single issue" is to ignore those realities when we endorse politicians.

Cry, the Betrayed Country

Those of you who have handed firearms in to the SAPS because your licences have expired would do well to go and retrieve your lawful property as soon as possible. [More]
Once Parliament passes a "proper" edict, we'll know where to go to get it back.

On the Horns of a Dilemma

If they don't get the info, illegal voting and hijacking of the electoral process and resultant political power shifts culminating in the death of the Republic will continue. If they do get it, privacy rights will be violated? [More]

Through all the sound and fury, I'm not seeing much of a discussion  on enumerated powers.

Admitting I'm out of my depth, I'm unclear on what's being matched that's not already known in some form to the feds, like Social Security numbers. I even have mixed feelings about confidentiality of votes-- true, you don't want intimidation, but by the same token, if your public act of voting enables a criminal, you own your share of culpability.

And on the ever-present other hand, any power ceded to Trump will be passed on to his successor...

Even Yul can't help me with this one.

Silent Running

“It’s not surprising,” David Codrea, an author and firearms blogger, said in an interview. “There is a prominent police presence in the NRA and on its board. It’s a source of revenue and gravitas.  [More]
In other words, those holed up in Fairfax ain't about to rock that boat on something as potentially disruptive to access and to the bottom line as gun owner rights.

So it's not about "racism" per se, even if the effects of silence result in injustices. And those motivated to insist otherwise are enabled by a familiar pattern of the top brass hiding and hoping it will all blow over.

No, that's not accurate.

But it should surprise no one that they're being portrayed as the bigger threat by those whose plans don't include nationhood.
