By the Numbers

The Cost of Illegal Immigration [More]
Ands then there are the real costs yet to be incurred.

I see the Gatestone report cites Lott.

I wonder if he'll ever publicly point out the debacle his co-author's "immigration" stance will guarantee...

Every Silver Lining's Got a Touch of Grey

Good Samaritan situations can be unpredictable and do not always go so well for the people intervening, even when the person trying to help is an officer and trained. [More]
What, you didn't expect WaPo to admit a successful DGU without doing its utmost to convince everyone they're too dangerous for "regular" people to even think about attempting, did you?

We're the Only Ones Dodgy Enough

Ex-Bel-Ridge cop who helped woman dodge community service sentenced - to community service [More]
So if that's all you get for lying to law enforcement, what's the deal with all those non-"Only Ones" deemed felons and "prohibited persons"?

Another Case of Unequal Treatment Under the Law

A Kansas City man’s Facebook live broadcast of himself driving around while holding a gun had one very interested viewer. And that viewer — a Kansas City police detective — captured the broadcast on his own video camera. As a result, 24-year-old Deleon Reed is now charged in federal court with being a felon in possession of a firearm — a felony that could send him back to prison for up to 10 years. [More]
So why do "authorities" continue being deliberately indifferent to "white privileged" Pokey-Poke not only mass-flouting the law (while abetted by Hollywood accomplices), but being fabulously rewarded for it?

I'd say I'm surprised no one from the "social justice" community is raising hell about the selective enforcement -- especially when the one getting away with this "injustice" has a history of actual "hate crime" convictions -- except to note that chances are most will never know about it thanks to "mainstream press" gatekeeping.

Coming Soon to a Sanctuary State Near You

For those who think California politics is on the far-left fringe of the national spectrum, stand by. The next election season, already well underway here, will showcase a younger generation of Democrats that is more liberal and personally invested in standing up to President Trump’s Washington than those leaving office. [More]
And just wait 'til you see the generation after that

Not that it has anything to do with that "single issue."

Sympathy for the Devil

Not that I give a damn about that pig, but this broad is just plain nuts:
‘I Didn’t Agree to Your Cis F—ing World’
I wonder how many unclean spirits have taken up residence in there, because her rage is clearly at God.

Her childish complaint reminds me of when I was like nine, and did something assholish meriting justified parental chastisement.

"I never asked to be born!" I bellowed from my room (like that's original), posing as the still-defiant injured party while knowing deep down I deserved whatever they would mete out and then some.

Denial of that truth is the hallmark of sociopaths and worse.

Give Me Your Tired, Your Poor, Your Huddled Masses Yearning to Breathe Free Stuff

The mayor of Stockton, California, is leading an experiment with “universal basic income,” which is set to start by giving low-income residents $500 a month, no questions asked. [More]
Some people never learn.

Please sir, I want some more.

They sure are generous with other people's money.

In the interests of humanity, I'm thinking of printing cards to hand to local off-ramp cardboard sign-holding beggars and let them know there are warmer climes and easier pickings. Right now I'm stuck on a slogan: "Go west young man" or "California or bust"... ?

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Big Game

At least 40 people strung themselves across the Metro Transit Green Line tracks near the University of Minnesota, blocking the tracks midafternoon for ticket holders using the line to get to the stadium. [More]
Hmmm...

More to the Point

You are missing the point…it isn’t about “self-reporting”, it is about BEING reported. [More]
That's what the "identity theft" alludes to -- I suppose I could have fleshed that out a bit more:
Nor does it specify safeguards and penalties against identity theft and “false positives” that result in a wrong person being denied.

Exclusive: 3,000 Tyrants

“Which is better—to be ruled by one tyrant three thousand miles away or by three thousand tyrants one mile away?”—Mather Byles [More]
King George III with his “swarms of officers sent hither” was a greenhorn by comparison.

California’s Self-Reporting Gun Block Bill a Reflection of Wider Cultural Suicide

That’s a fair question, not that Bonta’s bill has a chance of accomplishing stated goals. Of course, it does not, and it goes far beyond just affecting the person who self-reports. [More]
Once more California is leading the way in self-terminating rights.

One Question

GOP-led Va. House approves 'Stop Gun Violence' license plate [More]
So who were the traitors?

Not that I really care if useful idiots want to pay money to announce to the world they're probably defenseless, but there's an expectation that's been let down here.

Democrats Vow to Push for Gun Control Laws [More]
How big of an idiot do you have to be to support them in this?

Another Preemptive Strike

Ohio Supreme Court rules against Cleveland's efforts at local gun control [More]
How many times has Cleveland lost on preemption now over the years? I guess it's not really their money.

Sure

They initially met resistance from a small, but boisterous, group defending Second Amendment rights. However, each side listened to the other's position, and support for taking guns away from domestic abusers gained an ally. "We support the moms in this. We are all against domestic abusers. We believe they're criminals. They shouldn't have handguns, or guns of any kind," said one Second Amendment right's activist. [More]

Coming Soon, to a Refugee Relocation Center Near You

Eritreans and Afghans fought running battles in broad daylight, some armed with rods and metal poles, television pictures showed. It was not clear who was armed with firearms. [More]
That's probably because that would be against the law in France.

N'est-ce pas?

Tell Congress to Pass S. 446 Now

The answer is that, if 1.8 million "dreamers" and perhaps millions of their relatives are given American citizenship and the vote, there's a pretty good chance that Texas, Florida, Arizona, and many other states will turn "deep blue" -- probably sooner rather than later.  [More]
Nice to see them finally making some noise about this and relating it to that "single issue."

If you have a senator worth approaching, do this.

If you don't, send a message to one who is worth approaching. If you can't do it through the GOA tool, figure out a workaround, like via email or Twitter or some such.
