An Excuse That Still Works Here

Mayoral Q & A: Treating violent crime in Kansas City as a public health emergency [More]
Fortunately, they're in a high-useful idiot concentration zone, so that old misdirect still distracts from reality.

To Each According to His Need

Getting a paycheck for doing nothing could be in the future for residents of New Jersey's largest city.  Newark Mayor Ras Baraka says the city is going to study a pilot program to provide a universal basic income, or basically guaranteeing income for all residents whether they have a job. [More]
The shithole just got shitholier. And yeah, it goes without saying with commie mayors.

And am I the only one noticing that Marx was sexist, or hateful to non-binaries, or whatever the hell they're calling pronoun microagressions these days?

So Much for Verifying Sources

Earlier this week, transcripts were released that show that Steele admitted to using an unverified 2009 iReport on CNN’s website. An iReport is where any member of the public can go onto CNN’s site and report information. Steele claims that he had no clue that the CNN report he used was unverified and posted by a random person. [More]
Now that's something to issue a subpoena over, to find out who wrote it and who that person's "influencers" are...

Well Said!

Lies of Omission

Hours after the attack, police released the name and image of a man they want to find in connection with the shooting: Gökmen Tanis, 37, who was born in Turkey. [More]
Funny... his name comes up in searches but at this writing, there's no mention of that in the BBC report -- and right under the headline it says:

It's enough to make a fella ask why.

And why the f*** we're subsidizing these Limey propagandists even a penny though our State Department and USAid.

‘Restrictive’ New Zealand Gun Laws Useless at Stopping Mosque Massacres

New Zealand requires criminal and mental health checks with third-party character references. It has licensing and registration “of individual civilians licensed to acquire, possess, sell or transfer a firearm or ammunition.” It has domestic violence prohibitions.  Compare that to the “Universal Background Check” and “Red Flag/ERPO” edicts demanded for the U.S. as “common sense.” Private sales require a license, and “The buyer of a firearm in a private sale in New Zealand is obliged to pass official background checks before taking possession.” [More]
The very measures the gun-grabbers say will "work" here did not work there. Be honest: Who's surprised?

Founding Intent

Their function is to sustain a modern fighting force that does not consist of professional soldiers but of civilians who are able and willing to defend their communities. They are in fact a check and balance to an overreaching tyrannical government. [More]
Which pretty much makes legislation infringing on that capability a deliberate weakening of the security of a free State, and an act of treason...

A Good First Step

Andrew McDaniel, (R-Deering), introduced House Bill 1108 on Feb. 28. According to the bill’s description, it would establish the McDaniel Militia Act, “which requires every person between 18 and 35 years of age who can legally possess a firearm to own an AR-15 and authorizes a tax credit for a purchase of an AR-15.” [More]
As long as it also accommodates those conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms, you bet.

If it's really a militia act, why not M16s and military grade AKs?

Cutting Edge Control

Cornwall MP ridiculed over knife GPS tweet [More]
Tell me he was joking and everyone who thinks otherwise needs to have their sarcasm meter adjusted.

But if he wasn't, and if the money is there to pay for this, I'd also like to suggest StabSpotter, microphones embedded everywhere attuned to detect the sound of stabbings and alert authorities. I bet it would be every bit as effective at stopping acts of violence as its gunshot-locating counterpart.

Two Wolves and a Sheep

In a party-line decision, the state Senate voted 25-16 on Tuesday night to make New Mexico part of a multistate compact that would elect the president by popular vote. [More]
Are they planning on seceding? Because last I checked, the Constitution, enacted by Founders who warned against the tyranny of an unchecked majority, was still "the supreme Law of the Land" and Section. 4. mandates:
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government...
The alternative being plotted here is eviscerates checks and balances against manipulation of the populace. There's nothing to stop them from all getting together and declaring the Bill of Rights, which were considered at the time to be unalienable, revoked.

This is a Rubicon that demands free men rebel against. No wonder those pushing it want us disarmed.
