Break with Extradition?

That Hapgood chose to return even once to Anguilla after his experience there — let alone multiple times for various legal proceedings — defies logic. [More]
Does he have a choice?

A Token 'Republican'

MSNBC 'Republican': Play 'Dirty Pool' with NRA Board Members, 'Go After Their Businesses' ... the only way to get congressmen to come around on gun control will be when a "critical mass" has been personally affected by mass shootings. She noted that, so far, "we have seen [only] one congressman get there." [More]
This evil fool had better hope we never reach critical mass.

Now everyone settle down and let's approach this in the spirit of compromise. If "endowed by our Creator" bothers you, there's a secular "inherent to the condition of being human" alternative you can use. And as for an AR-15, yeah, a fair reading would say that's a bit limited for intended purposes and a minimum of "in common use at the time" M4s should be encouraged, at least until upgrades in capability are available.

The Things People Believe

"If performed properly, it would have prevented Dylann Roof from purchasing the gun he used to kill these very innocent people in a church.” [More]
What about a different gun?

Tell me this isn't all symptomatic of the clusterf***ocracy we're living under.

Ah, see? If we'd only had ERPOs!

Except the "failed background check" kind of takes the wind out of those sails.

Still, the requisite "AR-style rifle" helps. And leave it to MSN to assure us the semi-auto "sprayed bullets."

Funny-- you'd think by now "we'd" know something about his politics. I can't help but feel someone "in authority" does.

Media Exploiting Odessa Shooting Before Facts Known

The killers are NEVER believers in the Constitution because that ideology requires the commitment to champion the rights of the individual. Randomly executing strangers with no delegated authority and without due process is a rejection of all of that, and the work of a bloody-handed collectivist. [More]
The killers have one thing in common: They're all collectivists, regardless of what the say they espouse. FYI, I wrote and submitted this on Sunday morning, before anything more was known.

Ask a Stupid Question

It’s funny that the party making so much noise about equality is adamantly opposed to equalizers. How is a woman to defend herself from a guy coming at her with a sledgehammer if not by exercising her Second Amendment rights? [More]
With her bodyguards, of course.

It's a Big Club and You're In It

I'm proposing that we campaign to reduce gun violence, and to meet our constitutional duty, by requiring that every member of the militia — which, of course,  we'll redefine to eliminate the obvious sexism and make it all adults — must own at least one long gun, one handgun, and 1,000 rounds of ammunition for each, or pay an annual $1,000 tax for failing to do so. [More]
Well, the Founders did put in a militia duty exemption for those "conscientiously scrupulous of bearing arms"...

I do have to wrestle with the coercive nature of that and wonder if things couldn't be worked out more along the lines of if you don't help, you don't get helped.
