We Don't Need No Stinkin' Posse Comitatus Act

"President Bush's push to give the military a bigger role in responding to major disasters like Hurricane Katrina could lead to a loosening of legal limits on the use of federal troops on U.S. soil."

  1. In the movie "The Siege", Bruce Willis' character said "The army is a broadsword, not a scalpel." In other words, the military is trained to kill people and break things. Expanding their powers over American citizens on the pretext of an emergency is a sure recipe for Constitutional disaster. (Not that anyone in power gives a damn!)
