What Kind of Example Are These People Setting for Our Children?

"I was standing on the front porch with a shotgun keeping an eye on things. I could hear people breaking into houses right around the corner. We knew. We knew we had to get out. There was no police presence. The people are just going crazy. There doesn't seem to be any authority at all...

"Earlier today, a man came up to me. I think he wanted the canoe. He saw I was armed and gave up.

"We happened to pass this mall and people were looting it.

"People told us the police went in there so they started shooting at the police. So the police left. They (looters) just set the place on fire. We saw it burning and we saw the fire department not even going near the place because the looters were going nuts."

The Brady Center, of course, knows better:

"Recent research has shown that most Americans feel less safe when others in the community acquire firearms: 71% of all Americans and 85% of non-gun owners came to this conclusion. Clearly, as the authors noted, 'the decision to own a firearm is more than solely a personal or a household issue - it affects others in the community as well.' The decision to allow citizens to carry firearms outside of their homes would arguably have an even more detrimental effect on feelings of safety.

"More importantly, one has to wonder what the National Rifle Association's mantra that 'an armed society is a polite society' is teaching our children. The rhetoric of the gun lobby suggests that only by carrying a weapon can one be safe in the United States. They claim that law enforcement cannot be trusted to protect society."

  1. Hopefully, we're showing our children that there will always be evil people in the world, and that it's just and right to fend off looters with deadly force if necessary. The Brady Bunch, however, wants us to teach our children to be defeneless and docile sheep--and that's not acceptable!

As for "claiming" that the police won't protect us, well, we don't have to "claim" it anymore. The cops there just proved us right!

  2. RJ, rather than go do their jobs when ordered to go back and restore order they started turning in their badges. It isn't just can't protect us, it is also, don't want to do so.

We didn't need to wait for this example to exhibit our claim's accuracy. What did the police do at Columbine, or South Central Los Angeles?

Three strikes you're out, right? Well, let's count 'em. The court has ruled in at least five cases that the police have no duty to protect citizens (strike 1), nor can they be held liable if they don't even answer the calls to a crime in progress, even if it involves murder (strike 2), nor do they have the desire to do so of their own volition. They have proved time and again that they will stand back and intentionally let citizens die to avoid risk to themselves, despite their "superior skills, training and equipment".(strike 3)

The debate is over. Brady and VPC want to see innocents die and will do what they can to accomodate that end to achieve their own political ascendancy. These people are evil. We must quit treating them and those that mimic them with respect and we must call them out on it. This is not debate with someone of a differing viewpoint. This a war against those that weaken you so they can rule.

  3. IMHO, the leaders of the Brady Center and the VPC deserve no respect at all. They deserve nothing but contempt, scorn and worse. We should no longer have to suffer the presence of such vermin in our society.
