Carrion is heard telling the officer he is unarmed and is in the military.Naturally, his name was not released. Naturally, he's being placed on paid leave.
At one point, a voice is heard saying several times: "Get up."
Carrion says: "I'm gonna get up." As he rises, at least four shots are fired and Carrion collapses, crying out in pain.
"Shots fired! Shots fired!" someone shouts.
In a telephone interview conducted in Spanish, Valdez said after the shooting, Carrion asks the deputy, "Why did you shoot me if you told me to stand up?" That alleged exchange cannot be heard on the video.
The deputy, whose name was not released, was placed on paid administrative leave, a routine procedure in officer-involved shootings.

Paid leave, my ass. The cowardly bastard needs to be sitting in jail awaiting attempted murder prosecution.
ReplyDeleteAs I know this will never happen as long as there are "special" people, I operate on the principle that if such is ever done to me or mine and I am not dead, I will hunt the coward down and take him out and any that defend him. I have sworn this before all I hold dear. It is not a new stance for me, I swore this more than a decade ago.....it seems even more appropriate now.
I really don't know what else anybody can do since the system is in the hands of the thugs and their thug masters. My oath is not a cure for what is broken, but it is an expensive and personal downside for any that unjustly transgress me or mine. It is called defense of life against the criminal element.
The dumb descendants of a long line of unmarried people aren't even smart enough to see that they are sowing the seeds of their own destruction in the mistaken belief that they control all the force. They mistake organization for evidence of superiority. When liberty becomes dear enough they will learn a different view of reality.
A sheriff and prosecutor that fail to do their duty in situations such as this are terrorists and traitors and should be tried for treason. NO, that is not overreaction. Nothing can hurt our nation worse than sponsoring a killer elite, domestic or not. Make no mistake that is what the police are rapidly becoming, a killer elite, protected by their masters from legal ramifications. That is treasonous.
No wonder they want us disarmed. Just like the airman. Didn't keep him safe, did it? Why! I don't that's their real reason. DUH!
ReplyDeletedropped a word around here somewhere. anybody seen it? no,......oh,wait, there it is!
ReplyDelete"think" that was the word I left out.
"I don't that's their real reason." Just put in here between 'don't' and 'that's'.
Boy, is THIS cop a poster boy for gun control...for the COPS!
ReplyDeleteThis is proof positive that some cops are our enemy!
Of course, this knothead was only doing his duty, so he'll get at most paid admininstrative leave. If it had been us, we'd never see the sun again!
Prosecute the cop!
ReplyDeleteTake his house, his car(s) and put him in prison in the general population for abuse of authority under color of law and attempted murder.
If the airman had died will anyone bet me he and his department would have twisted this into a justified shooting?
Where I live in California a law abiding citizen can't get a CCW to save his / her life without being a personal friend of the sheriff, contributing noticably to his campagn organization or making some other payoff.
If the sheriff / police chief stands behind this shooting and if the DA does not insist on prosecution they should be turned out and also prosecuted for negligent supervision and for policies promoting this behavior.
And the County should pay - a lot.
This county needs to be investigated!
Fight islam NOW
Why am I not surprised to hear ANOTHER one of these stories.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know the law for the use of lethal force is the same for LEOs and non LEOs. The same criteria apply and there is no "other" law that allows LEOs to shoot with impunity.
If you or I shot this guy 3 or 4 times after he was prone our butts would be in ALL SORTS of trouble!
This CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO KEEP HAPPENING!! Wearing a badge to holding public office does NOT convey special title or make you an Uber-citizen!
Watched the video 5 times last night. One thought kept leaping to the forefront. That thought was that the officer didn't seem to be aware there were any witnesses, or at least not any filming the incident.
ReplyDeleteIt struck me that he intended to kill the man from the beginning. I couldn't help but think,'he is relying on his dashboard cam to record the visual image of the subject getting up, but not sound, then he would claim "fear for his life" because the victim tried to rise and attack him.'
I now think the cop had it in his mind that somebody was going to pay for scaring him with a high speed chase. It just looks so much like he intended to murder the man and walk away from it. I really don't think he knew he was being recorded.
If he isn't tried for attempted premeditated murder, there are some police officials and prosecutors that need some prison time.
If all the politicians that claim they don't want vigilante justice mean it, they had better see to it that it isn't the only kind available.
