Dear Friends of Angel,
This is to report that there still isn't much that can be reported about Angel's situation, and that I'm remembering that there are a lot of you out there who wish to be kept informed.
The next significant news should come after Angel's first court date next Tuesday, March 14th.
Meanwhile, thanks loads of those of you who have sent in a donation to help defray Angel's legal expenses. I still have confidence in Angel's attorneys, but there will be a bill.
Information about our fundraising to help Angel, and previous news, are gathered at:

As a bonus to reward all of you for your patience in waiting for news
about Angel, you may have a look at:

If you haven't yet, you might want to cruise over to the Montana Shooting Sports Association Website at:

Hey, many of MSSA's members don't live in Montana, but dream of coming to the state which attorney/author Dave Kopel says has the best (fewest) gun laws in the U.S., maybe the World. There is an area there about our "Successes", and also membership information.
Thanks for being patient, keeping the faith, and supporting Angel.
Best wishes,
Gary Marbut, president

Thanks, David, for the updates on Angel.
ReplyDeleteI spoke with him on Sunday for a while.
I’ve reviewed some of the posts regarding Angel’s plight on other websites and forums. I won’t give any URLs. Suffice to say that many of the comments posted in some of these web forums and chat-rooms by members of the “pro gun rights” community show why gun owners are in the predicament that we’re in. I now understand why the NRA had no problem ramming “Project Exile” down our throats. It appears that most gun owners actually don’t give a hoot about the Bill of Rights and the intent of the Founding Fathers. Angel’s guilty on account of him being raided. What hooey!
I tried to post to several of those forums, but the threads were closed.
The idiots posting that Angel is obviously guilty because he broke some Michigan law must also then believe if you live in San Francisco and don’t turn in your gun, YOU SHOULD GO TO JAIL BECAUSE YOU ARE GUILTY OF BREAKING THE LAW. They typically post “Molon Labe” as their signature line. Ain’t that a hoot?
I read posts stating everything from the “fact” that Angel is obviously guilty of crimes, and should be prosecuted, to posts indicating that he doesn’t need the help of gun-owners because he’s a criminal. I read how the police wouldn’t have staged a SWAT raid unless Angel was truly a criminal. After all, Big Brother’s enforcers would NEVER use SWAT unless it was justified. They had to have done it to save the community from a criminal nut with 17,000 rounds of ammo.
The posts at some of these sites should enlighten the gun owning public. It should show you that, if you are ever raided due to false statements by an informant or someone with an agenda, you probably deserve it, and your alleged “friends” will treat you as a criminal.
Most folks know that if you have a shotgun and a hacksaw, you have the capability of making a destructive device, and - of course - you SHOULD BE RAIDED.
This is a great illustration as to why plea bargains are often a good idea. In several cases that I’ve worked on all lawyers involved considered a specific plea bargain as a “win.” It saved the client the expense of going to trial -not to mention the obvious danger of going to trial with the likes of these Angel-bashers in the jury.
If your purported “allies” proclaim you guilty without having access to the facts, what sort of chance would you have at trial?
Yeah, that’s right – the morons who are defaming and libeling Angel without access to the facts are likely in the jury pool. Now how scary of a thought is that?
BTW Angel, please keep a record of all the libelous posts regarding you and your case. After this matter is cleared up you can go after these folks for defamation. It’s not a big deal these days to obtain the IP addresses of these folks through discovery. As you know, I will assist you with the litigation.

Mark in Arizona
