Sebelius said she was pleased to support giving concealed weapons permits to retired law enforcement officers. But she said she can't ignore the businesses, law enforcement groups and local officials who fear a concealed weapons law could lead to an uptick in gun violence.And as we all know, you just don't want to let those who aren't "the only ones" anywhere near guns...
Especially in Kansas. Why, you might turn Dodge City into Dodge City...
Yeah, Kansas should take a hint from the myriad of other states who have suffered "upticks" in violence and repealed the legislation. What's that? None have?! The humanity!

ReplyDeleteRetired LEOs would do well to exercise extreme caution when carrying in a state where the other subjects are not so empowered.
ReplyDeleteCops in states with no concealed carry laws are conditioned to believe that anyone in civilian clothes with a gun is a bad guy. They have a habit of shooting first and sorting out the details later.

From the Rauch article, he reports that "Dodge City had exactly 15 homicides in all its 9 years as a cattle town (1877-1885)."
