After a siege that began on April 2, 1780, Americans suffer their worst defeat of the revolution on this day in 1780, with the unconditional surrender of Major General Benjamin Lincoln to British Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton and his army of 10,000 at Charleston, South Carolina.
I keep thinking of that young lady in that movie, standing up in church. She said something along the lines of " When your country now needs you the most, are you stopping at mere words"......Also heard was the line," A dog is a good meal". I ain't stoppin' at words, and I know a few dogs that I intend to feed long and well on their skulking flesh.
ReplyDelete"British Lieutenant General Sir Henry CLINTON".......Hmmmmm. Why does this NOT surprise me?
